I was recently diagnosed with tonsil, tongue and lymph node cancer, and Dr. Jump saw me on very short notice to provide a "clearance letter" so I could proceed with my cancer treatment plan. I also wanted some targeted dental work done on one tooth before starting radiation treatment, but Dr. Jump wisely recommended that I take no action regarding that one tooth. How incredible is that! I waited patiently while another patient who arrived after me was called first, which honestly did not bother me. However, by 9:40 a.m., I was still waiting. Eventually, I was called back for my X-rays, and the dental assistant was very kind and professional. The receptionist also did her job well. After that, I waited for the dentist. She came into the room and, after several minutes, introduced herself. When I explained that I was there for my scheduled cleaning, she told me they did not have anyone available to perform it. This was extremely disappointing because I had already adjusted my work schedule and arrived late to work specifically for this appointment. She then offered to do the cleaning herself, which I initially appreciated. However, I was told I would have to wait another 1 hour and 45 minutes. At that point, I realized my time was not being respected, so I decided to leave. I left feeling deeply disappointed and disrespected. The overall experience made me feel as though I was treated differently, and that is not how any patient should leave a healthcare office. As a proud Dominican and a naturalized U.S. citizen, I believe every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and professionalism. I hope this office reviews its scheduling practices and ensures that future patients are treated with the consideration and respect they deserve.

I had already skipped a March appointment because of pandemic fears, but Mint Dental made me feel safe because of the amount of precautions they were taking. Before my appointment, I waited in my car (the waiting room is closed for safety) and they let me know by phone when it was safe to enter. When I first walked in the building, I was asked a series of questions to make sure I have not been exposed to the virus in the last 14 days. All the staff in the building were wearing masks, but my hygienist and the dentist both wore N95-grade masks and face shields while they worked on my teeth. In addition to this, all the surfaces in my exam room I touched were covered in replaceable plastic and they had a HEPA-air filter constantly cleaning out the air. If you have been putting off a dental appointment because of the pandemic, Mint Dental is doing their absolute best to make it safe for you.
