Some of the first questions asked to us were around immunisations, vet registrations and any special requirements of the animals (paired cages, medicines, diet etc...). The inital atmosphere was very impressive aswell, a small smell of cat could be detected (as would be expected at any cattery) but there was no overwhelming odour (we had smelt elsewhere) showing cleanliness was also a high priority here. Being shown a "room" was useful, a litter tray, bedding area and natural scatch post (log or thick branch) were present in every room with a good outdoor covered area. In between each room is a wall of clear perspex allowing the cats to see each other but stop any sneezes (feline flu) or altercations from ruining your pet's stay. Dropping the cat off was quick and painless, a hand over of cash (no card facilities) with the cat and her food, a quick check of her immunology records and we were off, albeit slowly and with a touch of guilt. 10 days later and we returned to find a happy, well cared for cat, we were advised she hadnt eaten much during the last 2 days and the staff thought this may have been a touch of gingivitus (they have a good base knowledge of behaviours and what to watch) turns out she was actually having a hunger protest and wanted to go home, guilt treats were devoured in seconds of letting her out her carrier. All in all a very happy customer, willing to both return and recommend to anyone needing a good cattery with high standards staffed by people who genuinely seem to care for their residents

Ive recently had to use a dog walker so was looking around for someone that i could trust - never…read morean easy thing to entrust your beloved hound to someone else! I found Denise on the internet and saw that she used to work for the police, is CRB checked and had some good testimonials. So i rang her up - she wasnt available but someone took my number and she rang back when she said she would - always a bonus! We made an appointment for her to come out and meet us and our dog within a few days. I was also sent copies of her CRB check, insurance details and a form to fill in asking important things about our dog such as whether he was vaccinated, neutered, if he liked being walked with other dogs, if he could be let off the lead etc. This made me feel at ease as i could see that she was very professional in her dealings. When we met Denise our dog took to her straight away - she is very warm and obviously cares deeply about dogs. We discussed what we needed as well as what we might like in the future - our dog could really do with some socialising with other dogs and Denise handled this very well and made some brilliant suggestions. She invited us round to her home, where she runs her business from, so we could see the set up and so that our dog could get to know her even better. When it came time for Denise to take our dog out for a walk i received a text afterwards saying how it had gone - this really put my mind at ease. A 30 minute walk, on his own, cost £8.50 which was cheaper than some places that i had looked at. When i got home that evening my dog was incredibly happy - i could also tell that he had been given a wash down after his walk as he was all soft and fluffy (hes a German Shepherd & malamute cross so am not sure he would appreciate being called fluffy!). During the week that followed i got some lovely texts from Denise about how he was behaving during the walks. Denise doesnt do much advertising as her clients tend to come via word of mouth - if thats not a good recommendation then i dont know what is - Highly recommended from me :)

We just used them again to care for our 2 cats while we went on holiday. Our cats have been going to Broadmarsh since they were kittens, so going on two years now. The staff always greet us and our boys with a smile and hello. They remember our boys by name and get excited to see them, as by their website and facebook page you will see, they love each pet that comes into their care, and the reviews on those pages are glowing as well. Broadmarsh have very clean facilities, and they care for your pet as you would. One of our cats has special dietary needs and they are happy to administer medication and feed him using his special food and instructions. On one visit, our cat needed extra special care and they took exceptional care of him. They were happy to speak with me every day, sometimes a couple of times a day, giving me updates. They are happy to be contacted through Facebook and will gladly post photos of your pet while you are away. I know that we will always use Broadmarsh to board our cats. When we collect them, they are healthy, happy, and very clean. They settle in back home without any problems, and we attribute this to the good care they receive at Broadmarsh.

Top notch cleanliness and all the other cats in the cattery were well looked after, clean, and seemed calm. Our boys started staying at Broadmarsh when they were very young kittens and were cared for just as we would care for them at home with lots of love and attention. Broadmarsh staff are always quick with a smile and cuddle for our boys, and they keep in touch through Facebook to help if you are having pet separation anxiety. I would like to commend them and thank them for the superb care our cats received in April. Unfortunately, one of our boys became very unwell and needed to go to the vet and needed special care and medications. Broadmarsh took care of everything for us until we were able to get back to our poor sickly boy. They did such a good job of keeping us informed and caring for him, and monitoring him. It made a bad situation less stressful knowing that Broadmarsh could and would give top care and treatment. We will always use Broadmarsh cattery for our boys, we couldn't ask for better.

Sentenced my cat to a death sentence. Took him here as he…read morewasn't eating properly and struggling to walk. They kept giving him things for furballs. Nearly 3 months we kept going back until we decided to try a vets in Penkridge. They immediately said what was wrong and injected a dye into his blood stream and saw a blockage caused by a tumor. Left him there overnight for a operation but found out it was too far progressed and had to have him put to sleep. If Melbourne vets had done the same we might well of saved him over them 3 months. Bought some household flea spray from them last week only to find my wife had also bought some and already done the house. Took it back 7 hours later for a refund to be told they couldn't refund the £25 as they don't know how the aerosol had been kept in them 7 hours. What do they think I'd of done to it, microwaved it or froze it? Never use them. They are a rip off. Thanks for nothing Melbourne Veterinary Centre.

The second time our plane was delayed and we arrived 20 minutes late to pick the dogs up and the old bag who ran it shouted out the window that we couldn't have the dogs and to come back the next day. In the end her husband, who was a lot nicer helped us, but they don't take cards only cash and they only gave half our dog bed back. They are 40 minutes from our house so it's not easy to go back and get them. When my husband phoned her to ask she told us we were black listed! We would never use them again any way, and I certainly wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. She was the rudest person I've ever encountered,slamming doors and muttering under her breath. Appalling.

Our previous dog was a very nervous German shepherd and they we always kind and went the extra mile for him even getting chicken breast specially for him. It states that payment is with cash and all of the staff have been brilliant. The times for collecting your dog is advertised .This enables the staff to care for our pets.
