David and I cannot speak too highly of the treatment of the vets and all the staff here. Our seven year old Golden Retriever was discovered to have a mast cell tumour and was operated on successfully by Janet Martin. Janet kept us informed of Callum's progress, in a caring and professional manner. Susanne Dieterich felt that we would all be less stressed by having the operation in a location where we all felt comfortable. She was right! Amanda Odeku initially thoroughly examined Callum, and helped me feel less guilty, as I initially thought he had a cyst, and hadn't taken him straight away. Denise on reception was so sensitive towards us, and I'm sure she remembered how upset we were, when Jamie, our previous Retriever had been 'put to sleep' and she comforted us then. Her fellow receptionist (Chris?) was kind towards us as well. Tessa Brotherton took alternate stitches out and Nicola Singleton took the remaining stitches out and gave his ear, which had been 'mucky' a good clean as well! Nicola reassured us that her dog had been operated on by Janet, and that had been a complete success! There was also a lovely vet who said she'd heard a lot about Callum!! (Melanie?) If I've left any names out.......many apologies. Thank you to all the Staff at Melbourne Veterinary Centre. Expertise, kindess go a long way to alleviate a stressful time. Callum is at present just over two weeks later, having a lovely time at the seaside.....and admired by all who see him!! read more
