About 45 minutes later we were told we could return to the first area. (Hope you aren't confused yet!) It had been opened up into an even bigger room than before. It had a dance floor and many round tables. It was difficult to believe it was the same room. During the reception they had a DJ and a video presentation to honor deceased family members so there's a variety of equipment for your event.

For $20 for one kid the place should have been in a lot better shape. I would not recommend going here especially. It's not worth it. I remember when this peninsula was a wasteland, with the impound lot. Probably the last time I was here was 30 years ago to help a friend get his car. It's totally different now. A nature preserve in the heart of the city.

This is a great center located within the Scioto Audubon Metro Park. There are great views of the…read moregreen space, the river, the signature water tower in the park, and the Columbus city skyline. The center itself is a nice space filled with plenty of natural light, fireplaces on both the interior and exterior, and a lot of great amenities. There's a very nice library space with plenty of materials for adults and kids, including, of course, some great birding resources, and comfy seating. Several turtles are on display, including a snapping turtle and a box turtle, and there are two more on the way shortly - a painted turtle and a spotted turtle, whose aquariums were set up. This room also has some interesting displays about invasive species, craft activities (at the time of our most recent visit, these were penguin bookmarks and suncatcher snowflakes), and other fun touches. A really nice playroom is also offered, with places for kids to climb, crawl, hide out in tunnels, and more. Rotating art exhibits make an appearance in the hallways. A current one at the time of our most recent visit, called Artificial Modernity by Taylor Moon Castagnari, provided some interesting looks at birds and how environmental impacts affect them through digital illustrations. The staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful and can get you set up with information or checking out materials, like binoculars or kids explorer packs. They also offer a lot of programs and events, including story times, bird watching, and more.

Over the years as many things have been located on the site now known as Columbus Commons…read more Most recently, this was the site of a large downtown shopping mall with several large department store chains anchoring the facility financially and with customer foot traffic. prior to that there was an ice rink available to the public known as the centrum. Now it is a green space that hosts, public gatherings, concerts and is a wonderful place to picnic. As of the mid 2020s there have been frequent weekly appearances of food trucks on specific days offering a wide variety of unique foods. On the north end of Columbus Commons there is an outdoor stage, which act has the venue for live performing arts events. These can include the Columbus Symphony, but also other live music and performing arts as well. some of the adjacent local restaurants have windows which open toward Columbus Commons and these are great venues too watch and appreciate all the goings on. It has become a popular spot to host a variety of cultural events, and, while significantly smaller in size and scope, in that respect it generally shares a similar mission to downtown Chicago's Grant Park. Ample parking is available in the garage to the south of Columbus Commons and on surrounding streets. There is also a large underground garage at the Ohio State house, and some other garages and flat lots nearby. I have never found parking to be a huge problem. There is also an underground garage beneath Columbus Commons. Bottom line: lots and lots of parking.

I told them I had three kids under 5 and needed a place to change them and keep bottles and so on and they gave me attitude about leaving my stroller in the open. they also made us have all our stuff out of the getting ready spaces by 9 and the wedding went until 10.... I didn't drive so didn't have a space to put it and literally had to put my bags OUTSIDE. they're awful.
