I had such a good experience from my visits that I continued going post pregnancy for my chronic back pain and knee pain, which also has been going well. Upon entering the clinic, you're seated in a cozy lounge stocked with a variety of snacks (granola bars, wagon wheels, chips, cookies) and a Keurig stocked with a various teas, coffee and hot chocolate. The treatment rooms are also cozy; they don't feel too clinical at all. The staff are fabulous; from the friendly folks working at the front desk to my treatment provider. I like the availability of treatment times and days and the fact that it's fairly easy to get in without too much advanced notice. I also like how you can book an appointment online or via text. This place sure fit the bill! By being right in the complex Whitemud Crossing which is on two of the cities busiest roads; the Mud and Calgary Trail. There is quite a few staff that provides a variety of services and it is quite easy to get an appointment; especially last minute, which with Chiro is often the case! It's not my first or best choice, but in a pinch (pun oh so totally intended) they most certainly do the trick!

With a very frozen mouth, I went in to check them out. It's a fairly small clinic, but they sure pack a lot of services in there! I've been suffering from migraines for the last few years. I had seen a chiropractor waaaaaay back when I was in high school, and something finally reminded me that it would probably help my current pain and maybe it was time to get back into it. There was one tiny hiccup at my first visit - The email that I got from them said that my appointment was at 9 am, but when I got there it was actually at 11 am, so I had to come back, but that wasn't a big deal. She was running about 10 minutes behind, but they advised me of that when I arrived. Once I was in with Dr. Joseline, I was really impressed. She asked a lot of questions to really understand the issues and what I wanted to accomplish. She explained what the course of action would be, and asked even more questions to find out what I was comfortable with in terms of treatment. I'm really looking forward to continuing my care at this facility. And they send you home with an ice pack after your first visit just in case there's any tenderness :) It was a nice touch. My focus right now is on chiropractor services, but they also offer acupuncture, massage, counselling, life coaching, reiki, weight loss...... I'm sure there's more! **Update on March 3, 2016** I have now experienced their massage as well and let me tell you.... I won't go anywhere else. It's a small room in the clinic, and you can hear much of what is going on outside the massage room which could be unsettling for some, but really didn't bother me as the treatment was so perfect. I've also called for last minute chiro appointments when something was bothering me and have had no issues being squeezed in. Most recently, I had to go in on a Wednesday, which is not a day that Dr. J is in, so I saw Dr. Lacina instead. She is one of the few people in the city certified in Active Release Therapy and it's really effective. I am now comfortable going in on any day and seeing any doctor while knowing that my care is in the best possible hands. The staff can't be beat. This will sounds silly, but I genuinely leave feeling really happy. It's not just physically beneficial, but it also has a really positive affect on my emotional well being. They have 2 other locations (Spruce Grove and Jasper ave). I highly recommend this clinic for everybody.

I find the staff here extremely pleasant and professional and the clinic itself is bright and clean. My therapist, Elizabeth, has been great in our sessions - I am the kind of person who likes to understand why we're doing something and she is patient to explain what she's doing and why it'll help. It's pretty easy to book appointments and their hours are convenient (both open early and into the evenings). I do wish there were weekend hours and the ability to book appointments online.

I got a lot out of my time there and I still do some of the same exercises at home today to stay strong and to sty fit. I had one mishap that involved the muscle stimulator machine. It went a little crazy and somehow got turned up really high. It really freaked me out because it hurt. From then on, my therapist massaged me herself - no more machines - which I really appreciated. I am no longer recommending them. They use to be different, and have changed... Bullying, defaming character, playing games, lying... not a way to keep your business alive by allowing staff to treat people with frequent relational aggression, etc without addressing professionalism. Reason #1 to avoid Wellness: If a spa is not toxic, Practitioners should not be constantly bullying clients into getting less services by devaluing their pain and disabilities. WOW staff are taking their personal problems out on their clients. It's actually been difficult to adjust to being treated professionally at other businesses/clinics... being respected, listened to, and valued feels odd... that's how toxic Wellness has become. I've felt such relief since I've stopped supporting WOW... you actually get treated well at other businesses/clinics! "No, I still need weekly treatment, means no, I still need weekly treatment." Clients should not have to say this over and over. As my physiotherapist remarked, clients should not have to validate their chronic pain to you, it's your job to listen. Initially, I gave them a chance to remedy it, however, in the end, I can't trust a place of business with my pain that supported this unprofessional and disrespectful behaviour from an RMT. When I was not well enough one week to get specific feedback to the massage therapist right away, I was told she no longer wanted to work with me. After 8 years of trusting someone, it was a shock. I broke the silence about unprofessionalism, and was fired as a client for it. Unsettling. Reason #2 to avoid Wellness: As another example, the STAFF centred care has become out of control... Products should not be taken off the shelf so you can't buy them and placed back out later. I started buying online so the staff could not lie to me about how much was left of a particular facial product... it's truly unprofessional. Wellness on Whyte has become unprofessional and has come away from client centred care. It's sad. One of the causes may be that the practitioners themselves use the products and services of Wellness, which is already a very small business. Wellness has limited appointments! When the practitioners see you booking services in advance, they become upset. The business model is flawed: It is another reason why it's become toxic. You can't have practitioners pressuring clients to cancel other appointments they genuinely want and need because they themselves want the services/ are horse trading with other practitioners in Wellness. If Wellness was not allowing their practitioners to "horse trade" services etc within the company, then there wouldn't be practitioners competing with clients for appointment spots. Again, highly unprofessional. Reason #3 to avoid Wellness: The more money you spend here, the more jealous the staff becomes and the meaner they get. It's bad business to let your staff bully your best clients. The LESS money you spend here, the MORE they will respect you. A clinic where the staff get a mean attitude when you give them more business, is not a place to be. In conclusion, I never thought after years of supporting this business that they would shift in such an unprofessional direction. They even somehow got my review removed from another platform, which is why I had to post on Yelp, where they cannot manipulate my review. Interesting how they do business here.... I wouldn't trust them with your credit card either, as they will charge you for half your appointment cost, even when you had unavoidable sickness or emergencies. They will waive the cost one time, and not again. The new polices allow them to rip you off, and it will cost you even if you don't get a reminder they were supposed to send. It's truly shocking how much the money matters most here, and yet on the other hand, the more money you spend, the more they treat you mean out of jealousy. Very unprofessional. My advice? Spend your money somewhere they actually want you to! LOL
