Fast forward 36 hours and I'm feeling so much better - no more neck or shoulder pain. The massage started with kneeding over a thin blanket, then that was eventually removed. Nicely warmed oils were added to my body (no particular smell) and finally, hot stones were rubbed over my back. Sigh. A few comments: Language can be a barrier - speak slowly and clearly. Tell the ladies what you want and need them to focus on and how long you'd like timewise. If I hadn't spoken up, I think they would've just done whatever your standard massage was. The ambiance is pretty basic, but I got a private room with a heated pad to lie down on. No fancy smelly essential oils here. The background music was not annoying.
