I've been dealing with sciatica pain for months and having to sit for 5.5 hour flight triggered my sciatica to full force. I went for a walk and I am so glad I stumbled on this place! (note: I'm not from the area). I googled sciatica and showed them the definition of it and an image of my pain area. My therapist knew exactly where the targeted areas, and can I just say - she took really good care of me. She was so strong! She knew where to add extra pressure and when to tone it down. I recently moved to the area and this is my go-to place when I need to get my knots and body back on track. The staff is friendly and professional. The place it small and cozy. The only downside is the traffic noise on the street - but I won't take any stars off for that because it kind of comes with the territory for any business on this street. I always leave feeling refreshed after an hour body massage. It's also affordable compared to many spas I've been to with less professional or trained staff. Also, it's in the perfect location for a self-care day alone or with a loved one. There are sooo many restaurants and boutiques in the area of explore before or after your massage. Even a liquor store next door if you hope to end your night with some wine lol. Today I needed a MIRACLE! After two massages at a nearby spot with all the bells, whistles and ambiance, I was still in pain. No worries! Just like the other reviews said, Shirley is amazing. I called and was able to get an appointment in the next hour. Hooray. From the moment her compressions started, I knew she knew what she was doing. BINGO! Usually, I tell them my lower back is the issue and I ask for glute work. It never fails, they don't really know what that means or just simply don't do it. So, today I just kept my mouth shut. Another lady mentioned that Shirley found her knots and worked them out. Translation: she's got skills. ;0) Her touch and pressure is strong but appropriate in all of the right places. I really like this place & my masseuse this time named Cindy but she forgot to oil & massage my left leg. She had oiled & massaged the right but went straight into the warm towel & stone to clean off the oil, without having done the left leg. Was my second time here. The first time was to get a 30 min foot massage with Amy, who did a great job. This time I met with Ada who did an amazing job. Her hands are magical and the massage was excellent from start to finish. The staff and the woman at the front desk do a great job ensuring you are pleased with your service and have a good experience. And they have a points card, that after 10 hours, you get a 1hr free massage! Give this place a try! It's worth it. Cash tips preferable. I made a last minute appointment for my mom and I on a Sunday afternoon, so glad they were able to accommodate. My husband made an appointment last night at 7pm for two 1-hour foot massages today at 3pm. We thought we were all set until we got there and realized they had double booked our appointment. The lady there said she called and left a message to confirm our appointment and since my husband didn't pick up the phone call or call back they decided to cancel our appointment without even trying to call again...or even send a text. We literally booked the appointment less than 24 hours ago. A reputable business would not do this. We have been there multiple times and have never had anyone call to confirm the appointment. a "fairly" new establishment in town that i will NOT recommend. I go and have a massage once a month so I have been to a lot of places over Jersey and New York. I decided to check out over the weekend since its within walking distance to my place. They were accommodating and the massage started good. But when she started massaging my lower back it was very painful. I told her to lessen the pressure but she just kept on massaging with the same pressure. It was VERY painful to the point I was hissing in pain. I asked her again to lessen the pressure but she just told me that "it is okay, no pain no gain" and preceded to continue massaging. She only stopped when I stood up and asked to massage my feet instead. After, she had the gall to tell me to go back to her next time and do a 90-minute massage. This is not how you treat clients!!! First these are not licensed medical masseuse or doctors who would know if something is happening inside the body. The moment, the client has asked to stop or lessen the pressure, they should be concern as they dont know whether there is an injury or nerve/spinal damage. Now, i have more backache and shooting pains than when I went there, and will probably have to go to the doctor to see what is going on. I suggest never to get a back massage from them ever! They maybe a good foot massage place but they will injure your body and would not care about your health. read more
