LOVE OF MY LIFE APPLE (AKA LOLA)

Our dog Oakley has been seen by Springdale Animal Hospital from day one to unfortunately her last. Due to low standard of care our girl had to suffer. We were out of town on our FIRST family vacation when we were notified that something wasn't right and she has an open wound with pus coming out on her back and she could hardly walk. Immediately, I called our vet at Springdale Animal Hospital which was on a Saturday morning and had our care giver head to that way. The office said they could work her In at 9:30 but they close at noon so make sure we were not late. I was told when they got there a technician came out and carried her in right away. As soon as the vet walked in our caregiver called us so we could listen in. And 2 minutes later he was out of the room but not before he assured us that Oakley was fine and it wasn't a big deal at all. He would start her on some oral antibiotics and oral pain meds and see her back in two weeks. Once he left the room they came to get Oakley so the wound could be shaved and "cleaned" I have a hard time believing it was properly cleaned as I was told after she passed it was cleaned with a Betadine flush however, after working in the medical field myself I know how that stuff stains and there was nothing stained on her and our care giver said it looked the same as it did when they brought her in other than her hair being shaved. Once they were finished our care giver called us back so we could pay over the phone which took three minutes, I only point this out because it took longer to pay than the vet took to do the exam. After we paid over the phone a tech put her on a leash and forced her to walk to the car. (She was very good on a leash and would walk right beside you with or without a leash however the vet tech had to partially drag her.) We were notified the following morning that she passed away in the night less than 24 hours after being told she was going to be perfectly fine and not to worry by a vet. We came home from our vacation 12 hours away to take care of her body and say our goodbyes. We took her in to an emergency clinic to have her cremated but first had the on duty vet give us his opinion. He told us that someone had obviously dropped the ball and as soon as she came in the door he would have ordered blood work and based off the blood work they would have at minimum started IV antibiotics and recommended she be admitted for a couple days. We weren't given the option for ANY of this but instead assured she was fine. We've never had this type of experience here but this time it was a Saturday and they seemed more concerned about being pressed for time.

This veterinarian has been here for a very long time. This was at one time the only vet around here that took in big animals, such as horses n cows. I've had good experiences with this vet. They seem to care about your furry friends with is a great thing. I'll stop in here time to time to get wormer pills for my livestock.

I had an unwelcoming experience at crossover today. My dog bailey has been there before few months…read moreago brought her in for full blood work up for seizers she started having. . And was given some meds to give her twice a day and see how she performs. Well over all this time she only had a few break through that only lasted a few min and she would recover we dont miss medication just break through ones I understand well today i came home found her in deep thrall of full grand mall that lasted 30 full min while i called ur clinic i told receptionist that i need to bring her in and get emergency meds to get her calm an get her temp down before she dies i was told they could not take her because they wete full of appointments i explained she is in 35 min siecer with high hart and temp and i am in hickory creek. Tbey said bring her to emergency i explained i have to get her temp down asap and your location is 28 min from my house the emergency is 40 . So I will need to bring her in. I told them she was on verge of death by time i get there full hour continius seizer i was first told her temp was 108 and they got her seizers to stop and temp down to 105. They gave me sum new meds recommended i bring her to emergency so they can watch her over night. So i said okay . I was presented my bill and paid. Not being shown what all the charges were until after i paid. So i asked there is a chage for after hours emergency i asked what it was for and stated i am here during hours and was told oh thats just what it says i then repeated all nicley that words mean things and is there a during hours emergency line that could be applied instead. Receptionist did not like this and stated i should have taken her to emergency like they suvgested i then told her that if i would have done that her organs would have all began to fail since her temp wad 108 just getting there another 20 min would have meant life or death she got snarky and statef u should be thankful that we saved ur dog i then began to get upset if i would have listened to them and not arrived there to get her temp down she eould jave been dead. . And thst me bringing here to ur location due to length of seizer body temp ect is what ssved her. And i also at that time now being annoyed did say i did just pay you as well to give her care and said the f word. . I shouldnt have ur vet then came out said same thing and said she didnt like my tone and that your place was full and they stopped everything to help her even that one customer had anxiety attack because the doctor was working on bailey and not her dog. I sure would have thought a dog in distress more important than lady with anxiety. Then she demanded I leave and not return. Worst experience in my life to be treated this wsy just trying to save my dog Also charged for certain amount of medication see photos and received way short dosage and total number. Here is link to the phone call interactions showing lack of empathy and help for my dog. once again she had been having a seizer for over an hour by the time I arrived i live 30 min from vet, and they were suggesting as they did the other person that did a review with complaint that I take her another 25 min away. Time is of the essence in these issues, and they simply could care less. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Y8IP3fT-t_rTjfHwB99o34sIOtMm-oFG?usp=sharing

I went in there today after my foster attacked my dog. Once I arrived the man at the front was nice…read moreand helpful I waited patiently with both dogs (safely separated) for about 30 mins. All good I understand and would've waited forever for my baby. Then a nurse came out pet the foster dog who had a cut on her lip and didn't touch my dog who had a puncture wound near her neck. Instead I offered her a picture when I realized she wasn't even going to check my dog at all. She said it didn't look that serious and we can either wait 5-6 hours or go to Bentonville animal urgent care. We got in the car and began driving. On the way the org my foster was through called me and said they couldn't cover the price of urgent care. Once again I understand but my dog has still not even been actually looked at and no one seems to want to help me. At this point I just need to know if she's going to be okay. I asked the org if there was anything else to do. They said they'd get back to me. Then when we stopped so I could reach out to some of my personal connections I received a text from the org. "Springdale emergency clinic said they evaluated your dog and "the cut" was not very deep so they think she will be okay." EVALUATED???? WHEN? I was with my baby the entire time there was no "evaluation" she didn't even see the "cut" other than a blurry picture I had to offer her. Anyways my connection helps me clean her up as best she could so I can take her in to get STITCHES for her PUNCTURE WOUND tomorrow. This place is lazy. I understand they are exhausted and have other patients to see but sending a nurse out who doesn't even touch the dog. THATS ABSURD. They should've just let me wait to get back there I would've done that happily. This place is a joke. Needs more caring and loving staff.

They saved my toy poodle, Hamish…read more I called my regular vet, who had seen 11-year-old Hamish (and our other dogs) since he was a tiny puppy after he was attacked by another dog. I asked if I can bring him in right away. They said, "We can't fit you in. Sorry." I begged and said he might die. They did not care. They told me they might be able to fit me in the NEXT DAY in the afternoon. I slammed down the phone and said I'd never be back. I called Wedington Animal Hospital, and they didn't ask any questions. They said to bring him in IMMEDIATELY. I did, and they saved him. He was there for a couple of days, and they made sure he would recover and be OK. They will always be our vets as long as we live in this area. Hamish loved the people, and he's now 12 years old and as feisty as ever. Thanks for taking care of our little guy, Wedington Animal Hospital. You are the place we always recommend to people who ask for references. I was talking to her coworker about something not even worked related because we heard the conversation. When we were finally greeted the woman asked if we had weighed our dog. I've never weighed my dog in my life myself when I've gone to a vet, so I thought it was weird that they even expected us to do that. Just overall not a good vibe when we got there and no not didn't even do the appointment.
