So this review is an outsiders perspective. There are some amazing, fabulous people working here. I'd say 97% of the people I interacted with were stellar! And I think the select few uncaring, ignorant staffers would be found anywhere - I don't know how they could eliminate all of them - but I know they try! Food in the cafeteria used to be AMAZING!! Seriously there were many time I thought I should go eat there JUST for the food. Sadly when I was there for 3 weeks in Dec 2016 the food was NOT the yumminess I remember. The sandwich bar is still good!! I especially love the pretzel bun! And they're made to order using quality ingredients. Not skimpy either - nicely done on the balance of ingredients! However the entree and sides that in the past tasted small batch homemade and nutritious (aka not fried) have become industrial, prepackaged glop and mostly fried and/or dried out. The best line was someone's comment that the roast turkey was so dried out it looked like "toast"!! Ha ha ha! Highlight - 2nd floor coffee shop!! A real espresso machine and ab fab smoothies! They also have tasty sweet treats and usually at lunch a soup (which may or may not match the cafeteria)! Speaking of coffee - some floors have free and accessible coffee, tea, ice, etc but some don't - I encourage you to walk around or ask! If you have to be in a hospital this is probably one of the best around. They have some of the BEST specialists in the entire region. I especially think the Walker Heart Institute is amazing! You'd have to go to a much larger metropolitan area to do better! Best advice - stay out of hospitals - they are not a good place to be . Dr. Lydia Washer had incorrect information about basic disease processes and did not want to ask for a second opinion. When she had no explanation for my daughter's concerning symptoms, I began to ask her questions. At that point Dr. Washer was completely unprofessional. She began to cry and say she had had a really hard day. She then abruptly walked out of the room and discharged us minutes later without answering my questions or giving any explanation for very concerning symptoms. Had we left and not sought alternative care there could have been a very different outcome. I WOULD NOT TRUST ACHNW WITH THE CARE OF YOUR CHILDREN!!!! I have heard too many stories like my own.

I was welcomed and seen promptly. I came in on a Saturday afternoon. I saw the doctor within half an hour. I had to do a two hour contrast CT scan so I had to be there on the longer end but they made sure my family had snacks and drinks and I had plenty of warm blankets. My family had such high hopes when we were told about Regency. Someone from the facility came and…read morespoke with my mother and we truly thought that it would be a place of healing for my father. It ended up being a nightmare that I hope to never have to encounter again. There is a long list of negligence we experienced during a week and a half, but these are the most notable: 1) The nursing staff repeatedly called my father the wrong name. It was written on the wall. That alone makes you question if he is receiving the correct care. 2) Through the course of his stay due to a TBI, he needed mitts to keep him from pulling out his trache. My mother requested the "no-no mitts" be put on him before she left. The nurse said "Oh, well, we're out." A hospital is out of something that is a necessity for a patient? To make matters worse, when my mother called her out on this, the nurse pulled dirty mitts out of the hamper and said "These aren't bad. They'll work today." The mitts were covered in dried urine. 3) In the week and a half that my father was there, the hospital ran out of sheets several times. My mother ended up taking the laundry home every day to wash the mitts and sheets to ensure that my father had clean, unsoiled bedding. 4) The doctor prescribed Depends for my father. My mother asked for my father to be changed and the nurse rolled her eyes and said "We're out." "When you get them in?" "I don't know. Maybe next week? Who knows." My mother had to go out and buy supplies for his stay at Regency because they did not maintain their supplies for a prescribed item. 5) My father was placed into an enclosure bed to help keep him safe, however due to his movement and the fact that hospital gowns tend to leave skin exposed, he developed a rash from the plastic bed covering. When my mother pointed it out to the nurses, she shrugged, said "Yeah, looks like a rash. You can bring some medicine to put on that if you want." 6) The worst day was when my mother woke up extremely early feeling like there was something wrong. So, she made a surprise visit at 3am. Upon entering my father's room, she found him lying on his bed - no blankets (the staff said "we're out" again), no pillow case, no Depends. He was on a sheetless/blanketless plastic bed, in a urine-soaked t-shirt, naked from the waist down, lying in his own urine and feces. His "no-no mitts" were covered in feces and urine as well. My mother was the one who had to clean him up. This is a man who is unable to talk due to a trache, a man who is unable to advocate for himself. A man who is unable to clean himself up. A man who is helpless and in need of the very best of care. Instead, he received treatment that I would expect in a 3rd world country - not in a facility that per their website "provides comprehensive, specialized care for patients." Thank God my mother has medical contacts and wonderful case-workers who stepped in to help her fight this negligence and file complaints with the health department. We received a last minute transfer to Health South and our care at Health South has been phenomenal. My father has made HUGE gains since being transferred out of Regency. I would highly discourage anyone from placing a loved one in Regency. No family should have to endure the heartache my family faced when seeing the care my father received.

They were correct. The nurses are unwilling to give the family any information regarding his care or treatment.... Most of them have been blatantly RUDE to us and my dad... He had waited up to 45 min for a nurse to come in and assist him in going to the bathroom. After not getting a response and not being able to walk to the restroom alone, he of course had an accident ... Then was YELLED at by the nurse because of it. We will be contacting every advocacy personal we can find to have him moved from this location.... The treatment from the nursing team is absolutely appalling. / I wanted to add an update to my prior review and add a star as well.... The CNO called me personally to discuss ours concerns and has taken immediate action to change our perception of the hospital. I will update again when my dads stay is completed.

Physicians Specialty Hospital is the best that I have experienced. #1 CLEAN: PSH has cleaning staff 24 hours. Hospitals have admissions and discharges at all hours. Without housekeeping staff, nurses must provide this. #2 STAFF: PSH RNs, LPNs, CNAs have more experience in the specific surgeries and individual orders by MDs who have privileges there. This increases communication and provides uniform application by all shifts. Great attitude! #3 HIGH QUALITY: a) It is quiet! You cannot hear conversation, TV, etc between rooms or from the hallway. Therefore, privacy can be 100%. b) Staffing quotas appear to be much better than mandates. This enables the higher standards of care to be carried out. c) Room space enables tasks to be performed easier and safer. 4) Physical Therapists are excellent. Mine personalized my sessions through observation, communication and demonstration. She provided printed step-by/step instructions and personal coaching tips that were applicable to my personal needs. Her coaching was encouraging and included indications for cutting back or pushing forward. 5) Meals were above average. Coffee was hot and milk was cold and ice cream was frozen. My discharge was complete. All follow-up care was scheduled; discharge instruction, prescriptions were presented by RN Supervisor.

Was experiencing high BP, upper and lower GI distress, very scary heart-related issues (tightness in chest, pain), constant diarrhea, losing weight rapidly. This had been going on for days. They literally checked my vitals (temp, BP) and nurse palpated my stomach. Then they made me wait and shoved forms at me to sign while I was still feeling distressed. One of the forms was saying that I refused treatment, which is false. They simply did not know what to do with me. An expensive lesson learned that I need to avoid this location (at least with an allergic reaction). They charged my insurance about $1020 (my portion $684) for the ER visit and another $163 (my portion ($92) for the PA I saw. I ended up having to pay over $600 for absolutely nothing: no meds, no help, no tests done, absolutely nothing. I was able to get a 20% discount off the $684 charge if I paid in full. I found that out after calling to complain. It was a weird, expensive, and disappointing experience.

Yes they do work to get you to better even when right after surgery it hurts. However, they know what is safe and what you need to do to make the best recovery. At the emergency room they did act scan of his throat and said yes it's very swollen (duh), asked them to look for pneumonia. every looked fine they said. gave him a prescription for another antibiotic and a steroid for the swelling. no one ever looked in his throat, nor took his temperature, no one had any answers for why he is running a fever. said thats All they could do. Not figu anything out just a guessing game. What the hell is a hospital, especially an emergency room for? I could guess just as well as them. I have had a problem with my left ear for over a month. Went to my doctor a few times to figure out…read morewhat was going on. So I got a referral to come here to get a CT scan on my ear. The lady I talked with and the one who did my scan her name was Kim. So what was nice is I came in to check in thinking I was going to need to fill out a bunch of paperwork but it was simple. The lady who checked me in asked me a few questions and I was off to get this test. Kim she was the sweetest lady she was very helpful with getting me ready and letting me know what to expect. The test only took about 10 minutes to do. Kim made sure that I was very comfortable and made sure I had warm blankets on me the whole time. After the test I gave her a big hug and told her I was very appreciative of her helping me go through this time. So Thankyou Kim
