This is a nice visitor center! It is CROWDED but there's a lot of turnover. Plenty of bathrooms,…read morereasonably clean (for a national park). They do have a sizable parking lot but that lot gets full FAST so if you want to park there you have to come early (recommended to come at or before 7am). The shuttle picks up here of course and I came around 6:20am; I was in the line by 6:45 and it was already wrapping around several times at the platform but the buses are big and particularly in the morning a bunch of shuttles come minutes apart so I actually didn't wait more than 15 mins or so to board one (I was on shuttle #3 of the morning). The organization is impressive, it's good they do it this way because the canyon would absolutely be loaded with cars otherwise!

The temperatures were literally 40° cooler in the mountains. I had an opportunity to get a permit to go up to Angels Landing. The hike is a rigorous hike because it's straight up uphill, but it's a beautiful walk. Highly recommend. The shuttles travel frequently and we were lucky enough to not hit the crowds. I've recommend getting the national Park pass so that you can use it on all national parks. It's only $10 more to get the universal pass than it is for entrance into just one part one time.

The raw and rugged beauty of the giant red rocks has inspired people for generations. There are some places that are simply breathtaking, resonating with the primal human spirit and inspiring to the soul. The sense of timelessness is what really does it. You can really see how the environment took millions of years to form, and know that it will be there for millions of years to come. Any season you visit is amazing - the sharp clarity of spring and summer, to the wonderful contrast that a fresh blanket of snow can bring in the winter. It's all just beautiful. The winding road through the park with one amazing view after another, and the tunnel through the side of the giant mountain, is simply iconic. The National Park Service has done an amazing job making the park accessible to just about anyone as well. There are easily accessible, beautiful areas for children and those that aren't as hardy or adventurous. But there are also extreme trails that go back far into the wilderness for the more thrill seeking, and average trails for your regular explorer. There's a lot to see, and you can go as deep, or as shallow, as you want. Zion National Park is definitely worth visiting at least once in your lifetime. Five stars, without question.

I still enjoyed it and had fun going to the beginning of the narrows before turning back (which lots of people do who don't want to get wet). It's not a long walk either, like a mile or so so you can do it fast. It starts at the temple of Sinawava, plenty of signs point the way towards it. Would rec the walk even if you aren't going to do the narrows itself, just for the vibes :)

The scenery changes frequently and there is a decent amount of shade. Any elevation change is barely noticeable. The not great parts - at the end of the trail begins "The Narrows". That spot of beach is WILDLY crowded. The folks returning from the Narrows use the Riverside Trail to come back to civilization, and can leave the trail wet and muddy. The trail itself is highly popular with people not doing the Narrows. So it's crowded. You'll have trouble overtaking slow folks and be slightly annoyed at loud groups wanting to pass your own slower than them self. Tips- do not wear boots. My feet were furious at me for doing this many steps in trail boots on hard concrete. Tennis shoes would have been so much better. Take your patience with you. Take a snack and plenty of water. Unless you're doing the Narrows or quite unsteady on your feet, you dont need poles.
