Wow, I called the police out here about a month or so ago to report some additional damage that had been done to my car. The officer that they sent out here a lady, asked me if I had any enemies and I told her about an incident that I had had at the senior living complex prior to moving to this location. She seemed to be more interested in that than she was the the additional damage that was done to my car. I asked her if she wanted to see the photographs of my car prior to the damage that I had been reporting, she said no. Spent quite a long time researching me, and left here without filing a report. I assume she was trying to protect the person I was having problems with prior to moving to this location. She seemed more interested in that person's reputation that my safety... UNBELIEVABLE. We had a mental health emergency while dealing with a traumatic situation, and a concerned family member called emergency services (she didn't know about Cahoot as she was from out of state). The police spent SO MUCH time talking to me, understanding the situation, and making sure that EVERYONE was okay. In the end, they got me help while still being compassionate and attentive to my needs. I was impressed by their professionalism and compassion, and I was so grateful for their actions that night. And yes, they fully encouraged the use of Cahoots. I just wanted to post this because I feel like police get a lot of bad rep, but there are legit reasons for needing them. I called to report an unsafe driver who was aggressively following another car all through town, cutting people off and screaming out his window. The woman that answered the phone asked where I was. In the middle of me trying to explain, she interrupted and told me to "hold on just a minute". I was on hold for at least 2 minutes. In that time I lost the cars. Then the recording on the phone says "thank you, goodbye" and hangs up. They never called back. Someone's life could have been in danger. They never even let me tell them what type of car it was. Recently, was housed at the Springfield, Oregon Jail. Was there for about one month. Appreciate that the jail still houses federal inmates waiting for hearings the District Court. Have lived in Springfield for 41 years. Been there ten times. Yikes, right? Meals are good in my opinion. They had a vegan meal for me. I personally like PB' J sandwiches. One thing that seemed different or at least I really noticed it this time was that it was really hard to breath inside of the cell. I've worked at Monaco Coach before and wonder if there is an argon problem, or something like that? Also worry about the officers who work there. Whenever there's something like that, I always try to point out to them that I get to leave someday, but they are there whole lifetime. Argon appears as a colorless odorless noncombustible gas. Last two times, hardly a peep for anyone? Kinda weird. They allowed my attorneys to call many times and let me come up front to use the phone to talk whenever they called. Really appreciate it. Commissary is a little more expensive than B.O.P. but all the same amenities minus coffee. You know the story though... Someone rubbed it on their anus and got sick, so they took it off the commissary list. Right. The jail always seems to have a high percentage of same mentally ill persons I keep seeing there. The Springfield Oregon Police Department is in blatant and intentional violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act of the Federal Law of the United States of America. I have a disabled parking permit and was trying to park in the only disabled space at the Goodwill. A car swooped into the next space before me, across the disabled parking space line and caused me to be unable to legally park my car. That driver harassed and abused me verbally in front of twenty or so witnesses, inside and outside the store, just because I politely and calmly asked him to correct the way he was parked, and he would not park his car correctly, saying he didn't have to do so. I took photos of his parked car. I called the Springfield Police Department and talked to an officer who talked to his Sargent and relayed the information that the P.D. would not come out to the scene nor would they contact the driver, whose license plate is clearly shown in the photos I explained I had taken. The PD did not even want to see the photos! They simply refused to honor the Law. The failure of the Springfield Police Department to uphold Oregon and United States Law is a disgrace. Every officer I have dealt with was professional and truly cared. (even when giving me a citation) i have lived all over Springfield. When living in some crappy parts of town I have been forced to make calls to the SPD. I have always had fast response times with all issues resolved. I like how they have a jail now and even went with my sons class to do a tour. I, along with thousands of viewers on FB, witnessed violence in a neighborhood in Springfield during a BLM protest last evening. A white male came in to the group and started physically assaulting peaceful protesters, using racial slurs, screaming, threatening. After that, the whole neighborhood joined him. It was disturbing to watch. When police FINALLY decided to show up, the cameraman told them that he had been assaulted at least twice, clearly visible from a live stream. The police officer dismissed it. I was shocked to see the racist response from the neighborhood. I called the police station, and the women said she couldn't address it without a name. She was indifferent. I will ever visit this city, unless I came to support black and brown people. July 21st ran out of gas on the corner of Belmont and Sheridan was out of the way of traffic parked on the side of the road didn't get the names of the officers a White male and a female the female which wasn't of the same race was very very rude and unprofessional and gave me dirty looks for explaining to her that I ran out of gas and wasn't even from Springfield She said it was an inconvenience I was in her way! literally the rudest people I have ever met. Always giving the run around adn not helping you solve a simple problem. Worst of all have this rude lady as the receptionist, not helping, acting as if she has no idea what she is doing, and yelling at you for such a simple task. Something needs to be resolved here. Everytime I need something it take days and nothing happens except highering your blood pressure. Horibble customer service, never seen any customer service worst than this. Everytime I go they say the same excuse, "oh this officer is not here, you have to com back tomorrow". So if one person isn't here the whole building doesnt function correct?
