The two young men operating the string trimmers were completely inexperienced and--to make matters worse--got me into trouble with my neighbor: the edging in the front yard was terrible, and they left bare patches everywhere, especially along the strip between the sidewalk and the property line. The trimming and edging in the backyard were just as poor and incomplete. As for the mowing, they rushed through it so quickly that they left uncut areas. The second visit was even worse than the first. I had simply asked them to mow and edge the backyard, and I told Jacob (the owner) that I would pay the full service price. My neighbor was keeping a close eye on them, and I wanted to avoid any confrontation. They took less than four minutes to do the work in the backyard; upon inspection, I saw it was a disaster: they didn't touch the edges around the house, the fence, or the curved areas, and they mowed so fast that they left uncut patches. As my neighbor told me: buying fancy equipment--string trimmers, edgers, and blowers--doesn't make you a professional landscaper; doing a good job requires dedication and attention to detail, as well as hiring experienced employees or training them to perform satisfactory work. I paid for the full service thinking the owner, Jacob, wouldn't cash the check given the unprofessional nature of the work, but they cashed it anyway. I expressed my dissatisfaction with their work and the damage caused to my neighbor's lawn, but the owner didn't have the "decency or professionalism" to offer a discount or waive the fee for such poor service and executing the job. Their professional standards are lacking, and the business he runs leaves much to be desired.

I gave up after they canceled three times and did not get my deposit back for three weeks. I made the mistake of calling them two months ago. They made an appointment to come out and look at the tree that needed trimming, but they showed up early, so I did not have the opportunity to speak with anyone. I received a bid that was higher than others, but I wanted a quality job so I went with them. Don't be fooled by the professional website. They try to upsell you on other services. Okay, I paid the deposit and then waited... a week later they contacted me and told me when they would come out for the service. I made arrangements with the tenants, then they rescheduled due to heat and smoke. Understandable. We set another date; I notified the tenants, and they canceled again. Then somebody called me and said that they could do it on Sunday. On Monday, they said they couldn't do the job, but would stop by with a pole trimmer. At that point, I asked about the refund policy. Without further conversation, I got a text saying my refund had been processed. Two weeks later, I called to ask about the refund. More runaround, then I got an email stating it was being processed by their corporate office in New York. I did receive it after about three weeks. In the meantime, I called an actual local company, Priceless Tree Care. They showed up on time, were very knowledgeable, charged no upfront deposit, and did a great job. Don't waste your time with Savatree.

I approached the owner after noticing the damage and he refused to fix it or even come by to look at it. I would not recommend using them. Thorough and yet efficient, and kept in touch leading up to the work being done, and followed up with me on the quote they initially gave me without being impatient or pushy. I had requested another company's quote and just got a better detailed description of what all they planned or thought was needed to do (and why) than the other company, so I went with Treasure Tree & Landscape.
