Finally-a Marriott property that didn't make me (extra) cranky. Room was clean enough-I didn't feel skeeved just breathing, moving and existing, so that's a bonus. Only issues: no hand soap and the thermostat didn't work (literally wouldn't power on at all). Thankfully I carry enough supplies with me and always have extra soap. The thermostat didn't bother me since I like it cold and was able to crack the window open for some fresh cold air. Complimentary breakfast was decent; I would give this property another shot. read more

This Marriott economy brand hotel has been in Tuckahoe for six years. We checked into room 523 for three nights. Our immaculate room was comfortable, bathroom was large, bed was plush and it was dark & quiet. I was pleased our room was not carpeted. We have free Wi-Fi and breakfast during the week from 6:30 until 9 o'clock and weekends until 10 in the morning. Check in and out was easy and quick, there was a lot of free parking out front. A small gym had some free weights & cardio machines. There was an outdoor sitting area with a fire pit. Breakfast was dicey, it was very crowded we were moving through an obstacle course. Staff had difficulty replenishing coffee & breakfast items, fast enough. However, when time was up they quickly carted away all of the coffee & breakfast item's. Powdered eggs, sausage, oatmeal with toppings, cereals & toast were offered. The coffee was watery, and the quality of breakfast was disappointing. There weren't enough tables because there were people working on laptops while others were shoeless looking for tables to eat breakfast. Most left a mess on tables that we cleared. read more

Not sure I ever stayed in the Springhill suites and I am glad I did. I picked it because I wanted the Marriot points. They have nice rooms and the one I stayed in was massive. It had a couch and full desk. The hotel has a small gym that did the trick. My ac didnt work in my room so they changed my room. Very accomodating and I would come back again. We didn't get towels until 11pm the second night we stayed here. The TV mount was so loose that you couldn't turn it to the beds to watch TV so the TV was useless. This was the second room we stayed in because the first the AC didn't work. The second night we were here the power went off for no reason several times throughout the night causing everything to beep and turn off and on. My child found a propped open door on the main level and slipped behind it. When we realized we looked and she was in a room with an empty pool with a deep end completely exposed. We couldn't believe that door would be left open for her to discover which to a kid looked like the coolest thing ever. The front desk staff was completely unhelpful in the towel station to the point we called corporate from the room. They even called the front desk and heard the same thing after three times requesting (9 hours apart and different days) that they didn't have any extra. We are still dealing with any type of compensation for our three children not being able to shower until the third day there bc the towels came so late on the second day. The whole thing was outrage and we will never stay with Marriott again. This is a franchise and it's very clear that they do not follow the Marriott rules. We have been going around and around with corporate but they just call the location and then the owner says they won't do anything so then days go by and we call again to hear no updates. To not have towels until your second night stay deserves a monetary refund and they absolutely refuse with no explanation. The owner of this specific location is clearly very cheap and not willing to do anything or even purchase real towels. He will write on this post some excuse. We travel a TON and have never had an experience like this. read more

Work takes me to the road and every so often I need to stay in a hotel for a night or two. First time at a Springhill Suites and this particular location set the bar! Great front desk staff. Needed to adjust my billing for tax exemption and it was done in 2 seconds. Room was super spacious and very clean. Staying here for business. Clean, well lit, recently refreshed hotel in a quiet location. No views or anything, but that's probably not why you're in Tuckahoe. Staff so far have been nice. Manager Gary emailed me before my stay to check in with me. Since I had back to back stays paid for by two different companies, they made sure my stay was seamless and I kept the same room without hassle. Price is reasonable and standard for Marriott. It can be a little frustrating to stay in a room for a whole week and not have actual housekeeping (due to COVID 19 precautions). The only reason this bothers me is because the floors are engineered wood and tile, so things like stray hairs and every speck of dirt builds up and is so easily seen. I'm sure I can ask for a mop and they would oblige. Not their fault we are going into the third year of a pandemic. But they do provide all you need when you ask--new towels, toilet paper etc. They picked up any garbage I left outside my room quickly. They also have a guest laundry (a little pricey at three dollars to wash and three dollars to dry, but convenient)--and a nice little pantry with drinks, chips, and microwave meals. The rooms do come with a fridge and microwave. The rooms are large suites and Marriott partnered with West Elm to add some modernity and style. There is a large seating area with ottoman, a desk with divider, then a large sleeping area. Bathroom is large too. Beds are average. Plenty of closet space. Extra blankets and sheets there as well. I also applaud that they require masks. Internet is fast (though I was connected to enhanced internet and not sure if that made a difference). Oh, and close to a train station that takes you into Grand Central Station! About a mile away. The downtown is sort of built around the station, and it has a village feel--lots of shops and restaurants. Definitely recommend this spot. We visited family for our nieces first communion in Eastchester a quaint neighboring beautiful vibrant city and chose Springhill Suites because of it was close and conveniently located during our 5 day stay there for our family. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, modern, clean, the staff they are very welcoming, friendly, the complementary breakfast is freshly assorted and services were pleasant. You can find during the early evening a happy hour of coffee tea and other refreshments. Housekeeping was nicely attended each day. Stayed here recently. Rooms are standard and ours was clean. Breakfast is not very appetizing - hard boiled egg with strange taste, bacon, and an egg mcnuthin. If this was offered at Rikers Island, they would riot. The gym is quite small. A couple of treadmills, ellipticals, peloton bike, and some dumbbells. It couldn't have been a better experience. I needed a room for a while because of a conference in the city, and the front desk staff (Rowland) was able to book me a room ahead of time and ensure I had a room on an upper floor. He was friendly and extremely patient with me as I had to change dates more than once due to schedule changes. The room was clean and had perfect modern amenities for my needs. Wife and I went here for a staycation on our 25th wedding anniversary. Made the reservation with a free night certificate. They still charged us the full rate in points. Essentially double charging us. I called half a dozen times and was told "Management" would call is back. They never called back. This was a fine place to stay for the night. Very spacious, free parking with free EV charging (2 Tesla) and free breakfast. The cons for me were that some things were clearly being overlooked by staff in the hotel. Our couch had a huge stain on it, breakfast was not at all what it showed on the website (it was just egg bites and oatmeal, but website showed pastries and fruit) and the shower made a huge mess of water everywhere. For the price, a place with these amenities and space would be great for families, but I think I'd skip it next time. read more

I have never seen a group of people work together with such a high work ethic and enthusiasm to take care of their customers as my wife & I witnessed here. Isabella, Tony, Amber, Herbie, Yasmin (my personal favorite - future GM someday, somewhere), & Ryan are each an all fantastic employees in the hospitality industry and work so hard under the leadership of the outstanding GM Gary. The housekeeping is a whole other story with a bunch of flaws and needs for improvement. They miss a bunch of details (on three different occasions), and the rooms overall are not that clean. I am very familiar with this location. When I need extra help with my baby I will stay at this hotel closer to my parents. I stayed at this hotel when they first opened and had my wedding guests and my husband got ready there everyone was super helpful and friendly and since it was newer at that time everything was cleaned. This was on 2021, fast forward to 2024 when I stayed there recently and I couldn't wait to leave on my two night stay. The sheets seemed like they hadn't been washed. The bed accidentally moved and it was disgusting what I found underneath it. Let's just say I couldn't wait to clean everything when I got home. But we found out on the first day that the pillows and bed were very uncomfortable, making for a terrible sleep. The a/c was broken and needed repair. I'm not sure why this place has only 3 stars- I really liked it. They accepted my request about room location, had a room available as soon as we arrived, and the people were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was way better than I expected. On the last day, they held our bags at no charge. It's well located- a short walk to 5th Ave, Times Sq, and the subway. What more do people need? This was a much better experience than I expected in NYC. My only complaint is the room itself. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent. The worst Hotel I have ever been to, severely understaffed the room wasn't equipped or prepared for the amount of people who would be staying in the room. I had reservations for 4 people to stay and a room that sleeps 6. 1 Adult, 2 teenage children and an infant. They only stocked the room with two towels and a wash cloth. Only one person could bathe or shower. I requested more towels that never came in the window they said it would. We didn't get anything until the next day that I had to call and request clean towels and wash cloths again. They bought one towel and 1 wash cloth, I also asked for some clean sheets so I could change my bed since my infant had an accident. It never came, can you imagine paying all this money and not having clean sheets to sleep in or enough towels and wash cloths so your children can bathe. It's completely unacceptable. Don't waste your money and the complementary breakfast is trash . Your food is cold and undercooked don't eat it unless you like spending your mornings on the toilet. read more

I would like to congratulate Marriott and their research teams. I assume Marriott spent a lot of money finding all the things that really piss off customers. Smell of weed in the hallways at all times check. Showers that never get hot check. Pillows that flatten out to the thickness of a cracker check. Noisy hotel with paper thin wall check. We could hear the people next door having sex,luckily his nickname should be quick draw. Yes the walls are so thin I could hear how disappointed the female was. You could stay here...but why would you? Nice enough rooms. Nice enough staff. Clean enough, decent enough price. Could be one of any of the dozens of hotels dotting southern Westchester. Except for all the small things. They won't clean your room. They don't bother replacing picked over breakfasts with any speed. They won't bring a mattress with the pack and play. They tolerate people smoking weed right outside regularly, smelling up the place. And on and on. Nothing that would ruin a trip, just with all the little inconveniences and so much local competition, is there really a reason to give them your business? I'd say no. The room I was in had a sticky spill that covered the entire floor. I cleaned it with a bath towel but not before ruining my socks. Also the water never got hot in the shower. Rooms were great . Really nice people at the front desk . We were part of a wedding of 100 people staying at the hotel . My problem is if you know that that many people are staying at your hotel would you not have the bar stocked and ready ? The kitchen for the 3 nights we were there didn't have chicken wings ! Also , we ordered tenders that should have been fried but were microwaved then broiled and served with no sauces . I should have known the food was bad when I looked down the bar and the bartender was eating delivered chinese food . I have stayed at many different hotels in the Marriott chain. This one is by far the worst. The good news is that it is fairly clean (although my husband did get a bug bite there) and the people who work there are pleasant. However during our stays we found that the breakfast bar is not restocked throughout the time it is open, the beds are uncomfortable because they are very high off the ground, the drawer space is insufficient, and Wi-Fi access has been problematic although it may finally have been fixed. But the very worst problem most recently is that the door to the bathroom did not slide to a closed position. By the time we realized there was a problem it was too much trouble to ask to change rooms. And then we discovered that not only did the door not slide, it was not hung properly so that a gentle touch caused it to fall over onto the bed. It was so heavy that we could not lift it back up. The potential for physical damage was scary since I was in bed at the time. We've stayed there several times because of its convenient location. Next time we're in the area we'll make do with some inconvenience. read more

New hotel that had the makings for a great stay. Design is modern but ended up being cheap. Walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors. Not just next door noises but you can easily hear their conversation. The HVAC fan is so weak that it can't be used as white noise. Our neighbors decided to watch basketball until late meaning little sleep for me. Bathroom door is a slide that doesn't come close to providing privacy. It blocks the view but nothing else. If you are with family I hope you guys are cool with knowing every little thing each other does in the bathroom. I do mean everything because you can even hear them fold toilet paper and that is with the HVAC on high. read more

I was staying at the Springfield Suites Tuckahoe Westchester County for one week. Initially I called to ask for a corporate rate since I had a business meeting there. I also wanted to see my son & granddaughters . I spoke with a sales Manager Maura Daroczy I began to illustrate what I was going for. She commenced interrogating me about my company as if I didn't own one. This lady needs many hours of customer service training, in addition sales presentation training. Trust me I know I've been training companies for many years. I tried to call her supervisor but my efforts that day were fruitless. I explained what transpired to my son, I firmly said I refuse to stay there. Low and behold I didn't know he called back and spoke with Ms. Idelsi Ceballo. He said that this lady really was different, the consummate professional. And in addition offered us a lower rate. I spoke to Idelsi to go over what she offered us. Her demeanor was very pleasant and came through as a lady of integrity. I booked the 2 rooms when I arrived I wanted to meet Idelsi to thank her, and show her my company AMX to corroborate that I owned the company. Since Maura Daroczy questioned me like a District Attorney in a courtroom . Idelsi welcomed me with the utmost professionalism , and customer service. Last but least it's a small world one day before my checkout. I went to the hotel lobby to personally to thank Idelsi I asked the front desk to please ask her to come to the desk. Instead shockingly another lady came to the desk asking me what do I want with Idelsi in a stern manner oops,it was Maura Daroczy she ASAP dropped her managerial title on me in a gloating manner. It felt like she was alluding to the fact that she was above Idelsi. I trained manager & VPs for years and this is the type of behavior that destroys companies. Maura Daroczy needs a lot of training on customer service & presentation. Other than all this, there was a silver lining the front desk was excellent. And while checking out I said thank you to Idelsi for her amazing customer service. I have an eye for management talent it's what I do train & develop leaders. This young lady is a shining star. She exudes with a very likable persona. She should be managing a district for your company. When people stay at a hotel they want to be appreciated and know we got you. I would stay at this hotel again only after my son & I confirm that Idelsi is working there. I don't do reviews but I had to shed light on the bad service overturned by Idelsi Ceballo. She saved the day and I don't know work background. But I think she should be at the helm and at managers meeting worldwide. If you match a blueprint to her work ethics you would get 5 stars across the board in all of your hotels. read more

We have stayed at Marriott properties for many years and have a gold elite membership, and have been very satisfied, until now. However, we were quite disappointed in our recent stay. at Springhill Suites. At breakfast, there was never any de-caff coffee, and the oatmeal wasn't replaced quickly enough as it ran out. On one day, there was no hot oatmeal at all, just instant which is terrible. Milk for coffee was not replaced on some days.They skimped on soap and supplied only one tiny bar of face soap for several days use.They need more chairs in the eating area. They don't seem to recognize that there are families using the facilities. Since there are often several members in a family, seats have to be moved to accommodate them at a table, thus leaving many tables with no seats at all for the rest of us. I recognize that there is nothing to be done about it, but the trundle beds are a terrible idea. They are at least 6-8 inches higher than a traditional bed, thus making it difficult for senior citizens such as my wife and me to get in and out of bed. After the sheets were replaced (on day 3) I noticed a few dark spots which I assumed were dirt. However, the next morning I had what appeared to be a typical bedbug bite. read more

I cannot say enough about the staff at Springhill Suites and how great they were in coordinating a block of rooms for my wedding. Valene, Rowland and the entire staff did a fantastic job and were extremely helpful. Last but not least, when my car battery died the morning after my stay, a hotel maintenance worker jump-started my car for me. I would absolutely recommend Springhill Suites in Tuckahoe! read more
