I'm currently checked in here and my bed is broken on 1 side and hard as a rock on the other....the first room I got the battery in the lock didn't work so I had to be moved...I got back here tired 40 minutes ago and was looking forward to resting...not happening...the rooms are clean though...I'm so they don't honor you once you've finished serving the country...military discount is only for active duty.... I originally gave this property a 3 but, after being accused of lying about the bed and their lack of concern about their customers, I've changed it...management said nothing was wrong with the bed in rm 519 and that was that...glad I took a photo before I left read more

Absolutely the WORST hotel experience I've EVER had. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I was shocked by both my front desk and Corporate discussions. I booked on the Bonvoy app and tried to use points. I didn't have enough apparently, so I purchased $250.00 worth of points to round out a two night stay. The online reservation must have switched when I changed payment to the points. In any event, the front desk said I only had one night booked, but the amount of points I purchased to cover the second night of my reservation cost more than the cost of a night here. Even writing this review is a TOTAL waste of my time. They stole my points, refused to refund my card the $250.00 so I could simply pay for the $195.00 cost of the room. All my points were stolen, including the new ones I purchased AND they chopped one night of my reservation. The front desk had their hands tied by lousy Corporate policies, so the blame for this debacle rests solely on Marriott Corporate Office. I WILL NEVER STAY AT A MARRIOTT AGAIN! I WILL GLADLY SHARE THIS STORY WITH EVERY ONE OF MY PATIENTS WHO MENTIONS TRAVEL TO ME. I WILL INFORM EVERY PROFESSIONAL COLLEAGUE, FAMILY MEMBER AND FRIEND. The staff was nice and the hotel was clean. Upon arrival, I could smell that the carpets had just been cleaned in the room and the bathroom smells of clorox. We had a small fridge and a coffee station. The area was nice as well. We will definitely be back. read more

My company put me up here for nine days to help with closing a few Greek house kitchens for the summer. This hotel has so much to talk about that I have to use bullet points instead of paragraphs. -amazing staff, friendly, sincere and helpful -take a picture of the breakfast availability, because it changes on the weekend -the scrambled eggs were amazing, there was so much food to choose from, and it was all fresh and deelish -the coffee was made just right -the rooms were spacious and the tv is movable to wherever you are sitting in the room -point the reading light at the ceiling for low light ambiance -housekeeping won't cone to your room, unless you ask (loved this privacy) -there is a weight room -there is a pool -you are close to downtown and lots of good food and good music -beds are roomy and super comfy -there are USB connections everywhere!! read more

Old hotel, but clean. Rooms are not for anything over a party of one. One small bath, with one sink and one Mirror, whether you have 2 queens or one king. Outlets and charging ports scarce. Thermostats have a sensor so that if you are out of the room the air(heat) cut OFF. So you come back to a HOT room. And during the night while you are sleeping (and not moving past the sensor) it cuts off. So you wake up Hot. Who wants to dance around the room in the middle of the night to get the air to come on??? Hallways are always hot and humid. Staff was nice but they need to get this place into 2025!!!! We were there with other guests for an event nearby and we all had the same complaints. Just not any 'good' places to stay in Athens. read more

Very easy and fast check in the receptionist Isabella I think her name was, she was extremely nice and gave excellent customer service. The hotel room was very nice no problem on my end except maybe the shower floor tiles were a bit uncomfortable and the closet door was slightly tough to open but over all a very nice clean place and the breakfast was delicious for a hotel breakfast. read more

This place restored my faith in Marriott. I was very pessimistic after my last experience at the Marriott in LA which was expensive and had smelly rooms. This place reminds me of the W chain. Very chic, convenient and inexpensive. They have free internet, expansive hot breakfast, free admission to the huge gym next door, pool, free parking and very nice big clean rooms. Service was great too. All the other Marriotts should take some tips from this place. read more

I enjoyed my stay here completely. The lobby and room were both beautiful and the staff was wonderful to deal with. I stayed here for a wedding and was so pleased with the hotel. The room cleaning staff were so nice! I ran into them in the hallway and the loaded me up with little shampoos when I asked. They even gave me a bunch of extra coffee for my room when they realized I drank some. If I am ever in the area again I will gladly return here. read more

We usually stay at the downtown location, but it was full. Overall, downtown is much cleaner, the staff is nicer and more attentive, and the space is better appointed. We won't make the mistake of staying at the West location again. After fully unpacking, we realized the bathroom mirror was emitting a red pinprick light, resembling a camera. We called up the front desk who also called up housekeeping. Housekeeping immediately said they've known about the light but have done nothing to resolve the issue nor have they reported it to management. It's 2023, and housekeeping is acting clueless about guest safety. They blamed it on the integrated mirror light failing, which they had no proof of such. Of course we refused to stay in the room due to the uncertainty of the origin. They moved us into an even smaller room than before, and nothing was done to offset the major inconvenience incurred of packing, unpacking, and losing space. Both rooms were also placed next to the elevator. As a Platinum Elite Bonvoy member, I'm floored at the treatment. I would hate to see how a non-tier member would be treated after this. Also, what happened to drawers for unpacking? How do you have a suite for five with only one drawer and one suitcase rack? read more

This is my preferred hotel when I travel to Athens for business. The rooms are modern and the staff is friendly. To top it off, Marriott rewards members get a free bottle of water, which I appreciate. The only downside is that it is on the outskirts of Athens. However, there are some decent restaurants a short drive away, including Bone Island Grill. read more

We stayed here while visiting our UGA student, it is 8 miles from campus. Granted if you don't have a car it may not work out for you. But if you do, the savings is pretty significant and in our opinion well worth it. It is nice to stay somewhere you don't have to tip or get charged an extra fee everytime you turn around. This SpringHill is the nicest I have ever stayed at. I tend to not be a huge fan of the SHS's and usually avoid them if I can. However, we will definitely stay here again. The decor in the rooms and the hotel is modern and cute. They keep it very clean, and are extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in a King Suite and while it isn't super large, they did a nice job in creating 2 separate spaces making a long stay a little more enjoyable. You get free Wifi which we had absolutely no issues with and we were running 2 computers on it from our room. Free parking and free breakfast. Eggs, fresh waffles, coffee, muffins, sausage, yogurt, cereal, grits, oatmeal and a few other items I believe. We also used the pool during our stay. It is small but it was quiet, we had it to ourselves and had a nice day there. The hotel is surrounded by trees and not a concrete jungle and it was nice to hang at the pool and listen to birds chirping. In room you get a coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave and bar sink. All little things that can save you several bucks if you are staying more than one day. It was clean, comfy and a bargain and we will definitely be back when visiting our student. read more

I give 4 stars only because I tend to reserve 5's for the smaller businesses with less funding to compete with the big ones. This is a big chain, but gives very nice service. The room is large, with a work desk; a hint of a kitchen (microwave, sink and refrigerator); a pull-out sleeper and a large bathroom. The room and bathroom are very clean. The bed linens are clean and was a comfortable sleep. The breakfast was very nice - broad selection, including waffles and cooked items as well as cold things - and also clean service area. "Hand" foods, eg pieces of breads for toasting, bagels, etc were already packed into baggies, which assured cleanliness, but sure created a lot of plastic waste. Like the intent, but would hope they'll consider changing to waxed baggies or parchment paper separators or something other than plastic. The front desk staff was very friendly, efficient, and welcoming. Great job with them! Hallway noise and neighbors' doors sounds were VERY easily heard - left our unit fan on all night to drown that out. I guess thin walls save construction money, but I really don't want to hear the foot traffic or the doors banging and bolting lock. I would stay here again, though, because I like clean rooms!! read more

I was seriously disappointed in this stay-- I have always had excellent experiences at Marriotts and have started exclusively staying at them when possible, and while most of my experience was fine the things that grated on me were big enough to spoil the trip. The entire facility was very clean and neat, and the front desk staff was extremely friendly and personable. I loved that instead of peppermints or some other run of the mill candy, they had those chupa chups lollipops at the front desk. While some places are really strict about taking breakfast down at 9a, they seemed to keep it up as long as people were coming down, which was nice not only for late risers but because the food gets eaten instead of tossed. Breakfast was your average hot breakfast-- waffle iron, grits, oatmeal (w/ brown sugar and raisins for add ins!) plus cereal with soy and regular milk, bagels and toast with cream cheese, honey, and jams. There is free wi-fi but I found it to be entirely sketchy and unreliable; I eventually gave up trying to get any work done so I've been working all weekend to catch up on things I should have been able to get done after my conference let out for the day. The next biggest problem came with the construction. The walls were paper thin and the door had an huge gap at the bottom so whenever someone opened a door or knocked on a door it sounded like someone was trying to get in to MY door. I woke up every time! The other problem was the gap let in an enormous amount of light and was right in eyeline with the bed. Every time I rolled over facing the door I was woken up by the light! Back on the upside, there are elipticals and treadmills on site, and there's admission to the gym next door. There's free parking (one of the reasons I'm big on Marriotts, they tend to buy property that allows them on site parking), and it's quite convenient to Athens proper and several stores and shops nearby. The rooms also come with a microwave, sink, and refrigerator. IF I stay here again, I would bring earplugs and plan on setting pillows or a blanket down at the bottom of the door. If I had known this ahead of time, it would have left me only with a bad taste in my mouth about the wi-fi. (I was in town for a professional conference and was supposed to be working remotely.) read more

A wonderful location. New extremely clean and very quiet the staff especially the desk staff ( Joyce ) were about the best, friendliest, and most helpful I've ever stayed with. The breakfast was actually great and even though they were busy the cleanest area ever by far The only down side was the modern currently trendy room furnishings which included a sofa which was lovely but as most these days uncomfortable. And there were no dresser or night stand drawers to store items. I'm not a fan of having my personal stuff open and displayed on a shelf under the tv and hate living out of a suitcase the entire time. The beds were comfortable and cozy however and that the real reason to be there right? Don't let the ongoing hwy construction put you off. Other than the currently missing street and road signs you cant really see and more importantly hear the work at all from the rooms Just know the hotel is on a hill above the road and turn at the QT station since the road signs are missing. Stayed one night during Masters Week and it was pretty nice. The room was clean. The beds are a bit too soft for me and the HVAC was a little noisy and drafty that we had to had to put the desk chair in front of it because the vents couldn't be directed. The viewing angle for the TV is only good from one of the two beds and really not viewable from the sitting area of the "suite." The morning breakfast was pretty good and the staff was friendly. At about $150 a night, three stars seems about right. read more

My husband and I stayed here while visiting Athens. The hotel is located on the west side of town. The check in process went quickly. The rooms were large suites with a couch, desk, bar area with refrigerator and coffee maker. The shower is in a separate room from the sink. Everything at this fairly new hotel is very clean. The area is quiet yet close to restaurants - would need a car though. The free breakfast offered lots of variety - scrambled eggs (optional cheese, spinach, etc.), fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, fresh waffles, juices, coffee, and more. The breakfast staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here next time we visit Athens! read more

My wife and I stayed here for New Year's weekend and had a great stay. The hotel is very clean without a chemical smell. The service was great from the front desk to the bartender to the person who brought us the extra pillows. The room was a nice size and very modern while very comfortable. There is a pretty good breakfast buffet, but no restaurant on site. That isn't much of a problem since there are plenty of restaurants in the area as well as many delivery options as well. No, it is not the Ritz Carlton, and for it being a Springhill suites it is more than I would have expected. Even after coming from a 4.5 star boutique hotel in Manhattan. This place is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in terms of cleanliness, pricing, service, and convenience. Every time I come here, the room feel new and clean. The only drawback is their internet does not allow you to send out emails via Microsoft Outlook. It can be really inconvenient if you're a businessman who needs to use email all the time. The Courtyard in downtown athens will let you, but it's not as clean. read more
