Love this brewery! Great food and great beer some of the best sours in the country!!! The bartenders are always polite and knowledgeable! And the place is always clean and fun environment!

I visited on trivia night and the crowd was large. The dining room was packed so I sat at the bar. Kate was very prompt and I asked for a menu, again very prompt. Varied menu with a large range of food, from snacks to full dinners. I was torn between the mushroom Swiss burger and the brat with kraut so I asked Kate. She helped with the choice. The kitchen was backed up and Kate kept me apprised of my wait. The burger and a side of Brussels sprouts were worth the wait. Very well prepared and delicious.

Would never think a college town brewery could serve up any other food besides burgers and fries but I was wrong. Chicken Marsala stood out to me so I took the chance and added a side of their Brussels sprouts. Great flavor, loved the crust on the Marsala and all of the caramelized onions. Brussels were nice and crispy. Mashed potatoes had good flavor but were cold. I'd come back anyways. No biggie. Came on a Tuesday night and it was packed due to trivia. Still able to find a seat at the bar with no problem.

This was pure randomness checking out this brewery. Had come up this way for volunteer work with an organization that builds enclosures for chained up dogs, and they all had beers here afterwards. I've heard of this brewery previously, but it slipped my mind. It's in a weird spot. Unique in a sense bc it blends in to the suburban strip. You'd almost think it was just a small warehouse. Certainly lots of seating on the inside though, and plenty more on the outside. Check out their bathrooms, just saying. Drink enough to make yourself go pee, it'll be worth it. They serve pretty decent food here, so you can make it a brunch spot (they got brunch alcohol too, aside from the beer, in case you're wondering). I got the fish and chips (French fries, which were more like breakfast potatoes). The cod was huge and the jalapeño tartar sauce was excellent ... just didn't have a big kick to it. For my beers, I did the Blonde Ale (that was a big hit and took some home). It had a slight coffee smell and taste to it, which was unique. I also did a flight: sour, saison, lager and stout. The sour was very good, and was my second favorite out of them all. They are pretty heavy on the IPAs here, if that's your style, so didn't get too much to choose from. Overall, loved the atmosphere and the brewery. It's worth a trip to check out!

This place is super cool. From the decor the outdoor seating to the bar is very industrial and beautiful. Now the food A1 I've been there at least three times. Every time service is great whether I'm at the bar or outside. They have a great selection of their own beer on tap. Not a lot of selection for bourbon but that's OK. Highly recommended

Love the atmosphere here! And love that they serve food along with their delicious beer! To-go cans are available, and you can sit at the bar or at a table. Good service and great beer!

The coconut cream pie had flavor of cocoon every bite. They have indoor and outdoor seating and lots of it. They have several places to order drinks throughout the seating areas. This was very nice and comfortable.

There is a sign at The Southern Growl that reads, in effect, that if your pet or your child…read moreproduces waste on the premises, you are expected to clean it up. I read it three times, not because I misunderstood it, but because I wanted to confirm that it listed pets and children in that order, which it did, and that tells you something about the sequence of problems they've encountered on the lawn, though I've decided not to find out what exactly. With that said, the lawn is not exactly a lawn at all, unless you consider granite rocks as a lawn, which the residents of Elberton, Georgia do as it is considered the "Granite Capital of the World." Elberton this is not. This rocky lawn is to be filled with Bichon Frisés and children in ball caps, and on the afternoon I visited it was doing exactly that. There was a dog near the covered bar area moving through the patio with the serenity of an animal who has never once been told that other people exist. His owner stood nearby holding a beer and looking proud, which is a face I recognized, because I have a son and have stood next to him with that exact expression at least twice in public places where I should have known better. I had the Radiant Positivity, a sour ale at 6%, which sounds like something printed above a middle school guidance counselor's desk but turned out to be genuinely good, all grapefruit and a tartness that knew when to stop. I thought about ordering the Kamp Jam, a 4% light lager described as tasting like shared laughter and the unbreakable bonds of friendship, and decided I wasn't there yet. The owners opened this place in 2014 and have expanded it three times since, which tells you something about Greer that it probably already knows about itself but that the rest of the area is still catching up on. Consequentially, Greer itself has also expanded its waistline 3 times since 2014 but that's a discussion for another time. I thought about asking about the Southern Sanctum, an American Tripel, but the afternoon had reached the evening and a point where a Tripel felt like a commitment that deserved more deliberation than I had left in me. I paid my tab, which was reasonable in a way that surprised me given the quality of everything, said goodbye to nobody in particular, and drove home thinking about the Kamp Jam, and whether the unbreakable bonds of friendship were something I'd get to eventually.
