5 stars for totally BLOWING us away. You can stop your search for a wedding/engagement shoot photographer because I found him for you! You're welcome. Some photographers get 5 stars for following through on their contract. Some get 4 stars for delivering their products LATE. Spritta Photography not only followed through on the contract, but made the entire process SUCH a BREEZE for my fiancé and I. We are so thrilled that we had to opportunity to work with Sam, the photographer behind Spritta. Now let me tell you why you need to hire him ASAP and why he's worth your investment (with some stipulations).
The most important element of a good photograph is the ability of the photo to tell a story through its composition, lighting, and subject matter. You can trust Sam to tell your story through his photos. Story Time: We had gone on another photoshoot with a different professional during the winter and my fiancé had chosen this professional for his Wistful Romantic feel. Our pictures came out just stunning BUT we didn't feel that the poses and expressions really reflected us as a couple. It showed our romantic side but that's not our everyday. With Spritta, we communicated that we were willing to do silly faces/ funny poses, because that's really who we are. We're silly people. You can SEE that in the pictures I've attached to this review. You might even be able to FEEL our laughter. That's the power of Spritta's work.
He's a breeze to work with. Everything was clearly communicated and agreed upon ahead of the shoot. We talked about what types of images we were going for, what outfits we would bring, and the message/mood we were trying to convey through the pictures. We met him in downtown around noon. He was at our meeting place early, was very professional throughout the entire process, and very quick to respond to our many questions. While outfit changes were possible, we decided not to do one because we wanted to get more pictures in different locations. He let us know how quick his turnaround time would be AND he stuck to it. You'll see in some other photographers Yelp reviews- they slack on the back end. Not with Spritta. You can trust that he'll deliver when he says he will. If for some reason he can't, he'll be sure to communicate with you about it.
Throughout the shoot, he was also fun to work with. He wanted us to feel at ease and just interact with each other the way we normally do. He was funny, easy to connect with, and made us feel more comfortable about being in front of the camera. He reminded us to smile, face towards the camera, check our outfits, and paid attention to the little details that can detract from the image. He suggested a lot of different poses and we came with a few of our own in mind. High noon is a rough time for photoshoots but that was the only time we were available. Sam was willing to accommodate our time restraints and the results were impressive. As a master of lighting, he knew where to pose us and how to use his tools do there wouldn't be the harsh top-down look that often comes with high noon light.
His strong suit includes movement pictures- which are very hard to capture. Posed images are great, but capturing those fleeting moments are even more valuable. I would recommend him for family portrait sessions, toddler sessions, and of course wedding/engagement sessions because he has the skills to capture those precious, but fleeting, moments.
These pictures will be with you for your lifetime. You know that. That's why you're looking up photographer reviews. If you're going to drop a good chunk of change on a photographer, make sure their style fits yours and that you're going to be happy with the end result. We could not be happier about the results Spritta delivered. I've already spread the word about him to my friends so you should book quick, he might be booked out a couple months :P
Stipulations:
Don't go with Spritta if you want the photographer to do all the work for you. Yes, he'll help with posing, but capturing your true essence will be incredibly challenging if you're stiff/don't have an idea of what you want. Know what you want. Talking to the photographer ahead of time can give you some direction. Have those images on your phone ready to consult. That's why pinterest exists.
You have to be willing to communicate with the photographer. Let him know what you're comfortable with and what you're not. High knees, twirling in a fabulous skirt, skipping, jumping, movement pictures look fantastic.
The end: I can't recommend Spritta enough. I tried to write the most glowing review I could possibly imagine + answer any questions that people might want answered. I would honestly be happy to talk about my experience with Spritta in more detail if you want to learn more. Just PM me through Yelp. Go with him. You won't be sorry. read more
