Cute little cafe with a lot of fresh options. Unfortunately the food was just okay. The amount of food they gave was generous, but nothing I'd go back for. We had the chicken sandwich, some salads, flatbread and kids quesadilla. The quesadilla hardly had any cheese, which if you have a kid you know that means it wasn't a hit. We also ordered our son a fruit smoothie and he said it was gross. After trying it, my husband and I both agree- you couldn't taste fruit, just almond milk. The food is very good. But if customer service is at all important to you, this is not the place. I drive over an hour to get here and the last three times, the staff treats me like I'm a burden. One example, the second time I was in, I asked about the size of a to go dish. They would only tell me small, or large. No example. I asked to see the container size and it was obviously way to much to ask. Today, I got there before they opened, not realizing I was 19 minutes early. The sign on the front of the building said "open." The staff were clearly unhappy to see me. I asked if I could sit and wait, no rush, but it was raining outside. This place is a hidden gem, the food literally everything there is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere in this place is very relaxing and chill. Will definitely recommend this to anyone if you just want a burger the shroom cap is better than any hamburger I have every had. Gastonia, sometimes you surprise me. Sometimes I feel like a jerk for making fun of you. This afternoon was one of those times. Sprouts is downstairs the absolutely adorable organic grocery in a beautiful mid century building. It is in the basement- which is weird to see in this area of NC. There is a little outdoor area. It is decorated exactly how you want a place like this to be decorated. They have a good thing going I ordered there hummus wrap. I think they stuffed it with too many sprouts, but I can't really complain because the restaurant is named sprouts. I definitely want to come back for juice and to try out the menu a little more. Gluten Free Gold had an amazing lunch driving from Greenville SC to Raleigh NC. When you have food allergies finding healthy and delicious eats along the highways can be a challenge. When you walk into a cafe and they tell you anything on the menu can be ordered GF you want to do a happy dance. Jealous of folks who live close enough to visit this cafe on a regular basis. The location was in a beautiful spot of Gastonia. The cafe itself is behind an organic grocery spot and you can drive either side of the store to get to the back in a loop. There's lots of parking for how small the cafe is. Outside there is an adorable garden and that's where they get most of (all?) their produce. I went in and ordered at the counter. They have menus by the counter and they also have a special board. I took a look at the special board and decided on their lunch special the Turkey Avocado Biscuit. It tasted amazing. It was perfectly balanced for my taste buds. The sandwich had grilled turkey - think slices, none of that deli meat crap - kale - I love kale - the goat cheese was the best I'd ever had - some sort of aoli I think - a perfectly fried egg and a homemade buttery biscuit. It's not on their regular menu but I've been told they can make that particular sandwich anytime because they have all the ingredients. I loved the kombucha I got. read more

We were looking for a place for lunch that would satisfy a both a vegan and an omnivore and Sprouts Cafe was a great find (thank you Vanilla Bean app!) the cafe is around the back of an organic market with plenty of parking and a nice view of trees and a whole host of sunflowers which was unexpected. Added bonus of watching goldfinches flitting among the flower heads . My vegan burger with a side of fruit was delicious- not the usual frozen black bean patty that some restaurants serve. My husband ordered the Greek style grass fed burger which he said was juicy and delicious. Would definitely go back. read more

Stopped here for lunch during a pre-Thanksgiving road trip. Knowing we'd be eating lots of treats on Turkey Day, we wanted to eat a fresh and healthy meal, and I was in the mood for a big salad. This was the perfect place. Lots of healthy options. The arugula salad with fresh berries and dried cranberries fit the bill perfectly and was very delicious. My husband's hummus plate had a nice variety of tasty accompaniments, such as olives and nuts, as well as pita bread, although the hummus was a little too thick to our liking. Also would have preferred less spice in the hummus and a cleaner, brighter, and perhaps more lemony flavor. I work in Gastonia once a week and quickly got tired of eating at chain restaurants and found this place through a search. I've been there the past 3 weeks and have tried something different every time and have been blown away by each meal. Everything is incredibly delicious, fresh, and healthy. Also, their staff has been friendly and the restaurant is impressively spotless. They have a pretty wide selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with a focus on independent breweries and healthy, but tasty drinks. I'm very impressed by this restaurant and it's obvious that everyone working there takes great pride in their food and their image. read more

It's a vegetarian/vegan restaurant (which they don't advertise) you find out when you get there and prices are through the roof in my opinion. The location is hard to find.
