3rd Sunday breakfast last 3 weeks, it's turning into a Sunday tradition. Wife tried the country fried steak, I went for the double country fried steak what a great choice, this isn't a frozen a bag breaded patty. It's hand breaded real deal. The staff all are attentive but 2 stand outs last two visit has been Angel has waited on us on target, funny,personable and all over the place. Today was Nancy, friendly , made a great impression. Don't choose a book by its cover. From the outside it doesn't look like much. Even when walking in it's not even a warm fuzzy feeling. But the service and food were delicious. Food that I got was ok I made a DoorDash order and didn't get one of my items and then when I called, they told me that it was out of stock and it's been out of stock since yesterday, but it was still on their DoorDash. No one called to give me something to substitute it for nobody told my DoorDash to call me no one done anything and when I was on the phone with the manager she gave me lots of attitude about the whole thing telling me it's out of stock and that I can come pick something else up but I made a DoorDash for a reason so I wouldn't have to go out. read more

I would not recommend anyone. Restaurant advertises that they close at 3 PM Eastern. Drove halfway across town with 15 minutes to spare; as I walked up to the door, heard an employee lock the door. Instead of having a sign posted to say that GRILL shuts down 15 minutes before close or someone actually say it, they have customers waste their time. I'll spend my money elsewhere happily. read more

I really want to love this place, I live 2 minutes from here. Last time I was in there they have changed the process of paying for your meal. They used to leave the check on the table and you take it up to the counter, now you pay at the table. Well I didn't know so I sat at the counter for 7 minuet Ed with my ticket in hand while one waitress walked up and ignored me multiple times. I then asked her to pay, she quickly said at the table. Well she already sat someone at the table I was at. I asked if she could get my waitress so I don't have to stand over other tables, being COVID season and all. She said no, that she was busy and I would have to. So I have to go and stand next to the drink station to wait for the waitress and for her to process my check. This all could have been resolved my easier. The food is mediocre, service is usually below par although there's one waitress who is always nice. I've given it so many chances but that's it, I'm done with this place. read more

I recently visited Mount Holly Grill for breakfast with my daughter and grand daughter. The service was quick and friendly. I had 2 eggs over medium, hashbrowns, livermush, cheese grits and toast. They brought out SO MUCH FOOD!! It was all very delicious. The eggs were perfect, the livermush was nice and crispy, the grits were cheesy and hot and the toast was hot and freshly buttered. I haven't had a breakfast that tasted this good in a really long time. If you're looking for somewhere to go for a great breakfast, Mount Holly Grill is the perfect place. I was racially profiled yesterday when I went to this place. It was my first time there physically but I always DoorDash from there. No more will I eat there. Two women standing there. Myself and a Caucasian female. Worker came out helping the the other person. Went back to the back not acknowledging me. I stood at the counter with. Open menu watching her. Stopped in for lunch today 11/18/19 and I have to say I had one of the nastiest hamburgers here I have had in a very long time. Ordered the lunch special Blue Max which was a bacon, bleu cheese hamburger. Hamburger was a frozen patty and instead of bleu cheese crumbles, they poured a nasty ass, cheap bottled bleu cheese dressing on the burger. YUCK!! Who the hell does that?? Someone cutting corners and taking the cheap way out, that's who! Plus 2 strips of bacon and nothing else, I mean nothing, no mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, nothing! It was not worth the $6.50 price tag, not even half of that. I must have been the only one to make a bad choice 'cause wife said her grilled cheese ( $4.25 for a grilled cheese sammich, really??) and bowl of potato soup were good as did Mom-N-Law who loved her vegetable plate. Said she could have ate more of the apple cobbler. Plus the inside is very old, outdated and sad looking. The springs in the seat cushion in our booth felt like they needed to be replaced decades ago. Like they say you only get one chance to make a first impression and I was not impressed! Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! I don't even know where to start...the waitress was rude (didn't catch her name because she never gave it). I ordered eggs, hash browns with onions and cheese and corned beef hash and the husband ordered the All American. The waitress comes back, sits my plate down and says, "they forgot your onions and cheese" and walks away. She never asked if I'd like it corrected or even apologized! Husband's food comes out 2 or 3 minutes later and he never got his pancakes with his breakfast. The waitress never came back to ask if we needed anything. The manager, however, was nice enough to take the husband's meal off the bill considering he didn't get half of it. We definitely will not be back. read more

I only give this a two star review for the food, but I was locked out of the bathroom for whatever reason, and I know that is what they are doing because I knocked on the door and no one was in there. I am a paying customer. I am not homeless from off the street walking in. My clothing is clean, and even still it is a public restroom. I've been coming here for years and gotten nice treatment out the mouth, but in action this is different. Them having the internet is convenient, but not this. This is my assessment. Holly told us of the "great food (specifically breakfast fare) served here at two-months' old Mount Holly Grill, which used to house Black's Bluewater Seafood and Grill. I was apprehensive of the quality of food I was going to find, since this definitely looked like a hole-in-the-wall from the outside, and the indoor layout and furnishings didn't do much to smash my apprehension of dining here. However, my inquiry into what went into the Alfredo sauce (heavy cream, not cornstarch) used in one of today's specials, Fettucine Alfredo with either chicken or shrimp, made me feel less anxious. This entree came with a house salad, but I asked if fries could be substituted, instead (yes). It also came with tea, which I gave to my sis. She ordered a chicken salad sandwich, with fries. I also ordered a cup of coffee- great aroma and flavor, but made my stomach hurt- I suspect it might be of the bagged variety. The chicken fettuccine Alfredo was delicious! We told him that we'd met a coffee shop clerk who told us about MHG, and so I'd asked if it had just opened up. He said, "Yes. A couple of weeks, well, one, or two months." Stumbled upon this place looking for a spot to have breakfast one morning. Wasn't really sure what to expect, but for a small country diner-ish spot is was great! The service was fast and friendly and the food was pretty good. If you're looking for a fancy breakfast spot I wouldn't recommend this place. But for good reasonably priced food and great service, I would definitely give it a try. read more

This place used to be great but has gone downhill post COVID. They don't require all staff to wear masks and only one waitress was wearing one. The place didn't feel exceptionally clean or sanitary.
