We left after one horrible night in the Victorian Manor house. There were cobwebs and dead bugs everywhere, upstairs bedrooms had a layer of dust on bedspreads. One shower was basically non-functional. The Master Bedroom shower had no light and the sinks drained slowly. The kitchen sink had bugs flying out of the disposer. The window AC units did not keep the place cool. There aren't any closets to hang clothes. There weren't any night stands for the master bed and it was difficult to find outlets to charge phones. The main door had a visible gap under it. There was torn/loose wallpaper throughout. This facility has seen some hard use and little or no repair. The house looked like it was being used for storage both inside and out. Outside, there were junk cars stored nearby. Everything just looked or felt dirty and cluttered. We thought that with three couples it would be a nice place to relax and socialize, but it was the exact opposite. The six of us were never SO happy to leave this miserable facility, check into a regular hotel, take a shower and feel clean again! Customer service is virtually non-existent with several contacts going unanswered and most others taking 24 hours before getting some reply. Reporting ALL these issues were dismissed even though we have photographic proof of the horrible condition! It's really unfortunate that this facility ruined our weekend getaway:-( But, I'd look elsewhere before staying here! read more

This place is a dump. Pictures are deceiving. Had booked there in June 2023. Arrived at 3 to check in and a lady came running out and said it wasn't ready. Her and the maintenance guy kept arguing. The place was dirty and the toilet looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. The grass was so high I could barely see my little dog when we arrived. Very out dated. These cottages do not need to be advertised. They're disgusting. read more

The internet lies?!?! This place is nothing like the pictures they post on their website. We had more light switches and lightbulbs in our cabin that didn't work than those that did. The cabin had an extricate fireplace in which there was no flame light or no heat. The wifi was one bar when it worked at all but we didn't get a text informing us of the wifi network and password until 10:30 pm after checking in at 3. We paid extra for a room with a jacuzzi tub. Less than halfway full, and we were out of hot water. Chipped paint all over, a front door that you could open to about 45 degrees before hitting the refrigerator, and no steps (just four thrown together 12x12 pavers thrown down on top of one another) were just some of the additional disappointments. I would say that these "cottages" should be closer to $50 rather than the $200 a night they get. Fooled me once...you won't again. I would like to add that I left something behind and was contacted by them about getting it back to me. That was certainly appreciated and I want to point this out as a positive if the business. read more

No no no. I'll start with the pros first: the location is cozy. The idea of a bunch of cottages on a mountain with a little lake sounds lovely, and the location is easy to find, while just the slightest bit off the beaten path so you can enjoy nature without hearing the freeway. Cons: FILTHY. So filthy. First of all, the first building you encounter, which you assume would be where you check in at looks abandoned. When I arrived to my cottage, a woman, whom I couldn't tell was the owner or house keeping had just finished "cleaning" it. Nope. While the sheets were clean and the bed was made, that was about it. The carpet had disgusting stains everywhere that they tried to cover up with an area rug (that I was just as hesitant to make contact with). The bathroom floor was dirty, and the jacuzzi was yellow and looked like it hadn't been used in years, complete with dead spiders. I opened up the shower each morning to find several dozen ants, their droppings, and a spider or two to keep them company. Other travel companions also had dirty rooms with bugs. And one when they checked in to their cottage found a young man living there, presumably the owner's son. They had to come back later so they could clear his stuff out. They also found him under the cottage later trying to get the WiFi? Speaking of, there was no WiFi. Oh, and random trash bags that side outside for at least 24 hours. Housekeeping only came once in my four or five day stay. If this place were to get a full deep cleaning and remodel, I'd come back. Until then, NOPE. read more

I would recommend this only if you want to go skiing, want a cabin-like room & need a kitchenette. Otherwise, I feel like it is overpriced (fifty dollars less is what I would've paid). I went for a romantic birthday for my husband & we were expecting luxury for the price we paid. However, it was more of a cabin-like feel. Pros were jacuzzi tub & fireplace. Cons were I couldn't sleep well in hard mattress, no clear check in/out procedures (they had us call them when we got nearby & left the key in the unlocked room), no clothing/coat hangers & no phone in room. Also, there was a party going on & it was snowing so parking was inconvenient. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. The person in charge went way above and beyond to accommodate us. The place is beautiful, homey and comfortable. I've never seen my dog so relaxed at a getaway as he was here. It is so perfect because it is away from all the hustle and bustle, a quiet country area and yet all the restaurants and stores are less then 5 minutes away. When we come to this area again, we will defiantly be staying here. read more

My family rented one of the larger houses for a weekend retreat. AWFUL. Mouse Dropping all over the place, Had to kill a live mouse that was tormenting us in the FILTHY! Mouse killing chemicals about the house. No walks were shoveled, Driveways and Parking areas not plowed. Coffee pot broken and personal items of the owner jammed in all the closets. No concern from the manager. All of that for $1200 for the weekend. NEVER again. Please consider somewhere else before you book here. read more

Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this disaster. My boyfriend and I drove two hours here for my birthday. We drove up a pothole ridden dirt road to the cottages. The entire place was extremely unmaintained. The grass was mown in some spots but not others and the weeds were out of control. Everything was overgrown and did not look like the pictures on their website. We could not find any place to check in, so we pulled up to the main house where there was a party going on. I called Elizabeth a little after 2:30 PM and she said she'd meet us at our cottage. We pulled up to cottage #121 and the first thing I noticed was that there were two concrete cinder blocks where the steps should be. I was a little put off, but hey, it's my birthday and I'm still hopeful. When you immediately walk in, the place looks cute until you actually start looking around. I put my purse on the desk table and it almost fell over on me. The front leg was not attached so the table was not usable without it practically falling apart. The lamp on the table had wall paint on it and there were a bunch of pieces of the lampshade busted out. The ceiling had cobwebs hanging from it and right above the bed there were big black spots that look like mold, water damage, or both. The chandelier was dusty and the lights were really bright...when they worked. There is a little fireplace that gives off heat and lights up for ambiance, but the light didn't work so we could not enjoy that at night. We stepped out onto the patio to hang the cushions on the lounge chairs to dry since it had rained. One of the two lounge chairs were broken so we both could not use them together. The main house on the property was directly across from our patio which wasn't a really big deal until later when you want to try to relax and there are kids water sliding below you. So, back inside, there are two, or supposed to be two, sconces on either side of the TV. One is missing and the second one is barely usable because it is falling out of the wall. There are also two crooked sconces at the head of the bed that are also loose and dusty. The toilet paper holder was literally falling off the wall and the shower door was broken. It did not close because it was detached from the studs and was wobbly and really hard to use without getting water all over the floor because the door wouldn't shut. The toilet seat was also broken so you had to basically balance yourself so you didn't fall off it. The jacuzzi, which was barely big enough for two people and had a broken jet that scratched my boyfriend's back up. The kitchenette had a few mismatched dinner plates that still had someone else's food dried on them, four mismatched drinking cups and a couple utensils thrown in a drawer. There was one small trash can with one bag in it but no towels, napkins or extra trash bags. The decor is really cheap and oddly decorated. The mirror in the bathroom had fall pumpkin stickers all over it and was dusty enough to run your finger through it. There was a dusty fake plant in the corner of the jacuzzi that covered discoloration on the wall behind it. Everything is very random. There are scuff marks all over the walls. The bed was nice but had two super flat pillows on it. We found spare pillows in the wardrobe but they were stained and yellow; definitely nothing I would put my head on. But there were no pillowcases to do that even if we wanted to. The wardrobe had three hangers in it, one of them broken. We had driven two hours to get here and had nowhere else to go so we made the best of it and spent most of the night on the patio. When I addressed all of these concerns with Elizabeth the next morning she said she would talk to her boss and call me the next day. I got a text the next day saying they would refund $30 that would be taken out of the cleaners pay. I replied and said that was unacceptable and I wanted to speak to someone. Elizabeth then called me and proceeded to interrupt me and talk over me when I tried to tell her what we thought was acceptable. She was rude and continued to argue with me saying that we stayed and we could have gone somewhere else. We were two hours away from home! We had nowhere else to go. She agreed to refund us $100 and we ended the conversation. Then she immediately texted me and wanted me to take down the bad review we had posted...we did NOT post a review! When I told her that we would post reviews wherever we wanted, she said she would not refund us now because we would leave a bad review. This turned into two days of her arguing with me through text, saying that we were petty and unfair and demanded compliance from us that we would not post bad reviews. It was absolutely ridiculous. This was the worst experience of my life. It is beyond me how a business owner would treat a customer this way and I am appalled that she thinks this is an acceptable way to run a business. read more

We stayed in one of the cottages during our honeymoon in 2007 As we were leaving our reception we were going into a bad snow storm. We called to say we were on our way,but may be late due to the blizzard. We got there and they did the room up beautiful for us. There were rose petals as we walked in,a basket of fruit and chocolates then a bottle of sparkling juice along with a note to congratulate us on our marriage. This is one of the best place we stayed at. If you're looking for something of Victoria/vintage vibe, definitely the place! The owners are very kind and friendly, as well as hospitable. They dine with the guests and they made sure all needs are taken care of. We loved the nature view from the bedroom. It was definitely a fun, quiet country living! It was a home away from home!
