On the first appointment date they did not show up and provided no call or notification. She had an emergency, I get that and was fine if it was a one-off. We rescheduled, they showed up, and I left them to do the work. I came back in less than an hour and they were already gone and it looked like some very light mopping and that's it. After contacting them about the poor work and the kitchen and bath not being touched they said they weren't done and would be coming back on Tuesday. It's Friday and I haven't heard anything, I'll be disputing the payment.

While there is always room for improvement, they have been doing a great job for us over the past several years. We had another property management company prior to this, and the financials were in a terrible state and repairs took forever. In a community, there is always something to be repaired and complaints about service does happen. It is not an easy task to deal with so many personalities., but our property manager does this with grace and kindness. The property managers I have worked with from Great North have been very accommodating and very professional. What people might not realize is that the property manager works at the behest of the Board of Directors. The Board makes all the financial decisions for the community and works with the property manager in deciding the budget and what maintenance needs to be done. The community votes on the budget each year, and most communities have budget meetings at which the Board or property manager explains the expenses for the following year. The Board of Directors is elected by the homeowners and has a fiduciary responsibility to make sure the community has the funds to maintain the homes and property values, and to fund an adequate reserve account for the future. The property manager is part of this process.
