We are just completing a 2 week stay at Spruce Park RV Resort, and I had to write a review based on our experience since we clearly had a much better experience than some previous guests who wrote reviews. I'll admit, before we arrived, I went back on Campground Reviews, TripAdvisor and Yelp to re-read what others had said, causing me to be super nervous about staying here. Several months prior, we chose and booked this location as we wanted to be more in-town in Kalispell for this portion of our working and playing on the road trip, and we'd driven past this place several times over the years, so we felt the location was ideal for what we needed and wanted. I remember seeing the bad reviews before, but somewhat dismissed them since some were very old reviews. I am giving this place 5 stars for a few reasons. 1. To combat the terrible reviews that in my opinion, are absolutely unwarranted. 2. Because we really liked this location, the staff, the campsites and the facilities. 3. Because this place really deserves a 4.5, and I had to choose. First, to address the anti-nature reviewer about the cottonwood trees. Yeah, they are cottonwood trees and they drop a lot of cottony fibers in July. Sometimes, it looked like it was snowing cotton. First of all, with out these beautiful large trees, this place would not be as nice. This should not deter anyone from visiting here unless you are allergic to cottonwood trees. Next, to combat the mean comments about staff. WTHeck are you people talking about? I encountered the staff several times over the course of our stay and they were kind, friendly, helpful and I was never treated poorly. Perhaps they had hired a bad seed last year and have since gotten rid of that person, or perhaps the reviews were from disgruntled employees, who knows, I just know I had no issues at all. Next, many said there were a lot of rules. Yep, the rules were your typical RV Resort rules to make sure people behave nicely, respect quiet time and take care of their pets in this shared setting. Nothing weird or unusual here at all. The laundry facility was nice. I used it twice. Machines were affordable and the dryers were great huge industrial ones that dried things quickly. Lastly, the road noise is somewhat constant but does lessen as it gets later. I will agree with the noise comments, but we were in an travel trailer and didn't have any issues sleeping. I am not sure I would tent camp here due to the noise, and this park is "in town" and not really a nature experience anyway. Because we were on the river and had no sewer hook-up, we used the showers and restrooms daily. While yes, they aren't new, they were spotless. I found the shower to be super clean every time I used it, and they even placed hooks everywhere, and had a bench in the shower stall changing area, which was great. They even had a little hook in the shower itself so I could hang my shower puff. It's the little things that go a long way. The water pressure and temperature were always perfect. The campsite itself was great. Being right along the river, we put our chairs along the bank and sat there many nights watching the kayakers and boaters go by. My other half was even able to fish in the evenings from the campground. In choosing a site, I recommend the river sites if you can handle not having sewer hookups. I also would highly recommend the sites in either F, G, H or J. We were in F5. If you are considering staying here to explore Glacier NP, you are about 35 minutes from the park entrance. There are closer places in West Glacier, Coram or Columbia Falls. But, if you want to explore several places around the area, it's a good location for being central to Kalispell, Bigfork, Flathead Lake, and only 30 minutes Whitefish. We will definitely be back!

Clean laundry room, adjacent to office.

Well-maintained, pleasant RV park with friendly staff. Large park with lots of trees and grass, and river views. There is a permanent residence area, but it is a separate area from the "short timers" and was not an issue. We had a long pull-through site, with plenty of room for our 27' RV and tow vehicle. But we were very close to our neighbors, and our outside area was a bit underneath the slide out of the rig next to us, but we managed okay. If we go back I would try to get one of the back-in river sites. It was a fairly quiet RV park, but there was a little bit of noise from the nearby highway. It wasn't too bothersome other than the occasional trucker Jake brake noise. Free wi-fi, and it worked fairly well once I got it established on my devices. Laundry room was clean. $2.00 per wash, .25 per 10 minutes to dry. They have very strict rules regarding dogs. (See my photos.) There is an abundance of green grassy areas; some are marked "No dogs allowed", but others were not. Not really clear. $100 fine if you break their dog rules. The park is located along the Flathead River. We enjoyed watching rafters come down the river; but the current is fast. I witnessed two river rescues within hours of each other. Just a reminder to respect the power of nature and use common sense when you are on the river.

Its a bit out of the way in Kalispell between farms, with narrow/tricky streets to contend with. It was a good 15-20 minutes from most of what Kalispell has to offer (Walmart/Shopping/Etc...) and about 35-40 minutes from the entrance to West Glacier. Pro's: 1) One of the cheapest options in Kalispell. 2) Good amount of kids for our boys to play with. 3) Quiet in the back where our site was located. 4) You can wash your RV & Truck!!! Rare these days 5) TMobile was fast enough we didn't need to get out the Starlink. Neutral: 1) Staff was cordial, but I wouldn't say friendly. Had mail sent here (we asked prior and was given the ok). When we went to pick it up, the lady at the front desk told us she was lucky she didn't throw it out as they normally don't accept mail. Packages (Amazon, etc....) are fine but I guess standard mail isn't? 2) Playground is *meh*. Metal slide, so avoid on hot days. Boys mostly played around the swimming pond. Con's: 1) Our particular site was quite muddy, as it rained quite a bit. Others didn't seem as bad. They need to add more gravel to the rear, larger sites. 2) The park has "Seasonal" sites to the side, and double wide trailers (permanent I assume), along with storage facilities and finally the RV park with some cabins built on site. The seasonal area was *rough*. Most of the campers were old & dilapidated with trash and random stuff strewn around. The double wides area were a bit better. Both brought down the feel of this RV park. 3) Trash can's at the rear were overflowing and piling up outside and around. 4) Tree placement on the pull throughs was not ideal. Instead of being able to pull through and go with the flow of traffic, we had to kindly ask our neighbor if they could move their truck so we could pull out and go against the grain so we didn't scrape up the side & roof of our rig. Overall, we wouldn't stay here again. We'd stay closer to Glacier, down in Polson, or somewhere up near Whitefish. We camped at Rocky Mountain Hi RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I love little mom and pop general stores and camp stores and this one did not disappoint. The coffee was perfect. The entire campground is family run...it's owned by the grandparents, and the adult grandkids work there with them. (Plus one other person, I wish I could remember her name...she was great too.) In talking with the owner, Vern, I learned that they've started catering more to the long- term stay campers because the money is more consistent. So about half the full hook - up camp spots, plus the 2 cabins, are filled with permanent residents. They don't take reservations at all anymore, so if you want to just camp there for a short trip, it's first come, first served. There's just something about this place that feels amazing. I'm more of a hotel kind of girl, my boyfriend is the avid camper...and we were doing a combo of camping and hotel stays on this trip. But I actually opted to stay a SECOND night here INSTEAD of a nice hotel. I didn't want to leave! We hope to come back in the summer and bring the kids!

There are a lot of people living in trailers in this park but plenty of spots for travelers. The store has the basics, laundry area and lots of alcohol in a different back room. The only con is that there seems to be several folks drinking, quiet but they are visable . This trip we didn't camp but dumped for $5. Love the trees and grassy sites.
