Really nice place, but the sites are WAY too close together for my taste. No landscaping or fencing…read morein between them so absolutely no privacy. My air intake is on my drivers side & the sites are so close I had to leave my rig because the neighbor was BBQ'in & the smoke was just engulfing my rig. My place smelt like smoke for days. They have a nice laundry facility but the machines seem a worn out, they just don't clean well. Each machine I used had to be cleaned out beforehand as it was full of dirt, twigs & dog hair. The office staff was absolutely lovely & helped us with what we we needed. Dog area is just ok, NO ONE cleans up after their dogs though so it's just full poop. I ended up not even using it because of how nasty it is. They do provide bags & the trash can is always full so idk how there's THAT much poop still in the yard.

One star...yup...here's why: current management is self-serving and completely inept. Good luck if…read moreyou stay here...bathrooms rarely if ever get cleaned during week (never on weekends, and not cleaned for three weeks straight during holidays), filthy laundry room with disgusting washers, long-term residents with 5 kids, 2 adults and 3 dogs in ONE travel trailer, dog poop all over sites, and a screaming pack of juveniles out at ALL year round, clueless manager, expensive (same price year round...even though you'll be quoted less). Some people get a discount and some people don't depends if the manager likes you or not!! I cannot tell you how bad this place is in amount of characters allowed. Owners need to fire the imbecile manager in front office who has this as a second job. This place has been run into the ground! So sad. :(

It made a great "hub" for everything to do in the area and around the lake. It is convenient to Glacier National and does not have all the busyness and congestion of West Glacier. The staff is delightful, friendly and helpful. We WILL be back to Whispering Pines and it will be longer than the 12 nights spent this year !

The road off Hwy. 40 to Whispering Pines seems less than a quarter mile but it makes a huge difference in being able to feel like you're shrouded in rural bliss. It seems like the perfect central location to our primary interests of Glacier National Park, Whitefish, Kalispell, and Bigfork. We've stayed there for the summer season now for 3 years and also appreciate access to many many wonderful hiking trails. The two separate areas of sites in Whispering Pines RV Park (check out the map on the Web site) each pose great options depending on what you prefer: first accessable sites on the entry road are all sunny and surrounded by open fields, drive farther on the campground and choose a site in an area full of trees/shade that seems less open but so welcoming. Shade is what we ended up choosing in the hotter MT summer these days. Original owners were fabulous and new owners are even more so. We are treated like family for sure and I observed similar treatment and welcome for all guests new and repeat customers. My husband and I and our dog Steve will always choose Whispering Pines as our place to stay when we return every year.
