Run by a mother and daughter team - Elizabeth and Elyse Moland - the service here is personal and professional. The shop carries jewelry, wall accents, textiles, and many items from Asia and India. They also do in-home design consultations and custom-ordering to help you create unique, inviting spaces. I bought several pieces of art prints here that were unique and very reasonably priced. The store's little displays give you lots of ideas for colour coordination and current design trends, to help you envision how you might integrate your decor into your living space. I got fairly decent service here and was greeted as soon as I got in the door. I kind of had my heart set on a candle and was disappointed to see they did not have much in stock when I came in but the lady working did help me find a few things and I settled on a soy candle and candle holder. She brought it up to the counter for me but I found it a little off putting when once we got there she turned her attention to another customer who was making a larger purchase then me even though the customer already had a different staff member waiting on her. Even though it took longer for me to be rang in then I would have liked they did make up for it by putting my candle in a pretty bag and tying a beautiful bow at the top. I would probably come in for a browse again if I had some free time but i'm not sure how much I would be willing to spend here.

I can see myself returning whenever I need to buy a special gift for a special someone. As a matter of fact, I did already. I got my mother a glass touch lamp with owls on it. She loves it and uses it as a night light for when she needs to get up in the pee hours. You know what I mean. They've got many themed collectables besides just Bradford. There's Disney, Night Before Christmas, Elvis, Classic cars, Betty Boop and other collectables I don't know how to name but recognize all the same. The prices are sometimes high, but we are talking about collectables. I collect dragons, and not only did they have a nice selection, but I found them to be fairly priced. I've paid more at other stores. The owner is a sweetheart. She likes to chat, but she's not intrusive. She doesn't hover. Honestly, I'm going to shop there whenever I need a gift, because I want to see this place stick around. I recommend you at least check it out. The WEM store really carries that comforting mix of tradition and thoughtful merchandise.When I worked in Manulife Bldg I regularly stopped and shopped at then Hallmark in Edm City Centre which sadly closed!! Maybe they are thinking it's a good strategy for their overpriced gifts and to compete with another card store that often has buy one get one 50% off. I noticed the table at the front with albums including ones for baby, and wedding. They would make a great gift and many were marked down at least 30-40% off the ticketed price. I found a premade baby scrapbook which would be ideal for a new mom as she wouldn't have time to scrapbook and could just slap photos on pages already with embellishments and could add the stickers to it. When I went to pay for the album, it was cheaper than the ticketed sale price, yay! I like taking a look at the Christmas ornaments and if you plan on getting one for yourself or a friend, you may want to nab it months before as they can sell out of the popular ones. I have waited until after and the selection is slim but 40-50% off is a more reasonable price if you don't mind putting it on your tree after the day. I'm also a fan of their Peanuts collection. I have the talking Peanut characters they put out for Christmas a few years ago and the prices were good. I bring them out every December and they still talk. If I need a card for any occasion or a holiday gift, I'll be back to check out the selection.
