I met the doctor and he was super. His staff was phenomenal! They were all so welcoming and friendly. They have a board with all the new patients coming in, my nephew thought that was fun to see. The doctor doesn't do anything that isn't beneficial to the patient. He makes sure that they get the best results by having a plan and it doesn't mean braces are the first step. Very well explained. Had to fill out new patient paperwork and they were nice when I took forever doing so. I'm not a patient but after going through the first initial appointment if I needed an orthodontist, I would definitely choose Dr. Helms.

To my relief, he scheduled me within 3 days of my initial phone call. The results of the procedure were as expected/satisfactory, but I did leave the office feeling disappointed in the doctor's "bedside manor." I felt condescended throughout the entire experience. Perhaps this is an effect of having mostly child patients? Regardless, I am a 25 year old woman and did not appreciate being scolded for 1) not being able to afford this procedure prior to my visit. 2) experiencing pain/sensitivity during removal process I was also charged more than the initial price quote- the difference was small but unexplained. The next time I need an orthodontist, I plan on looking elsewhere but the quality of work done was good and they scheduled me quickly.

After making the hour and 15 min drive and waiting 30min in the lobby my son was finally called back when I was told I would have to wait in the lobby with my baby. I explained I called ahead of time to make sure it was fine then Kristen (the manager) had a snippy attitude and told me that no one told me this and I can't bring her back with me.
