On my pickup day they did not pick me up at the appointed time. When I called 10 minutes after they were supposed to pick me up, they said they had no record of me reserving a pickup. That caused all kind of complications for me, especially since my wife was in a foot boot after surgery and could not walk or drive. If I could, I'd give them no stars, but have to give them one to write a review. I'd stay away from this shuttle service!

The actual booking went smoothly, except that I wanted to pay for the ride myself, and the person taking the booking said he would have to call me back to get my credit card details. I don't feel comfortable until things like this are paid for and confirmed, but by the end of the day, I still hadn't gotten a call back, so I called again. I was told that the payment didn't have to be made right away, that I would be called in the next day or two. Five days later, two days before the trip was scheduled, I still had not received a call, so I tried again. I got Double D's answering machine in the middle of the day, so left a message that I wanted to pay for the trip and did NOT want my dad to have to pay. Toward the end of the day I still had not received a reply! I mean, what kind of business is this??? I went online to look them up and there was a second phone number. I called that one and got another answering machine, so left another message. A couple of hours later, that same number called my home phone, but hung up after one ring. I called back, got the machine AGAIN so left another message! This time the woman (Dee) called back and spoke to me. Hallelujah! What she said was that there was a problem with the booking, because I had been quoted $50, and my dad lived '13 miles out of town'. NO HE DOESN'T! I told her exactly where he lives (which is in Grants Pass, about a mile from Merlin, where Double D operates). She then said that they charge $50 to go to the airport, but my dad's doctor's office is about a mile from there, so they would have to charge me a minimum of $73 - one way. I didn't understand all this, and was increasingly uncomfortable with such shoddy business practices. I asked if they would honor the quote I was given 5 days earlier; a quote no one had followed up on to correct in those 5 days. She said no. Ok. But it gets worse. I got off the phone and started calling around to other transport services. While doing this I got a call from the man who had taken my original booking at Double D. He apologized for the misunderstanding and said he wanted to make it right. He said that $70 was only $20 more than my quote and not a big deal. But, he said, they would have to pick up my father an hour earlier because they transport mentally challenged people, and already had a booking they had to pick up on the way. And if that wasn't bad enough (since I had made the booking 5 days earlier), he said they could not take credit cards over the phone - that I would have to go to Walmart and pay to wire the money to him! Really??? He insisted it was easy - no big deal. Well, Double D may think treating people like that is no big deal, but I think you should RUN as fast as you can the other way before ever calling this questionable company. I've never dealt with anyone so unprofessional, and I shudder to think what would have happened if I hadn't continued to call and attempt to get the booking paid for. And 'wire the money to Walmart"??? I'm guessing Double D stands for Dishonest and Disreputable. In the end, I was lucky to find a reputable company on such short notice; a company that charged less than $70, took my credit card over the phone, sent me an instant receipt, and is going out of their way to accommodate my dad.

What a hidden gem in the wilderness! After 4 days rafting the Rogue River we decided to stay here…read morefor our last night on the river. The only access is either by Jetboat, helicopter, rafting or hiking. They have super nice and cozy cabins and serve you dinner and breakfast. Upon arriving via raft we tied it up at their dock. They are located just below Blossom Bar rapid. They have a list that will take you stuff to the top where they will put what you need in a bear box. The rest they will deliver to your room. The rooms are very nice, they have fireplaces and are very clean. The whole place is run on generators so they do limit the electricity use from 5-10pm and then they come back on in the morning. After we checked in we got to see about 10 deer grazing outside of our room in the grass and on the grass airstrip that is located at the lodge. The food was amazing..especially after rafting for three days. We had chicken with asparagus and potatoes with a side salad. They topped it off with a tasty brownie. For breakfast they served a hearty meal that had scrambled eggs, deep fried French toast, sausage, bacon and coffee to top it off. They do have alcoholic beverages for purchase. I would just encourage those who have stayed at the lodge to be kind to the staff. I am sure things are different than in the past but they are doing their best with all the COVID changes! The cost is $165 per adult, $100 for kids 6-11 and kids 5 and under are free. It's well worth the price!

At 7:50 I called back, waiting outside to be picked up, but no taxi. After speaking with another diver, he told me he is 2 hours away. I then tried to reason with him, letting him know about my pick up time. He still stuck with the ''It will be 2 hours'' answer. Afleet taxi is a company that has burned a bridge with a loyal cab taker. Afleet ''Get your act together please and pick up people who ask to be picked up..its what you do for your profession so be professional and be a person of your word.

I was told that Pam owns the property, but it's managed by Bev and that it is up for sale. The property was originally built by and for kayakers. It sits directly on the Rogue River with river access. Inside the lodge there is a full kitchen, large dining area, large living room with wifi, fireplace and hookups for tv, stereo, etc. There is a large wrap around porch with plenty of seating and a grill. There are two bedrooms off of the dining room: one is a double bed with a full bathroom and one is a king bed with a full bathroom. Outside the main lodge is a full bathroom for men and women, each with two showers, one toilet and one sink. There is also a king bedroom with floor mattress by the bathrooms. There is a small parking lot, which hold about 8-10 cars double parked, and two port-a-pots. Below the lodge, down by the river, are 6 cabins. Each one has a porch and holds two twin beds with one power outlet. All windows in the cabins are screens only covered by curtains. There is plenty of lawn space for tents and hammocks. Be ware the hike from the cabins to the bathrooms is pretty long and tiring. There is about 15 stone steps up to the lodge, a couple more wooden steps at the lodge and then about 3-4 more stone steps up to the bathrooms. Bed linens, bath linens, kitchen utensils are all provided. There are two pantries in the kitchen, a dish washer, stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, and cleaning supplies.
