First, dealing with Lidia was a pleasure. She listened to our needs and found us the perfect house. We were suprised to find welcoming flowers among other amenities when we arrived. The house we stayed in, Bigadune, is beautiful with parallel widows providing a panoramic view of the ocean. It has a private walkway to the beach, which gave us easy access. It also has it's own garage, useful for rainy days. We were really happy to find a spacious kitchen completey stocked with all sorts of kitchen utensils. In short it was a great place to stay. Lidia owns a ranch up the Rogue River, and has houses on her ranch for rent. If you're interested in hiking this would be a good place to go. While we didn't hike, that area in the moutains up river was a beautiful place to see, and the ranch has a lot of wildlife to see.

Rooms are clean and comfy in a motel fashion but don't expect the Hyatt. Overall an excellent place for that Fall or Winter fishing adventure. Expect big fish and plenty of them. One day my wife caught [and released] 13 king salmon and hooked several more. I got 5 to boat that great day. Note: be prepared for weather, as I have seen , sun, snow, hail , rain , and wind , all in the space of 6 hours on the Elk River. Neoprene waders are the standard garb here during the fishing day.

The price is quite reasonable for what you receive from this amazing establishment. I've gone back a handful of times and can't WAIT to get back. Go in November for Salmon fishing and mid-Janurary to mid-March for Steelheadn' and you shall not be let down! Our guides--Peter, Anna, Kristen, and Jonas--were ideal leaders and companions: friendly, skilled, professional, and hard-working. The lodges were a treat, especially at the end of a rainy day, and the food at all of them was excellent. I only wish that the trail-hiking option (hiking along the river trail while the rafts floated) was more clearly explained in WRE's website info, I would have brought hiking boots if I had known about that option.

The owners of this vacation rental were extremely friendly and accommodating. They know the area well, and had a suggestion for everything from restaurants to hiking trails. Their vacation rental has a charming French theme, and comes stocked with great books, movies fresh eggs and homemade bread.

Our hosts, Coleen and her father Ernie, we're incredible, they are friendly, gracious and were very attentive. Coleen is an amazing cook and used fresh ingredients from her garden to make us a wonderful family style dinner, both her and Ernie genuinely wanted to know about us and our journey. Ernie sat with us on the covered deck with stunning views and told us amazing stories of growing up in the area. I can't stop thinking about the wonderful time we had there. We will be back.

We've stayed here twice now. Once in Unit C and once we brought our RV and stayed in the RV space…read more We loved both visits. Unit C is the closest unit to the ocean and has two nice size bedrooms and a full kitchen. We had a clear view of the ocean. It was quiet and peaceful and just what we wanted for a few days away to relax and unwind. It was nice having a kitchen, so we didn't have to go out for every meal. I loved sitting on the deck listening to the ocean and reading my book and napping. Hard to keep your eyes open when you are so relaxed! On our second visit, we were doing a coastal RV trip from CA to Oregon and stopped there overnight on our way from CA before heading further north along the Oregon coastline. They have a nice RV spot with very easy access and with electric hook up. It was the perfect layover, and we got a bonus night of ocean waves to put us to sleep that night and start us off feeling very relaxed for the next part of our trip. The innkeepers were onsite if we needed anything, but at the same time you almost feel like you have the whole place to yourself. I'm sure we'll be back soon. - Jill and Tim

I was told that Pam owns the property, but it's managed by Bev and that it is up for sale. The property was originally built by and for kayakers. It sits directly on the Rogue River with river access. Inside the lodge there is a full kitchen, large dining area, large living room with wifi, fireplace and hookups for tv, stereo, etc. There is a large wrap around porch with plenty of seating and a grill. There are two bedrooms off of the dining room: one is a double bed with a full bathroom and one is a king bed with a full bathroom. Outside the main lodge is a full bathroom for men and women, each with two showers, one toilet and one sink. There is also a king bedroom with floor mattress by the bathrooms. There is a small parking lot, which hold about 8-10 cars double parked, and two port-a-pots. Below the lodge, down by the river, are 6 cabins. Each one has a porch and holds two twin beds with one power outlet. All windows in the cabins are screens only covered by curtains. There is plenty of lawn space for tents and hammocks. Be ware the hike from the cabins to the bathrooms is pretty long and tiring. There is about 15 stone steps up to the lodge, a couple more wooden steps at the lodge and then about 3-4 more stone steps up to the bathrooms. Bed linens, bath linens, kitchen utensils are all provided. There are two pantries in the kitchen, a dish washer, stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, and cleaning supplies.
