From the moment we arrived at the main entrance, I felt transported to a different world. Everyone in our group was in awe, and I couldn't stop taking photos. Every detail deserves admiration, from the massive statue of Nilkanth Varni at the entrance plaza and the tranquil courtyard water features, to the main Akshardham Mandir itself with its countless intricate indoor and outdoor carvings. A few helpful tips for your visit: - Welcome Center: Be sure to catch the informative intro video. There are two theaters with staggered showtimes, so just hop into whichever one has the shorter wait. - Dress Code: They enforce a strict modest dress code (e.g. shoulders and knees must be covered). Don't worry if you forget - they offer free wraps at the door so you aren't turned away. I wore shorts, and they provided a sarong to wear over them. - Footwear: You will need to take off and check your shoes before entering the Mandir. - Amenities: Near the exit, there is a cafeteria, a dessert shop, and a museum (we didn't get a chance to try the food this time, but it's great to have options). Thanks to one of our relatives who pointed us to this temple. This Hindu temple has deities in the forms worshipped in the eastern part of India - Kolkata. They deities look so beautiful to the eyes and wonderfully adorned in silk clothing. The temple has a large hall and at the farther end of it has the deities lined up from left to right. The priest warmly welcomed us and invited us to visit in the future again. They have a decent parking space and mandates mask-wearing. I'm not sure if this place is handicap-friendly as there are few stairs in order to climb to the ground level.

In the basement, activities take place. They have their website where activities list are placed and they are very punctual about timings of Puja. Unlike other Pujas in NJ, they don't force you to make a donation ( though we do our part whenever we visit). if you are in a nearby area, you should consider coming to this temple once. we love to keep coming here

Inside, the Kamakshi Ammavaru mandapam immediately caught my attention -- the walls are adorned with small, beautiful idols of Mahakali, Rajarajeshwari, Ardhanareeshwari, Varahi, and Bhairavam. The Kamakshi Ammavaru vigraham is very small, yet incredibly divine and captivating. There is another building next to the temple that includes an auditorium hall and a basement. In the basement, annadanam is served on weekends at 12:30 pm by dedicated volunteer devotees.

This has come to fruition due to the strong belief and determination of several of His devotees. You can still visit this place where they have kept His idol and few more idols of lord Ganesha and Goddess Kamakshi in the makeshift mandapam (hall that will be used for other religious services and weddings after the temple gets constructed). Parking space is humongous and can never be a problem. I look forward to seeing this temple getting completed and see His divine form soon in the new sanctum Santorum.

Carved stone complex stands at 191 feet tall with so much elegance and beauty. The people who work there are amazing and very friendly they treat you with respect and make your experience very unique. Food court very organized and clean and the shopping area was great too. As you arrive at this temple, you realize what you have seen from Turnpike is only a tip of the iceberg. This temple is just humongous in size with beautiful lightings and has a massive parking area. The temple has tall columns that are intricately designed and built. Enter and you will find a divine atmosphere with the deities. This is one of the Swaminarayan temples that has men and women divided between two sides while worshipping. They have a marketplace with a lot of gifts, snacks and readymade food items and a canteen which was not open while we were there.
