The space is so beautiful that it makes you want to capture it in photos to take home. The cocktail list is short but extremely inventive and considered. I'm picky about cocktails and was on a stopover after a two week holiday where I shied away from ordering them because nothing seemed worth ordering in the area I was visiting. This menu was overwhelming, though--so many creative and thought-provoking options that it was hard to choose. We each selected one and it was utterly delicious, making us wish we had time for a second! We weren't sure what to wear and were surprised to see quite a mix, from people dressed in smart casual up to elegant attire. So it's not super prescriptive in that way. Also worth noting--my partner is celiac, so we need strict gluten free food with no cross contamination. At least one of the drinks was elaborate enough (featuring lacto-fermented strawberries) that we thought it was worth double checking with the server about cross-contamination. He took it seriously and advised us confidently (as the other hotel staff had done in our hotel experience with the Widder), and my partner stayed safe. So while we didn't order food, I suspect they would have navigated the issue well.

While visiting my boyfriend's family there, we stepped upon this amazing cocktail bar that offers a Michelin quality of service, and extremely good cocktails. As a wine gal, I was more interested in wine at first but I tried a cocktail as it seemed to be the place to do so, and I was not disappointed at all. So much so that I had a second cocktail after that that I equally loved. I can't remember the name of them, but one was champagne based with a passion fruit foam, while the other was bourbon and amaretto. As per the ambiance, I personally loved the elegant decor, the dim lights and... the restrooms. The jungle noise is a nice touch imo The service was elegant, multilingual and friendly.

This was surprising, given the fact that we arrived for dinner quite early, and there were only one or two other parties in the restaurant while we were eating.

Did learn about a new drink though--called "Fish"--which is a mixture of ice tea and vodka? My friends who were drinking it seemed to like it, so I'll have to try it one day when I'm feeling better. My friend and I were able to get a nice corner inside by the window to sit and chat while enjoying our drinks. They really pumped up the music around 8 pm, and it got really crowded, so you practically had to shout to talk. I was starting to get a stuffy head and decided to bail early. I can read Korean but I wouldn't be able to tell you what the meaning of that sign is--it's some kind of slang that I'm not familiar with. It was closed at the time but I could see through the windows that it was a pretty cool place, with funky decorations and art. I vowed to come back, and a few days later that's exactly what I did. It was around 6:30 so it was a young, hip-looking after work crowd. I thought it was pretty funny that I was the only Asian in the place and I was a tourist. There are some other Korean signs sprinkled throughout, like to the bathrooms and stuff. You order at the bar and they bring out your stuff to you. They have a pretty good happy hour menu--the food prices are a downright bargain for Zurich. I got the currywurst plate and a beer. I was chatting with the very nice bartender and I asked her what the significance of the Korean was, and she said that one of the owners was Korean. Oh, ok, mystery solved. I parked myself at one of the tables by the windows, which were cracked open to let in the night air and cigarette smoke from the patio. I enjoyed the currywurst plate very much; generous portions and it had a very nice spicy sauce accompanying the tender little weiners. The big puffy papadam pieces (like a deep-fried Indian tortilla) were a nice accompaniment. All in all, a very cool place, one that I wouldn't mind visiting again--for happy hour, of course!

The strongest point of the place is, in my opinion, it'a brunch selection. On weekends, you can serve brunch until as late as 4 pm. Try their omelette, it is delicious! (I got the New York one). Also, they serve breakfast combos (i chose the American and the Swiss one), which are very expensive (up to even 30 CHF if I remember well), but they are worth it! The combos are enough for two people and they are very diverse. I would be happy if they offered more drinks as included in the combo though. However, be prepared to pay Zurich prices.
