This…read morechurch is made to look good on the outside and inside as long as you attend regularly, get involved in some way (Volunteer, Attend Groups, Put your kids in youth groups, and made it a priority to connect with other families alike). Which sounds great. But if someone in your family receives a mental health diagnosis and you go to any of the pastors for help or prayer, they will essentially shun you or faze you out. All of those "connections" you have made, and any monetary contributions you give to the church won't matter because in their eyes, they have to protect their "brand". Your "friends" won't view you the same once this information get's out. There isn't support for this situation in CVC church. My family had to learn the hard way. It caused a lot of hurt. This church runs on how you present yourself and your family as well as how other people that attend this church perceive you. The church doesn't want acknowledge this type of situation. They want to avoid anything that may seem heavy or messy to them. This church thrives on fitting the mold. The "perfect" families, attendance, opportunities to get involved. This is intentional. My family, they are good people, who did everything "right" in the churches eyes, until they came for help. I wouldn't wish any of what we went through on someone else. I've kept quiet for a long time on this topic. I just feel that it is important for people to understand what we didn't.

This church is located in Berea in a small shopping complex. My friend Gabby and I arrived for the 11:45am service which was a late service but I didn't get ready in time for the earlier services. There are 2 other services on Sundays are 8:45am and 10:15am. CHURCH SERVICE -- Service started with praise and worship time which is common to most churches. That lasted for about 30 minutes. Then the pastor delivered the message which was about sharing the Christian faith to others. I loved how the message had a question and answer session. So everyone got a piece of paper to answer certain questions pertaining to the pastor's message. Answering those questions for me really allowed me to delve deeper into my own personal faith. Renew is a non-denominational Christian Church filled with young people, families, and couples. The church isn't as diverse as I would have liked because the majority of people who attend are caucasian (white) but everyone I met was nice. I loved that they have a tea section inside so I grabbed a cup of tea before entering the sanctuary. They have modern and contemporary services to meet everyone's preferences and needs. With Covid members are evenly spaced out with plenty of space between people. You have to sign up before attending to assure you have a spot. When weather is nice out they allowed members to park in the upper lot and sit in the lower lot. You brought lawn chairs and sat outside to serve. What an experience this was, being outside in the beautiful weather and praising God with a beautiful sunset! The church has small groups that meet throughout the week and the people are friendly. The crowd is diverse in age, race, socioeconomic status, and personality.
