After voicing these concerns I could feel the tension and what felt like annoyance and disapproval from the teacher. I am a smiley warm person, and greeted the staff with this disposition hoping this would settle any uncomfortable feeling. The kindness was not returned by his teacher. After several weeks and a conference with my sons teacher and director, it was obvious this was not a good fit for our son or family. If you have a busy boy, a social child, or a child with a vivid imagination- be warned- he or she will not be perceived well. If you are a mama who communicates- this is not the place for you. I have older children in highschool and have never had a back and forth in a parent teacher conference. When a teacher tells you your husband is rude, your actions as a mama are not appropriate, and she is appalled by your son. It is my due diligence to let other families know about my experience.

Due to the pandemic, we've been able to transition our child from full-time daycare to preschool…read moresince we both work from home. I did a lot of research regarding local preschools, and Child's Play was the clear winner for us! The cost is very affordable (and listed on their website, I believe). Hours are 9am-1pm with some additional before and after care options (offered separately not by the school). Drop-off and pick-up lines are very quick and smooth, especially compared to the stressful situations that I observe at other local preschools. The director is very warm and friendly. The school is faith-based with weekly chapel. COVID policies are either in line or slightly more laidback than other preschools / childcare locally. Children are not required to wear masks at any age. Teachers do not wear masks in the classroom, but some choose to wear masks when aiding the children in and out of cars in the drop-off and pick-up line. I have not personally heard of any COVID cases at the school this school year (2020-2021). I believe children can start as young as 18-24 months and stay until kindergarten. If you choose to hold back your child from K5, note that there is not a K5 transitional program but they can repeat the K4 curriculum. We have been very pleased with Child's Play and would recommend the program to anyone!

If I have anything I want to discuss with them, they are very receptive and easy to talk to. I couldn't ask for better teachers for my four-year-old. Tiffany runs the daycare and is just as wonderful as the teachers. Tiffany is always there with a smile and an understanding ear if I need anything. She calls and updates me on everything so I can take advantage of everything necessary. Taylor is also very sweet; she always helps out with the infants. They love her. The reason why I felt that I needed to review this school is for all of the out-of-town people looking to move into a community because of the schools. Look no further... you've found your new home! Coming from Florida in 2006, we moved to Woodstock pretty much blindly. My husband was relocated so there was really no choice. We looked at 40 homes in 2 days! We looked from Canton to Roswell. The house we have lived in for the past 10 years was the FIRST house that we toured! Funny huh??!! I did a TON of research on schools when I was still in Florida. Greatschools.net was a Godsend! When touring our home I was able to speak to the homeowner for a brief moment. I told her that we were thinking of sending our kids to the local private schools. Her exact words were "WHY??" She continued to tell me that Bascomb Elementary School was all and more. In the past 10 years I have met some of the most wonderful, caring teachers that I could hope for. If you have a special needs child they take great care in making sure that they have exactly what they need to succeed! It does take a bit for you to be "accepted" by the front office staff LOL. I had been going for years and felt that they were a bit put off any time that I needed assistance. What I later found was these women work as hard as the teachers! They deal with CRAZY parents (insert my name) on a constant basis. Among the great teachers they have the BEST NURSE IN THE WORLD! Nurse Jamie is an angel! My son actually likes to make trips to the clinic on a weekly basis (little flirt!). But for real, I have never seen a nurse take such care. When my older son had been in the clinic, she called me and gave me his temp, OXYGEN LEVEL, and so on! WHAT??? That's just insane! But so needed from us working moms that cant jump every time our kid has a splinter. Bascomb is a great school. My husband and I are so thankful that our kids have been able to go through a great Elementary School experience.

We needed to put our son in daycare when I went back to work post-Covid, in August of 2021. In the…read moreyear and half we were enrolled at the school, they upped tuition twice. These were not small increases either, we are talking $100-200 per month. We were semi-ok with this at first because we just had one child at the school. Having a new baby and wanting to put him into the daycare with his older brother, the new prices were simply too much - almost double a mortgage payment! Comped with other daycares in the area, Parker Chase was almost $900 more than a local/private daycare right down the road! They offer no flexibility when it comes to tuition, despite there being highly accredited competition that is cheaper in the area. Because it is owned by a corporation (Endeavor Schools), the staff is unable to do anything about it, and all decisions run through corporate. Endeavor is a business, and trust me, they treat it as such, and money is the name of the game. It is truly sad that a company that is built on caring about young children operates this way. Although the tuition is very hefty, it is not reflected in the teachers' pay, as many of them work 2nd jobs to make ends meet. I guess the execs at corporate get a big portion of tuition rather than using it to retain teachers and staff. Which bring me to another issue with this school - the turnover! This school was once touted for its teacher and staff tenure, and in the past few months, many teachers that had worked there for years left. My son's class was without a lead teacher more than once in the year and a half we were there. Communication is not a strong suit here, and unfortunately, I had to find out about this from either another teacher or another parent. For the amount we paid for our child to go here, you would think a simple email or announcement could be made regarding who is caring for and looking after our son. Overall, the building is nice - glass windows in all the classes, a nice outside playground. The place continually seemed understaffed, and the teachers seemed overwhelmed. All the teachers my son had were caring and sweet, I just wish they were paid better considering all of the money the parents pay to put their children there. With the most recent tuition increase, many families left to find alternate childcare. I know the staff had concerns that even the waitlisted families wouldn't want to pay the newly inflated prices ($2000/month for an infant!!). It's a real shame that corporate backed a lot of families with young children into a corner as most daycares have waitlists, especially for two kids. Not to mention the fact that it is very disruptive for a little kid to have to switch schools and have to start over again with new teachers, children, and a new environment. My best advice- look elsewhere. Many of the parents in my son's class agreed that in the last year it has gone downhill, unsure if it's management, corporate or what. Privately owned childcare facilities seem to be the way to go - they truly care about the families and want the best for your kids. The executives at Endeavor seem to care about themselves, not the children, families or teachers that grow the business. One more thing to note - if you have to turn left out of the parking lot onto Johnson Ferry after dropping off or getting your child, be prepared to sit and wait for ten minutes or risk your lives trying to cut across several lanes of traffic. There is no stoplight at this intersection even though they are in dire need of one.
