My son went to Summers Nursery from age of 2 to 3 1/2. He loved it. It is a very friendly nursery…read more The staff are lovely and the set up is nice. They have a secure out door play area for nice days. He was given a daily report home telling us what he had done that day. The security was very thorough, security doors were closed at all times, you signed your child in and out and no-one could collect your child without id. In terms of price it was about the same as all other nurseries in the area. You could get your reduction from 3 years through this nursery. It had ideal opening hours for those who have to work full time. They did lots of activities with the children and it was a very happy place.

A small parking lot in front of the building was a stone off-white colour, which paired well with the grey of the stones composing the building. An informational bulletin/board out in front of one of the entrances provided the time of the weekly Sunday service as well as what one might call a mission statement, contact information, and flyers for upcoming events.

I was exploring Old Aberdeen on foot and after finding St Machars Hall (which I dubbed St Machars Tomb), I decided to see if I could find the corresponding cathedral. After taking the wrong street and not finding the cathedral I opted to check out a cemetery along the road. While exploring the cemetery, I noticed a larger building resembling a cathedral. Reading the headstones, I made my way along the side of the larger building to its front. A few cars were parked out front. Turns out it was St. Machars Cathedral, which I had given up on trying to find... Learned that exploring a cemetery could (and did) lead to me finding something else I was looking for. The graves in the cemetery were well laid out and headstones easy to read. Vegetation was well curated.

I was a bit scared, because I'm not exactly a musical maestro and I knew I wouldn't be up to a decent standard. But the staff were absolutely lovely and very welcoming, and the violin teacher - Gillian Findlay - was amazing! She could see I was nervous and put me right at ease. Everything she told me was extremely beneficial and she took me through my final two grades. The North East Music School is practically an institution. It has a regular newsletter that I get every 3 months, and regularly host keynote lunches with wonderful music and brilliant speakers. If you are into music then this is your place. There isn't much else like this in the area, so definitely worth looking into.

The University campus is cozy and has clearly marked buildings. Campus members were friendly in their interactions. Vines up the front of one of the buildings showed color change from red to green (red higher up, green lower down). Breaks in the clouds let the sunlight shine through and illuminate different buildings. A chapel with sculptured tomb on campus had various people trickling in and out, perhaps for a morning service.

Next plans: a repeat just before my daughter's 17th birthday and then proper driving lessons, of course with the same instructor.
