This alone has helped our family more than words can say. She has many years of experience teaching young children and is patient enough to figure out what works for our child. Our family is blessed to have her teaching our child. The Owner: Ms. Betty Williams is wonderful. She is extremely knowledgable and is more than willing (happy) to share her knowledge with parents. On several occasions, Ms. Betty has sat patiently with me, with a caring heart, and given me so much amazing parenting advice. I cannot thank her enough for not being rude or judgmental when I came to her for advice. The front office staff: Ms. Natalie & Ms. Alicia are always genuinely friendly and kind any time I speak with them. They both have been very accommodating when I have needed anything. They both truly LOVE the children. Everyone at SACDM does. The staff at this school works as a team. They are a humble group of people whose true passion is the children. They are down to earth and make parents feel comfortable. They all work very diligently in figuring out what works best for each child. The tuition is a bit higher than others, but to us, having the peace of knowing our child is in the best care is worth making other financial sacrifices so that our child can attend this school.

I can say Admin and teachers truly want your baby to be happy here and are willing to not only listen to your concerns and feedback but take action to correct things on their end. Hindsight is 20/20 and I wish I could take back all the time, patience and effort I put in to try and make it a good experience for her. This place not only has high turnover, high student to teacher ratio, it seems like it also sells you this false belief of superior education from the Montessori brand. So maybe you think that justifies a large monthly fee (nevermind their holidays and staff days), and well it's the best of the best it must be worth it. Wrong. Surely the staff must go through more than your typical cpr/first aid 24 hour training? No. Nothing special here. It's all branding. I tried being patient and understanding, but ultimately my reasons for pulling my child was her safety and well being. They don't have their furniture anchored on walls and so they have bookshelves in the middle of class. Well, you probably assumed some kid got hurt. Yep. Another kiddo pushed the bookcase on to my child, falling over on her fingers. Even after that they didn't want to prevent that from happening again because they technically didn't have to, is what they said, but it wasn't enough seeing a kid actually get hurt to make them think otherwise. I had to really complain to make them do something. Another incident was a child attacking my child outside and not responding to teachers telling them to stop. Did my kid's teacher see this incident? No. Another teacher did. They had the parents pick that kid up. Another time, I go to pick up my kid and once I buckle her in the car I notice she had a busted lip, and they didn't have me sign the usual incident report. Teacher didn't see it or even notice it. (You'll see this as a pattern.). The culmination was the same kid attacking my kid again, this time on her face, and did her teacher see it? No. Another teacher did. Let me mention that this incident would not have happened had they followed their own policy, (which is not having more than one classroom outside at a time) and had competent staff (there were 4 kids to 2 teachers in her class that day and it took a teacher from a different class to see it and stop it.) They had the parents come and cut the other kids nails but didn't separate them from my kid. All this goes without mentioning my kid constantly being sick and them doing a poor job cleaning and changing her diaper. I had spoken to the director and staff about my daughter's health condition, which requires frequent diaper changes or she is at risk of an infection that can affect her kidneys. One time I pick her up and she has a diaper full of poop. I complain. Within the same week, after picking her up, I get home to change her and notice particles of poop because they didn't clean her well. I send an email to all involved about it, but then my daughter had to be hospitalized because, you guessed it, she got an infection. Maybe you can take this knowledge and go to a daycare that's more affordable and will probably give you the same experience. At least your wallet will thank you. All I can say is now my daughter is thriving at home because she isn't getting hurt or sick. She is developing better because I actually interact with her, unlike a time when I saw on camera her teacher completely ignore her when an activity was set up, and no effort was made to bring my daughter over to learn. Do yourself, your sanity, and your wallet a favor and don't go here. Don't buy into all the influencer romanticizing Montessori aesthetics. All they do is say their script,"oh we apologize...we understand...", but there is no change. There is no striving to be better, to stay on the ball. Their words are empty of proactive action, or any action at all. The previous posts and pictures are dated, and those people aren't there anymore. So anything that was said before being nice is no longer applicable.

First, we were excited about the engagement we had hoped my son would have, he came home with worksheets to practice writing and tracing, we loved that but unfortunately the screen time allowed in this facility is excessive and was creating issues with his sleep habits and ultimately his behavior at home was becoming challenging we believe to be due to the excessive screen time. During the tour we were told the screen in the room was for educational videos and for music to be played for the children to dance to and sing along with. The daily report provided that my son was watching Jack Hartman for teaching American sign language, but the exposure to screen time far exceeded this. My son was coming home stating he had watched cartoons like Cocomelon, chu chu tv, etc. During Halloween my son started to fear jack o lanterns from something they showed the kids, he was even shown the Michael Jackson thriller video which the teacher claims was an "accident" ... after talking to the teacher to figure out what had happened, it became clear that they are just letting YouTube play the next videos without supervising what is being shown. We met with the Asst Director Ms Ashley and the Owner, Dr. Koshi (spelling?) and unfortunately our concerns fell on deaf ears. I wanted to know what the process was for picking these videos that are not educational and why parents aren't being told what their kids are watching and why their daily report is providing false information on what my child is being exposed to. We even reported that on several occasions when picking up our son as the teachers were bringing the kids in from outside that the teachers were asking the kids what they wanted to watch, and kids were asking for spiderman and frozen etc. On several occasions the screen was moved to a corner so that the parents couldn't see what was being shown. During thanksgiving they showed the movie the Wild robot without letting parents know this was going to be shown, the film is rated PG. They also showed them how the Grinch stole Christmas the Jim Carrey film which is also PG. I was never consulted or made aware about what my son would be watching or had watched. The use of the screens and the way the administration handled our concerns is very shady, for the price you pay for childcare and with their claims to be an educational facility to prepare children for school I do not trust that they are a good option for families that care about the quality of care and learning.

I am writing this review almost a year after my child's disenrollment because I wanted time to…read moreprocess what happened and ensure I was sharing this experience thoughtfully. During that time, my family genuinely loved and appreciated the teachers and staff. We intentionally built positive relationships with staff and regularly showed our appreciation through small gifts. My 17-month-old child was disenrolled effective immediately following a disagreement between Ashlee and me regarding paperwork that I was told needed to be returned the following day. After 14 months of enrollment, I was informed that the center did not have paperwork on file, including documents containing my child's medical history, emergency procedures, and other important information. I expressed confusion and frustration because this was the first time we had ever been told anything was missing. I was then informed that if the paperwork was not returned the following day, my child would not be allowed to attend. As a parent, I found this concerning because the missing paperwork was not something we had knowingly withheld, nor had we previously been informed that it was missing. When I questioned the situation and expressed my concerns, Ashlee responded by saying, "Maybe we're not the right fit for you. I can go grab your kid's things and we can disenroll right now." My husband and I looked at each other in complete disbelief. I told her I felt that response was excessive and respectfully asked if I could wait to speak with Megan or Christina as they had historically been the individuals we were directed to when questions arose. Ashlee told me that the decision was final because she was also in charge. The conversation continued for approximately 30 minutes. I repeatedly tried to understand the rationale behind the decision. I even apologized if I had offended her by referencing Megan and Christina as the individuals in charge. I explained that my understanding came from prior interactions in which Ashlee herself had deferred questions to them when she was uncertain. I also sat down & began completing the paperwork. Despite my efforts to resolve the situation, I was repeatedly told the decision was final. During the conversation, Ashlee stepped away several times to make phone calls & also referenced a prior misunderstanding I had with Megan regarding medication, claiming that I had previously been "warned." This characterization was surprising to me because Megan had never approached me in a manner that suggested I was being reprimanded or warned. Every interaction I had with Megan was respectful, and understanding. The same was true of my interactions with Christina. It is also important to note that I was 8 months pregnant at the time, and this occurred around 6:00 PM on a Monday. Most daycare centers in the area were already closed for tours, yet I was suddenly being told my child no longer had childcare because I questioned a situation involving missing paperwork. What made the situation especially upsetting was that Ashlee stated she had been having a hard day. To this day, it is difficult not to feel that an uneqquiped lead had an emotional reaction and played a role in a permanent decision that significantly impacted my family. The following day, I spoke with Christina and confidently asked that they review the security footage because I knew I had never yelled at Ashlee, despite being told that was reported to management. While frantically touring new childcare centers and taking unexpected PTO that I had hoped to save for my upcoming maternity leave. Christina did call me back after watching the surveillance footage & she didn't see my yell at Ashlee either (no audio just visual clips) but understandably like any professional company, they had to go through with the decision. It would look very poorly on them to backtrack/ not support a teammate. At that point, I informed Christina that even if my child had been welcomed back, I would not have returned. The trust had been broken, both by the immediate disenrollment and by the allegation that I had yelled when I had not. Fortunately, all four childcare centers I toured with all the same perks as this center, accepted my child. Three were prepared to enroll us for the very next day. Several administrators I spoke with expressed concerns with how poorly the situation had been handled. Today, both of my children are thriving at their current daycare. However, I feel compelled to share this experience so that other parents can make informed decisions. My recommendation is that any communication, questions, or concerns be directed to Megan or Christina ONLY. Lastly, I was informed that I would receive a follow-up call from corporate customer service regarding the treatment my family experienced and the circumstances surrounding the disenrollment. Despite being told there would be further investigation, I never received that call. This whole experience was extremely traumatic.

As any parent that has put a child, especially an infant, into a school knows, it's hard handing that child over and it takes a lot of trust. We also want to thank Ms. Miranda and Ms. Kat for the care they show to all the kiddos in their classroom's and for giving our son a great experience. Each day, he is excited to go to school (he literally runs to the door when we ask him if he's ready) and that is because of both of you and how he is treated in the classroom. And lastly, we want to thank Megan and Ms. Christina. It is very apparent to us how passionate you are about the kids that come into La Petite. You both show great care and love, and fiercely protect them. We never saw this kind of care from the precious school he came from, it was all business to them. The staff at the Lilypad have become my village at this point. The way they love and care for my boy is incredible. His language, social and emotional skills are ahead for his age and while some of that may just be his nature, I am positive that The Lilypad has a huge part in nurturing that as well. My child is always excited for school in the morning, and he has definitely bonded with more than one of his teachers during his time there. I feel incredibly lucky to have found a place like The Lilypad for my kids.
