I absolutely love the Alligator Farm. Because of my previous experience with alligator farms in Thailand, I thought the St Augustine Alligator Farm was going to be shadey. A place where you see alligators but you also eat them and buy alligator skin handbags. That was most certainly not the case here. This was a cool place to take your kiddos for a structured trick or treating event. They have about 8-10 stations set up that kids could get a handful of candy and also pet a reptile. We saw tons of snakes, alligators and tortoises. One station gave you a piece of gator food to toss to the large gators in the water. This farm has tons of alligators and crocodiles and some Of the biggest I've seen besides gator land. The employees were all very knowledgeable of the animals and seemed to really enjoy their jobs taking care of the reptiles. Take bug spray! And if you're going for trick or treating I recommend an earlier time slot because when the sun goes down it's not super lit and difficult to see some of the exhibits. read more

Visited here today with my husband who is handicapped. We found the park to be very accessible and so much fun. The boardwalks and things were all in good repair and helped us see everything easily. Is it really a trip to Florida if you didn't see a gator? I think not! Instead of going to every retention pond and trying to find one in the wild, which could be a tad dangerous, I visited the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park. Located in Saint Augustine and not too far of a drive from Jacksonville if you are from there or visiting like I was for work. Plenty of alligators, crocodiles, and other creatures here! We definitely were amazed to likely see easily over 50 gators here. Even have a photo opportunity where you can pay to hold a gator! Finally got to hold and head pat one, which was a bucket list item. Definitely recommend if you are like me, and love animals even gators! Surprised there was a lot of shade at this zoo, though still pack those sunshades and sun block! It was very humid and hot as we visited in August, but I see in other months it being very beautiful weather. Definitely return and visit in a better month if I come on a leisure trip versus work trip. read more

One of the cooler zoos I've visited in a long time. It was a HOT day so I'm glad I brought a cold bottle of water . They have so many cool sections about all the different alligators. I had no idea there were so many species and how big they actually could get. As you walk by, there are other wildlife like birds and tortoise. Very family friendly and also good for a solo traveler like me. I found the indoor exhibit about Gomek was really cool and informative. They had short shows that were scheduled at different times like alligator feeding or an educational one about reptiles. At the end there is a huge gift shop to check out. Surprisingly fun, well-designed, and full of jaw-dropping moments (literally). The St. Augustine Alligator Farm is a historic zoological park that features not just American alligators, but every living species of crocodilian in the world. It's part educational, part thrilling, and unexpectedly charming. We caught a show at the theater and then went to the alligator feeding, which was absolutely the highlight -- watching them leap up out of the water was wild. You could feel the crowd's awe every time one snapped up a snack mid-air. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. They answered questions thoroughly and made the experience better. As expected, food is overpriced, but that's the norm for any attraction like this. What stood out was how thoughtful the design of the park is -- for example, there are umbrellas placed strategically in areas with heavy bird activity, which saved us from potential poop disasters. Smart and appreciated. It does get a little smelly in some areas, but honestly, you're surrounded by gators and birds -- it comes with the territory. Totally worth it. The kids we were with loved it. I, personally, was terrified lol. Soooo many gators and crocs. And you get to feed them like ducks off a pier? Fun but terrifying. The large playground was a great touch that let the kids blow off some steam about mid-way through the walk around the park. Lots of birds and reptiles as well, so we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Saint Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park - Croctoberfest Event Review I attended the Croctoberfest event at the Saint Augustine Alligator Farm this past weekend, and overall it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the staff were incredibly inviting and welcoming from the moment we arrived. There were plenty of opportunities to sample different tastings from a variety of local food vendors and breweries, which made the event feel like a true celebration of the community. The only downside -- and the reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 -- was that many of the vendors ran out of food and drinks within just 30 minutes of the doors opening. Considering that tickets weren't cheap, I had hoped to try everything offered, so it was a bit disappointing not to be able to sample as much as expected. That said, the event itself was still very enjoyable, and you could tell a lot of thought and care went into organizing it. With just a little more planning to ensure enough samples for all guests, Croctoberfest could easily be a five-star experience. I'm already looking forward to next year's event! read more

We visited this location while exploring the area on our spring break vacation. Parking was super easy getting in as well and the view of the birds and alligators and all type of reptiles kept us busy for our 2 to 3 hours overall it's a great experience for the family and to have something to do if you're in vacation, I would recommend this place. read more

A group of five of us visited the Farm on a Saturday morning. Parking was plentiful but did fill up when we were leaving several hours later. Admission is $36 a person, a little steep for me. Once inside, we enjoyed all the exhibits and caught two shows. I appreciated the shady crocodile exhibit areas along with the alligator lagoon. The large swamp area on the opposite side of the Farm was full of gators and many nesting birds. It has a real native Florida feel to it but was baking hot with no shade. We caught a show in the lagoon with fun facts on the two breeds of gators. We also saw the once a week feeding of their large crocodile, Maximo. He was fed a couple of chickens and large rodents. For a large guy, he could move pretty fast and lunge out of the water quite high. We was most everything in two hours and enjoyed our visit. read more

Came to Florida and had to see a gator. This spot was suggested by other yelpers in my community and vouched for by some family so we did. It was super interesting to learn so much about gators and other animals. BE WARNED: It stinks. Lol. I have a sensitive nose and sensory issues, especially with smells. If you share this experience, just be warned that almost every time the wind blows you smell dookie. I wore a mask to overcome this, but don't let that turn you off. This was one of the most fun experiences I had this whole trip. My kids loved seeing the gators being fed and interacted with. They had a chance to ask questions and the staff there were so friendly, knowledgeable and funny. My daughter got a kick out of the feeding of the gators, which happens at 12 and 3 in the swamp. They have lots of little activities for the kids and opportunities to see other types of animals. They have an albino gator and lemurs too. A snake and Dino exhibit accompanied multiple enclosures with crocodiles and different types of birds. They have a little panning station for the mini rock hounders and plenty of photo opportunities. It's not a huge zoo, but just big enough to spend a few hours in. The gift shop isn't super crazy prices and it's close to Buccee's. IYKYK. If you've already done Disney and Universal Studios, this is a great low key family activity with way less walking and waiting, which my kids were grateful for. I'd like to preface this review by saying I am absolutely terrified of birds. There are lots of birds here. If you are also afraid of birds this may not be the adventure for you. Taking that into account for the money this is a fantastic activity for adults and children alike. They have so many amazing animals alligators, and crocodiles from all over the world, as well as monkeys, a snake, and as previously mentioned a ton of birds. It was a fun and hilarious day for our family! I really thought I was safe under the umbrellas until I looked up and saw hundreds of giant birds in the trees lol! My kiddo absolutely loved it and I really enjoyed seeing the alligator area and of course had to make a visit to the gift shop! Definitely a must stop if you are in the area! read more

We hadn't planned on coming here but all the locals said it was a must and we happen to have gator shirts packed for our boys so it was a sign! This is a local attraction worth seeing for locals and tourist. I will start by saying it is pretty expensive in my opinion (I am used to Gatorland Prices). Kids should be more affordable. With that being said... the place is very immaculate with very well nurtured animals so that goes to show they spend their money well. The property is decent sized but for the price it could be bigger. We were blown away by the variations of alligators. There was so many. I really liked the cafe. The food was fairly priced and the seating was located right by the gopher tortoises. I appreciate the children menu options as well. They offer a few shows and live gator feeding. It is self guided and pretty easy to make your way around. For children they have a dig area with fake dinosaur bones and a mining rock station right next to it (the rock kits cost extra). My son loved both. They also have a cool playground near the birds. I liked the photo ops of fake gators around the park. Overall it was a fun day and we enjoyed ourselves. read more

This place has fun for the whole family in St. Augustine!! I came here for the first time for a private event and was so impressed. This alligator farm is home to reptiles, birds, lemurs, tortoises and much more! My family and I had so much fun exploring the grounds and learning about the many creatures they care for. The private event space is great for any party! Everything was alligator themed and we had the opportunity to engage in special wildlife encounters. For example, we got to scratch the tortoises and pet and feed the alligators. The grounds are also very well kept and clean. The animals appear to be healthy too! read more

I have visited St. Augustine many times and I didn't know about this alligator farm. Too bad, but I am glad to find out about it and visit it in January while in the area for the weekend. This place used to be an old side road attraction. Since then it has expended, it is a nice size, a decent little zoo where you can spend at least a couple of hours. The gradens are well organized, all alligators are well represented from each continent. Besides alligators (best selection ever) they have other animals and birds (turtles, phytons, chinchilla, parrots, vulture, iguanas, komodo dragon, macawas, viper, etc). They have daily feedings and shows you can witness but since we went on a cold day, it wasn't much action. Still, we got to see the albino (yes, they got one) being fed mice when we first got inside. They do some zip line packages but the space isn't too wide for that. But you can also tried it, a cousin of ours did and said it was like a boot camp experience. Otherwise, you can stroll the place and enjoy the best selection of alligators (the biggest one, Maximo is the salwater crocodile that is worth the visit) and beautiful birds. Admission is $34 for adults and $19,99 for children. Open daily from 9-5, they stay open till 6 pm during summers. Check their site for the schedule, and a $1 off coupon. Big parkings, plenty of clean restrooms around. You can buy food here also, or bring your own. Nice spaces for the animals, grab your map and discover the wonders of this place. Gators, gators, gators. What I expected to see. Very pleasantly surprised to also see snakes, many various birds, and mammals. Everything was well housed so I did not feel the regrets of unhappy animals. Lots of space and well planned environments. We came at the end of July and I was concerned about heat and sun. There were no worries at 9 AM when they opened. Most of the walkways had tree cover and there were lots buildings with AC. Tolerance for heat might matter on 95 degree day. Great place to bring kids - ours are grown but will bring our grandchildren. read more

Easy to get to location. Parking got full but there is quite a bit. No cost to park. Cost is moderate. $34.00 a person. Discount for senior or kids. Also AAA. Shows inside are included. There are so many varieties of alligators and crocodiles as well as many other species of reptiles and birds. Lemurs as well. Some of the areas were kind of small and looked like they didn't have a lot of room to move around. IMO. It was very interesting to read about each animal and cool to see one of the shows w parrots and a hog nose snake. If you want to see numerous alligators and other reptiles up close and personal, this is the spot for you. There is a feeding time, where alligators open their jaws wide so you can see them in action. They also have many typed of birds and a few tropical mammals like sloths and lemurs. They have Maximo, a gigantic Alligator and a zip line for the daring that goes right over the alligators. My only complaint is that we were not able to see the feeing when we went on 11/30 because it was too cold. That is understandable, but there was no communication or general announcement about the cancelation. Everyone was just standing around waiting, and about 15-20 minutes later a work walked by and told us there were no feedings that day. read more
