I have never participated in any worship services or ministry activities here, but I did recently visit the church once for a community fundraiser. I sat in the fellowship hall to eat a meal. The area was spacious and clean, and the event organizers interacted very courteously with me. I greatly appreciated their service to the community.

Northway is actually one church with multiple locations (Wexford, Sewickley, Oakland, Dormont, East End & in Feb 2018, Beaver Valley) The main campus is Wexford and all of the other sites watch the sermon via screen, although sometimes there are live sermons on campus, It may sound strange, but you truly feel like you are there and the message is loud and clear. They want all of the campuses to receive the exact same message. There are serving opportunities inside and outside of the church. All off the campuses have what is called a small group (think, Bible Study) Since it is a larger church, small groups help you create personal friendship within the church. Oakland has 3 different service times on Sunday: 9am, 11am and 5pm. All generations attend, but a large group of the attendance is from college students and 20-30s. But like I said, it is all generations. I highly recommend checking it out. Its a great church and the growth of Northway tells you that others also enjoy our church. Despite Northway as a whole and the Oakland campus having a larger attendance, you truly feel like a family here and it is not overwhelming. Everyone is so welcoming.

They purchased a new building around Easter. The church is in a more office looking building than what most people think of when they think of a church building/temple/synagogue. The 1st floor is indoor parking. They also have a small private parking lot the second floor is the Welcome Center and the children's area. The third floor is where the sanctuary is located. They have 3 services -9am, 11am, and 5pm. Their service starts with a time of praise & worship. The music is performed by a drummer, piano player, a couple of guitarists, and a violinist. I really enjoyed the time of worship. Then their is a sermon. What makes this a little different is that even though this campus of North Way has it's own pastor the sermon is given by one of the pastors that each shepherd a campus of North Way. So the sermon is "shown" live on a big screen that looks like the person is preaching from the platform where you are attending. It is streamed live from the main campus and each pastor goes to that campus to preach on their given Sunday. I thought it would be weird not having an actual pastor preaching, but you adapt quickly to the streaming. I find the concept interesting because you are able to see a couple of different preaching styles. I was at the 9am service and it was comprised of a lot of young adults but there were a few older adults. I would definitely go back. It was nice to see that my son attends a wonderful church.

The worship band was wonderful and fun with an occasional rock and roll flare which appealed to my husband and my boys, with some tender moments that my soul was craving. But the highlight for me was the message. He probably doesn't know it, but Pastor Bill was speaking directly to me today with his discussion of Daniel. He preached about remaining in integrity and obedience in public as well as private, even when it's uncomfortable. He spoke about how God may not change our circumstances or our consequences for obedience but He is always faithful and He will never abandon us. Man I really needed that reassurance today and I appreciated all the biblical references between Thessalonians and Daniel. Everyone there was kind and friendly and I can tell that they are working hard in service for the community here. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Pittsburgh and I highly recommend you check them out also. Thank you Impact Church!

It looks…read morefairly "normal" from the outside, but the inside is warm, welcoming and has a lot of beautiful detail. I have been here a few times for Mass on Sundays. At one point, they had a Sunday evening Mass which is great for busy Catholics. The community is very welcoming and very kind to families (even when their kids inevitably made some sort of noise or commotion). Mass was reverent and the music was great. Overall a great place to come for Mass.

Grand, historic landmark, founded in 1888. Its recently restored stained glass windows are a must…read moresee. Truly a fascinating accomplishment by all involved with this on-going restoration. Thanks to a recently held concert performance, I was introduced to a small sampling of what this congregation offers to the community. Besides the on-going concert series, they have a clothing ministry, monthly dollar breakfasts, a place for various groups to meet, and so much more takes place to provide support towards the needs of others. In today's climate of dwindling church membership, it is key to find other ways to stay active outside of the weekly church service. Central Presbyterian is doing a fine job with this challenge.
