The bartender was very friendly, and I struck up a conversation with most of the regulars sitting at the bar. Everyone was friendly and genuine. That can be difficult to find today. They had about four beers on draft and whatever else you might want in cans or bottles. I am not a liquor guy, but it looked like they had whatever you need to get the job done. The thing that made my visit to Bob's most worthwhile actually happened after I left. As I was walking back to my hotel, one of the local who was at the bar (but who I had not spoken to) stopped and asked if I needed a ride. Amazing. I highly recommend Bob's Lounge.

They have lots of seats, and we picked a shared high-top, but moved to another one so we could have backs on our chairs--the server and bartender were very friendly and helpful. They also changed another TV to the match so we could watch on the larger screen. I was happy they had a beer from Sturgis Brewery, as it's my new favorite brewery. I had the BLT, which was filled with lots of crispy bacon, fries, and a side of ranch. My hubby had a party melt and enjoyed it.

The bartender did acknowledge our existence initially with a cheerful, "I'll be right over!" -- a promise that turned out to be more fictional than a Disney fairy tale. Instead of coming over, she expertly perfected the art of not serving customers by exclusively tending to her friends at the bar, laughing, chatting, and clearly prioritizing everyone but us. But wait -- it gets better. Mid-shift, she decided that serving customers was overrated and serving herself was the real calling. She plopped down behind the bar, housed an entire pizza like a competitive eater, and casually sipped Mountain Dew, all while making confident eye contact with us for a solid 30 minutes like a slow-burn psychological thriller. At this point, we realized the bar's customer-to-staff ratio was perfectly balanced -- because there were no customers being served at all. An impressive business model if your goal is to win a Guinness World Record for Most Ignored Guests in a Dining Establishment. We left hungrier than when we came in, but at least now we have a great story about the bartender who redefined "service industry" to mean "self-service only." Would I go back? We went and asked for towels to shower in the morning and they said that they would put us on a waiting list. They where thinking we would have clean towels by 8am, maybe I'm being inconsiderate but this is a simple request when it comes to paying someone for lodging.
