This is a great alternative to a PCP visit NOTE: I am NOT advocating using this in place of a PCP, or not seeking medical care at all. This facility always have at least one doctor and one nurse available, as well as other medical personnel. The wait times vary, and most likely you'll wait longer Saturdays and Mondays, as they only take walk-ins. They are great for conditions like sore throats (they do throat cultures for strep), minor to moderate sprains, strains, pretty much everything short of a sucking chest wound (though most have had some ER action, and could probably pull that off, too). They also do sports physicals, and give flu shots. Be sure to check if those are covered by your insurance, unless you like surprises. They participate in just about all major insurance plans. The staff is all very pleasant, except for Lisa, who took my and Daughter's vitals yesterday. She did not crack a smile, respond to any kidding, light-hearted banter of ours, and made no eye contact. Chad, the nurse, however, and the doctor, were fantastic, great personalities, professional, polite. Make sure you have photo ID, and your insurance card upon sign in, and you're good to go! read more

Absolutely horrible! If I could give St. Clair Urgent Care a negative I would. They are NOTHING like the hospital. I would have rather paid $200 for ER services!! I went to their office at 8:00 on a Friday night. They listed hours as being open until 9:00 on the website AND office door. The registration nurse was wonderful. However, when I was taken back by the nurse's aid she refused to talk to me or make eye contact. I asked her how she was doing, no response. I asked her if I should take off my sweatshirt, no response. The second woman, a nurse or aid, who was entering information into the computer was just as intolerable towards me. The doctor then came in and spent all of one minute with me. He refused to check me for strep because I wasn't running a fever. He said "Well your throat is red and you have fluid in your ears. Try flonase." Then proceeded to tell me my discharge papers will be ready shortly and left the room. Thank goodness I was able to get in to see my PCP on Monday. Wouldn't you know I ended up with severe bronchitis, a sinus infection, strep throat, AND the infection went to my eyes. My cornea was damaged due to the infection making it's way to my eyes when it could have been taken care of with my initial visit. I will ALWAYS stick with my PCP or St. Clair Emergency Room. The doctor we saw today was terrific. Her name is Rachel Schroeder. She was dealing with an elderly patient that had fallen, she was exceptionally respectful as well as informative. I don't often write reviews, however based on the reviews I saw on yelp being opposite of the care my mom received, I felt compelled to take time to write this review. This urgent care is a disgrace. 1. I had a horrible flu a couple of months ago and I thought it was getting worse. My husband took me to the urgent care and not the hospital because we didn't feel the ER was appropriate. As soon as we got there, without even physically checking me, they said they couldn't treat me there because they didn't have an IV to treat me. So my husband drove me an additional 13 minutes to the hospital. ***I didn't think anything of it because I was sick and I just wanted treatment. So I didn't file a complaint.*** 2. My daughter has a stomach bug that caused her to have a high fever, vomiting, & diarrhea. We had already taken her to the doctors office that morning, but she seemed to get worse later that day. We wanted to take her to the urgent care because they would be able to tell us if this is a part of the stomach bug or if she was getting worse. Yet again, when we arrived, before even checking her, they said they didn't have an IV bag and so they wouldn't treat her. There's a couple things wrong with that. 1. They didn't even bother to check my child to see if that's even what she actually needed. 2. They lied and said they didn't have equipment for an IV, but when I did further research, found out that was a bold face lie. We AGAIN drove 13 minutes to the hospital. When we got to the hospital, all they did was give her a prescription for nausea and diarrhea, give her a dose of Tylenol, & then an IV. Then they sent her home. ALL OF WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN DONE AT THE URGENT CARE. We ended up spending 3 hours in the ER, when it would have probably been no more than an hour at urgent care. If you need to go to the urgent care, DO NOT GO HERE. They will probably send you away too. read more

Sick on a holiday and my PCP was not in the office. Registered for an appointment online which was very convenient. Was seen , examined, diagnosed and treated within 30 minutes (waiting room full with walk-in patients). With the proper medications I felt better within 12 hours. The Nurse Practitioner Karen was great and Beverly the nurse was very professional also. read more

After brief wait, I was directed to take a seat in an area next to receptionist. This area was separated by a wall from the waiting room. There, I registered and was asked to wait in waiting room as there were a few patients ahead of me. The staff was very pleasant. I knew I had a sore throat that day, but was unable to get to pcp or urgent care as we only have 1 car and my husband had taken it to work. Wait was not excessive, 45min. I got there at 5pm. After examination, I was given a Rapid step test which was negative. I had a temp of 101.4 so I was given instructions to go to lab across hall for a full throat culture and started antibiotics and tylenol. My PCP received preliminary report next day from lab. No bacterial infection. Told me I may have a virus. Ultimately, the Urgent care was effective. I should have called pcp early in day for script for throat culture and gone to lab at six. Oh, no urgicares do I.V. or draw blood. Just immunizations and basic exam to direct you to hospital or home. Better not to wait. Are not opened all night. I had misconception of their offerings. read more

Terrible terrible. Turned me away at desk. Nurse said what's wrong told her in front of other patients. I would think that's a violation of hippa right there. Did not even listen to all my symptoms. I had a very pleasant experience this morning. The front desk staff were very friendly and efficient. I waited less than five minutes to be taken back to an examining room where I was immediately mad buy a nurse to take my vital signs and another staff member to take my history. I then waited less than five minutes for the attending physician to come in to examine me. She was very thorough, professional, and caring. As a physical therapist who is married to a surgeon, I was very familiar with what kind of treatment I should be given. I was given the appropriate tests and medicines needed to treat my problem. The receptionist was extremely caring and nice. The nurses were cold. They gave me an antibiotic for horrible ear infection that didn't work. When I called back 3 days later after giving the antibiotics a chance they scolded me for not calling the next day. They wouldn't help me anymore knowing I had no insurance and no other place to turn. Very rude. Very upset read more
