Don't go here. They don't care to treat you. All they can do is swab you for flu/covid/strep and send you on your way in 5 minutes max. Yet somehow they don't even have rapid tests. The place looks like it's falling apart. Waiting room chairs are completely rubbed out. There is a bucket in the middle of the office collecting some type of dripping from the ceiling. read more

Why have an express care if the doctor is never there? It opens at 8 daily. One day I was told he'd be in "probably by 930" and the next day I was told "he'll be in around 10." Everyone sees the problem here, right? Don't open at 8am if you can't help people until 10am. It's just common sense. Sick and injured people are making their way there only to be turned away. I've noticed in other reviews people have the same complaint so this is definitely a typical thing and that's unacceptable. read more

I've used the urgent care multiple times since for a chest infection and sinus infection, good experience each time. The staff is wonderful, both the office people and nurses are very sharp/caring and you aren't treated like number.  The only thing I would suggest if you are going in first thing and on a tight timeline is to call first to make sure the doctor is in. On one occasion I needed stitches which was a really time sensitive situation since the injury happened the night before and the window was closing. He wasn't in yet so I had to make the long drive out to Braddock. The office admin was really apologetic about the situation and called to check up on me which was nice. I also had a billing issue but they took actions to resolve it quickly once the center was reminded of it. read more

I've been to this facility many times, it's great and convenient from where I live, that is when the doctor is ACTUALLY in. I've come in several times greeted by the receptionist with her apologizing that the doctor is NOT in. This has happened several times at 8am when they open, but today was the LAST straw- I called today at noon to make sure they were open (It was Mother's Day) and they said yes we are open until 4pm. I came down an hour later to be told that the doctor had just left for the day and they were closing. REALLY?! Don't advertise that you are an URGENT CARE facility when you decide to come and go as you please. If you the doctor needs to leave then you need to have a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner on staff to be able to see patients, and write prescriptions for those that need to be seen at at urgent care facility. This place is just overall disappointing and very unprofessional. read more

Today in the midst of the corona virus out break I think I have another sinus infection. I gets these about once/twice a year and have been here before with a sinus infection and was happy with their care. I looked up on line to see their hours and yes it says on the internet they are open. So I have my husband drive me there only to find out they are closed with a sign on the window saying they are closed per Tom Wolf regulations as they are trying to protect their workers. I understand that. However there is nothing on their web site or even if you call their office saying they are closed due to the virus. They need to update their phone message and internet site stating their closure. I already do not feel good and didn't want to be out in this weather and to make the trip all the way there to find out they are closed felt like a punch in the stomach after I already do not feel well. Please update your messages. I don't want another person not feeling well to make the trip to your office only to find out you are closed. read more

They are wonderful. You usually go somewhere because if you are sick you need meds. You can test your oxygen and your blood pressure, and your temperature at home. The dr. Has always tried to listen to me and every single time he has prescribed something it has helped. DO NOT go to med express. They tell you to go home and drink fluids! You are going to pay $135 for that? Please the next time you get sick give this urgent care a chance!! read more

So being outofstate I had called my health provider and there were no in network providers and they had no recommendations. Ended up contacting my sister who has knowledge in this field and she dug up this place My reason for coming here was due to a dogbite incident from a family pet it had happened a couple of days ago and I decided to contact my health provider and they recommended visiting a facility to have a doctor look at it The doctor gave me a little chastising about dog bites being serious but was professional about it. He wrote up a prescription and asked where I wanted to pick it up being cheap I asked if there was a costco and it turned out not that far away The nurse who took care of the wounds did a great job she had to take care of pus buildup I had to use the bus system to get here and that worked out Just to see the doctor will be an upfront $120 and the treatment was only another $175 read more

I usually hate going to these places because I usually have to wait FOREVER, but it was definitely not the case here. I paid this place a visit because my new job required a physical and a drug test. Upon walking I checked in and filled out a couple of forms. I ended up waiting about 10 to 15 minutes while watching the Steve Harvey show in their spacious and clean waiting area. Once my name was called, I was taken to get my tests done, the nurse asked me a few questions and after that the doctor came in and did a quick and efficient physical. I honestly was out the door in about 30 minutes or so. Super efficient and friendly service. Highly recommend. read more

I needed to find a place to determine whether my son had strep throat. (Spoiler alert: Yes.) I had not heard of Express Care but it was on my way home and was still open. I could not have been more pleased with the experience, which are words that I have never uttered in connection with medical services before. You never want to NEED a place like this. But, you WANT this one to be near you! My husband was hit in the eye with a softball (they lost the game sadly). We walked in and before I finished the brief paperwork, they took him vack, assessed him, and brought him to the procedure room. I got to sit with him while they stitched him, explaining everything along the way. They gave us a few bacetracin samples and sent us on our way within the hour. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. So nice to have them so close. Now we don't have to travel to Shadyside for exceptional care! read more

All of the comments on the staff being lovely and incredibly kind are accurate, so I am leaving two stars instead of one. However. I came into your office seeking help regarding muscle soreness and pain resulting from a tetanus vaccination I received a couple weeks ago. What I received, instead, was condescension and an attitude which implied I was there asking for drugs. I was not. If I wanted drugs, I could have concocted a much more believable lie than "My arm hurts as a result of the tetanus vaccine." Juan was insanely unprofessional and arrogant, suggesting I "take 800 mg of ibuprofen and a steroid" when the primary concern I came into the office with was not even about the pain. In fact, the reason I visited your office was because I first had a virtual consultation with a UPMC urgent care and the doctor I spoke with suggested I go to a local urgent care to have a doctor examine my arm as brachial neuritis is a potential, albeit very rare, side effect resulting from certain vaccinations. Instead of listening to my concerns, or even taking a moment to feel my arm (which, if he would have, he would have felt the disparity in muscle tone from one arm to the other), he spent a total *2 minutes* with me. The first 30 seconds were spent with him asking what was wrong, only for him to immediately say "Sorry, can't help you", and the next minute and a half spent condescending me. read more

Arrived at 7pm with a bad infection. Got to the door and the lights were on but door locked. Knocked for about a minute straight but no answer. Then I see the part of someone's back/shoulder from behind the receptionist desk sneakily turn the lights OFF. There's no way she didn't hear me knocking. Hours on the door clearly say "Open Daily 8am-8pm." I even called ahead of time asking if they have a cut-off for walk-ins and they said no. At least have the courtesy to tell me face-to-face why you want to cut out early and I would have been more empathetic. Came here for the good reviews and would not advise to entrust your welfare to their indecency. read more

Nice, clean facility in a great location. I came here after slicing a chunk of my index finger off with a kitchen knife... I managed to get the bleeding to stop and bandaged it up pretty well, but my mom suggested I get a tetanus booster because it had been quite some time since my last one. I called this office to ensure that they offered this vaccine and sure enough they do! I was here early on a Saturday evening, around 5:30pm, and was the only patient in the facility. The woman at the reception desk was pleasant and got me checked in very quickly. I was shown to an exam room within minutes where a kind young woman took my vitals and went over what happened and what I was there for. She left, and Dr. Arevalo was in just a few moments later. He removed my homemade gauze/paper tape finger cast and examined the wound. He explained the best course of treatment (no stitches, woo!) and then proceeded to re-dress my wound and discuss how to continue to treat my wound at home. He was very kind and had excellent bedside manner. I found that he and the nurse before him were both extremely pleasant and easy to talk to. Neither of them made me feel like an idiot for a) slicing my finger off while trying to make a breakfast burrito and b) coming to an express care clinic for a new bandaid ;) The nurse came back in after the doctor left to administer my tetanus booster and I was on my way. My entire visit, from check-in to when I got back in my car, was less than 20 minutes. Express care indeed! I would highly recommend this place as an alternative to the other urgent care facilities in the area. I'm pleased to see they have so many other positive (and well deserved!) reviews and couldn't wait to add mine to the mix... even if it took me a little bit longer to type it out with this boo-boo, haha! read more

I got there right after they opened and it was the best urgent care experience I have ever had. Every single staff member I interacted with was really nice and it didn't feel like I was trapped in a miserable chain that wants to get you out as soon as possible. I was able to get the blood testing I needed done (just a regular panel) because I don't have a PCP for a few months and needed followup on previous blood work. They called 2 days later with "results" but just told me about the one thing I had been specifically concerned about, at which point I asked if they could mail me the results as i needed to take them along with previous ones to the doctor I scheduled with. A week later they never came, so I called asking again and saying I can't really do anything about it and see the followup doctor without the results. The next day the results came in mail postmarked the day before (so they never originally sent them). When I read through it, there were a couple other things they circled that were somewhat off but didn't mention. Also it had the summary for the report which I never got when I was there, and it was all made up. It said I reported at one point pain 7/10 another point 8/10...I was never asked but would have said 0/10, as pain was not an issue I was there about or concerned with. They also made up which symptoms I reported and reported not having, only listed 2 of the 5 medications I told them I was on and added something to my chief complaint which I never stated and could not have been necessary billing wise etc. The details they came up with to describe what I reported were so specific that it is insane none of them are true. I was not asked about any of that nor said it. If any other treatment provider saw that report, they would be thrown off to what's going on because it is all false. There was no reason for them not to write an accurate report as insurance and billing wise, what I was there for and what I told them was fine, as I spoke with my insurance before I went as I wasn't sure how to get this blood work before having a PCP. I am giving 2 stars instead of one, because the office staff was courteous and nice, I got in quickly, and it was clean, etc. But there's a major issue with taking report with incorrect information to get followup from a new doctor. I had to write all over to explain what was true or not from the visit summary. read more

Yes they were quick, however that was the least of my worries. I went in knowing I had appendicitis based off of my symptoms however I went in with an open mind, hoping it was something silly. I told the doctor my symptoms (pain in my lower right abdomen for many days). The doctor felt my belly and got no reaction from me until he felt the area of my appendix. He ordered a basic X-ray which came out clear and a urine sample which he told me was clear of infection and blood however he told me I must have kidney stones, and if it gets worse, "go to the ER". He couldn't have been more wrong and I knew it! The very next day I was having an emergency appendectomy. He should have referred me to the ER that day. read more

During the fall of last year, I visited the office. I saw Dr. Arevalo and found out that I had a double ear infection. I went home and began my prescription immediately. A week later, the pain and discomfort had not changed. I put off calling due to the fact that I know that sometimes antibiotics can take a week before they change the symptoms. When I did call six days after my appointment, the staff told me to come in again. I told them I did not want to have to pay another co-pay just to get another prescription. She checked with Dr. Arevalo and then informed me that the appointment would not be charged because it was so close with the other appointment and all I needed was a new prescription. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the willing to fix the situation. At this time I would have given then 5 stars! Months later, I received a bill asking for co-pay for the second visit. I called and discussed this with the billing staff on site and he informed me that they had to charge me the second co-pay and there was "nothing they could do about it". He also informed me that the woman that I spoke on the phone who had spoken with the doctor about the billing was recently fired. That was suppose to make me feel better. I still had to pay the co-pay directly to them (it was them asking, not my insurance!). It's not about the amount of the co-pay, it's the fact that I was told one thing which turned out to be untrue. I do not appreciate untrustworthy businesses and I'm sorry that this is one of them. read more

I came in for an employment physical and PPD test and had a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was in and out; no waiting at all. The doctor was friendly and willing to answer general health questions. He spent a good amount of time with me, I didn't feel rushed or like he had something better to do. The place is very clean. Brand new facility. Would recommend going here for quick and reasonably priced physicals for school, work, sports, etc. read more

The doctor took time to listen to me and understand what was going on with shoulder. The staff seems to really care that the patients get what they need.
