St. Cyprian has a mourning support group that I find it very helpful and I highly recommend it…read more You do not need to be mourning the loss of a love one by death to join the support group, it can be the loss of your health, separation from a spouse, you name it, just don't be shy and come to join them, they're expecting you! I came to this support group after the mother of the man that I love passed away. Her death affected me so much that I couldn't be there for him the way I wanted to but God's loving care prevailed In the meantime that I was coming to the group for healing and help I was able to do the only thing that I knew it would help him, I prayed and I place him in HIS hands They say "when prayers go up, blessings come down" and I wanted him to live a happy blessed life and God's unlimited power helped him to get thru it I prayed to God to care for him, I was afraid he was going to go into a deep depression and he did but HE took care of him and in God's perfect timing he came out safe and stronger I prayed for him every single day for God to make him feel HIS love, his purpose on earth and to fill him with His peace and to never let him feel lonely and in despair Mildred's passing made me aware that I didn't heal from my grandparents passing and that I need it to take action in order for me to get well and to get the strength that I need it to help her son in any possible way Letting God step in was the best thing I could do, HE did a better job than me alone. The pain of losing a love one never goes away but we learn and get strength to carry on in life Thanks to this mourning support group I was able to accept and understand that Mildred and my grandparents had accomplished their mission on earth and that God called them home Being in the group also made me see that other people had it worse than me. Some of the participants have lost their children by suicide and the pain from the deceased gets transferred to the living. I also met the deacon of St. Cyprian's church who was going thru a deep depression after losing both of his legs because of diabetes. I'm happy to report that he is doing great now, he was able to find purpose in the middle of his suffering and now he is a living testimony. After listening to everyone's situations you become more humble and appreciative of your own journey Forever grateful for this support group that helped me understand the process of mourning and discover some ways to cope and to find a way of not losing myself In gratitude to Mildred and thanks to her son I was able to be there for Mildred's husband to cheer him up every time that he had a hard time missing his wife I understood how people mourn differently and that "life goes on" we can only choose to honor those that passed away by being happy on earth and by doing our best one day at a time I also took a fantastic Lector's training at this church that helped me to become a better lector at my own church. Grateful for this St. Cyprian doesn't have morning service on Saturdays, they only have 5:00 pm vigil mass and the church remains closed in the morning until late so don't be surprised if you go to the church in the morning and you find it closed They have an 8:30 am mass Monday thru Friday, I think this is great for retired people or anyone that's not a morning person This church doesn't offer an evening mass St. Cyprian's has 7:30 am service on Sunday. I think this is perfect if you have big plans for your day and you want to start your morning with God They have limited parking, if you get there late you might have to park by the street and it can be a challenge to find an available spot; there is also a protestant church next to St Cyprian and people come to their Sunday service too The gift shop only opens on Sunday from 8:00 am-2:00 pm except on holiday weekends. The church is located in a nice neighborhood in Manteca. There is plenty of accessible parking in the large parking lot and street. The church is bright, huge, and spacious inside. There are plenty of pews available for parishioners and guests. A large fountain area with holy water is in the front. The pristine decor is traditional and modern. Overall I enjoyed my experience of a wedding mass at Saint Anthony Catholic Church. The priest had a lovely homily about marriage of course. He was engaging and had a good sense of humor. The church served as a beautiful backdrop for the wedding.

Every one I've been to (except for one) adheres to the expositional method of Bible teaching, meaning the Bible is taught verse by verse. Calvary Chapel Long Beach is no exception. This particular Calvary Chapel does not have its own facility, so they meet for worship in the main auditorium of Marshall Academy of the Arts. The senior pastor is Roger Cochran, who teaches the Word of God verse by verse. I've been to the midweek Bible studies and on one night, Pastor Roger was out of town, so his son Andrew filled in, and he did a really great job. Andrew had a lot of enthusiasm for teaching the Word, which was quite refreshing and encouraging to see. The Sunday service meets at 9:30 a.m. The midweek study meets every Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. There is also a men's ministry, women's ministry, teen ministry and children's ministry. Additionally, there is a college group and a group for married couples. This is a solid, Bible-teaching church worth checking out. The people who attend are friendly and welcoming, too.
