I feel like sitting a little closer to stage (front-middle mezzanine or middle to back orchestra) would have a better viewing experience. The theatre actually has 2 entrances (Yonge St. and Victoria St.). The interiors are gorgeous. Staff and the customer service guy were great and helpful. They were able to heIp switching for the right date when I called about getting ones for the wrong date. Make sure to call them as soon as possible. I think there's a grace period to be able switch. Also, tickets would have to be the same price if you are switching dates and/or time. Even though I didn't get charged for switching, I have seen online that there is potentially a $15 fee for doing so.

The entrance and lobby area is quite impressive with the grand staircase and chandelier. We were there to see Water for Elephants in this two tiered auditorium that seats up to two thousand people. We had great seats in the orchestra section. With a circus theme and a great story, it was very entertaining. The theater was opened in 1920 but had significant renovations completed in 2022.

The theatres themselves are a decent size, but the draw is that no matter where you sit...you have a a great view of the stage or screen. There literally is not a bad seat in the house! I like this theatre because it often shows interesting and more unique performances. You probably aren't going to find these elsewhere so it's always a good idea to check out their website to see what they have going on. It reminds me a bit of the Soulpepper theatre in the Distillery District if one wants a rough comparison.

We loved every minute of it. They have QR codes you can scan to hear the music to accompany the art (so bring your phone). The only room for improvement would be to put the QR codes to the left of the art pieces so you can listen to it while you're passing by the art connected with the music). The artist did such a beautiful job! So many details and it was so neat to see places you have passed a million times made of paper. The kaleidoscopes were very pretty and a fun touch. I highly suggest checking this very covid friendly event out.

The space is intimate, with great sightlines and acoustics, making every seat feel close to the action. The staff are friendly and the building is clean and easy to navigate. It's a great spot for a night out without the downtown crowds, and they host a wide range of events throughout the year. The lobby is a spacious couple of stories with art hung on the wall. Each piece of art has a tag associated with it that informs you of the artist, title of artwork, medium, price and size. There were ushers ready to answer any questions and direct audience members scattered throughout the lobby. I saw second row from the stage on the left. It's nice to be close but you have to look up since the stage is higher. Also, the speakers are right in front of you so protect your eardrums with earplugs or sound isolating earphones. There is a gradient to the seating so that should help with everyone being able to see the stage. There is balcony seating with seats extending all the way to the front along both sides.

The instructor Jenelle Hanna lacked self awareness and quite honest seemed to be quite narcissistic. She lacked proper timing and needed instruction herself. It was difficult to take the little instruction there was from someone who hadn't worked in quite some time or had any acting accomplishments. There was no mental plasticity from this instructor attempting to teach students who had no acting experience. It would have been nice to have been taught by someone with experience in acting. Do better Hart House! Stop hiring out of work actors.

For some reason, I always seem to be drawn to the Royal Alexandra Theatre as four different productions I have seen in the last few years have all been there. From the physical layout of the theatre to the customer service of the staff, I have enjoyed my all around experience during each visit. I have been to the theatre with colleagues during a conference, with my sister, and with other family members over the last several years. I have sat in the balcony, front couple of rows, and further back in orchestra before, and every seat seems to be good. I often take advantage of the American Express reserved seat program to purchase a great seat not too far in advance once I have details of my travels. I have been completely satisfied with my experiences at the shows there! The Royal Alexandra Theatre is a Canadian historic landmark as the oldest continuously operating legitimate theatre in North America and the continent's first truly "royal" theatre, granted official letters patent by Edward VII entitling it to the royal designation, along with his permission to name it after his consort, Alexandra. It was built in 1907 and was Toronto's first steel-framed structure, one of the first air-conditioned buildings in the continent, and the first theatre to be considered fireproof. The Royal Alexandra Theatre is one of four theatres that is run by Mirvish. The facility is mask-friendly but by no means required. There are concessions and a coat check. It is generally accepted to arrive approximately 30 minutes before a show. If you arrive late, you may need to wait until an appropriate break in the show for you to go to your seat and not disturb other patrons.
