Stop in on a whim. We are in town from Vegas visiting, not looking for any specific running gear. However, we stopped in their smaller location since we were in the area exploring, but was directed to this store for more selection. The staff were super nice & helpful. I stopped in here to pick up my race packet for the Sun Marathon. The store looked clean and well organized. It also looked staffed with some helpful employees. They gave out solid shoe advice and recommendations to other customers inside the store. After getting my packet in the training room at the back of the store, I browsed their selection of shoes. I was tempted to purchase a new pair as my current pair was near the end of its life. However, although I've done it before, it would be unwise to run a marathon in brand new shoes. If I'm ever in the area and in need of a new pair of running shoes or some nutrition, I would definitely come here. read more

Since I live in Vegas, I had never known about this store until last week when I participated in the 2020 Southern Utah Half Marathon, which is hosted by the St George Running Center! I'm not sure how new this store is, but it is really nice, big, and well organized! Definitely has everything you'd need for your running needs! Not only do they sell tons of running shoes, but they also have a full stock of running apparel, sunglasses, hydration vests and bottles, gels, etc. I did pick up a lightweight Brooks running hat for my race after picking up my packet. Definitely worth checking out if you're a runner and in the St George area! read more

I went in thinking I'd pick a pair of Brooks in a color I liked and call it a day - wound up getting the download of the century on how to best find a shoe for one's specific foot. Completely changed how I felt running - even had an opportunity to jog around outside before I purchased them. Everyone there was super attentive to the person they were working with and clearly all highly knowledgeable in this space. Need some running shoes? Surely St. George Running Center will have the shoes you need right? Wrong. The last 5 times I have come in for some Altra Torin's (some of Altra's most popular running shoes) they haven't had a single pair in size 13. "Come in after the first! That's when we get our shipment in!" Here on the 6th and there's none. For a running store, their stock of popular shoe brands is unreliable. Staff is nice. Nice accessories. Never have what I need. This is the only place I will buy my running shoes. I'll relate my story (and no Jordan, this is not a result of bribery, I've recommended countless people there). I purchased a pair of shoes that felt great when trying them on at the store, however, after the first 2 runs in them I realized they were not going to work for me. Even after running through mud in the shoes they returned them with no questions & helped me find a shoe that works for me. Yes, they are runners themselves, but that should be viewed as a good thing, I'm not sure what running techniques Zanna is talking about, but they've done nothing but help me with my running...They DO know what they are talking about. The customer service person discussed my needs and had a look at my gait, then recommended a different pair: the Books Adrenaline. Great customer service!! Havent ran in years got back into it to get back in shape and needed a quality shoe to help. Went in November and eneded up with some zero drop shoes and left with a warning that they may take a while to get used to and I might be a little sore but would be better in the long run. Used them a total of three times and switched back to my old shoes because of the knee pain they caused. Didn't count on the store being willing to help because of the time that had gone by but decided to give it a try. Went back in and the man I think was the owner was more than happy to let me trade them in for a shoe that would work for me. Took time to watch my gait, figure out what would be best, and gave me a ton of options left with a great pair of brooks and couldn't be happier. This is exactly why I went to a local running store instead of a big box store that wouldn't have done anything close to this to make sure I was taken care of. Are you serious about your running or hiking. These guys are seriously knowledgeable about shoes, feet and what to wear. They will have you walk around and analyze your step. Then they make their recommendations based on their experience which is vast. Both Clint and Levi that helped me, log about a 100 miles a week. I was walking 25 miles a week with a 40 lb pack training for Mt. Rainer wonderland trail. Plantar fasciitis was killing me after just a few weeks of training. They both immediately recommended the same shoe, a strange French shoe that had a super thick sole but extremely light, called Hoka. I was desperate and just trusted them. After two weeks my plantar fasciitis is 80% better. I can still train all the time and with no pain because of these shoes. I actually walk on hard floors without cushioned flip flops. But because I am so afraid it will flair again, I don't do it much. I don't think I was getting a great discount on price, but I would have paid twice that for a doctor visit. I loved having experienced folks with which to discuss my problems. read more

Best customer service you can ask for ! I took my shoes back 2 times and they said no problem we want you to have the best shoes ! Places often sell two shoes to get customers into the best shoe. ( often whiney ones who cant decide) then they say hey bring one pair back for a refund. They are not about sales they are about the love of running. The salesmen are more interested in the local track and cross country athletes and who is dating who. I have been shopping here for years but I won't be back. Wow I couldn't disagree with the negative reviews more! I did see the FB post & all it asks for is an "honest review" so here goes... I am active 3-7 days a week, 2 years ago I went in to the St George running center I was that guy who always wondered why people ran if no one was chasing them! Unfortunately I had friends that were doing a 1/2 marathon & I wanted to go, so I decided to go look at some shoes. After the employee on at the time spent an hour or two with me making sure I got the best possible shoe (by analyzing my gate & having me try on at least 15 different shoes & explaining to me the differences between each of them) They recommended & I purchased a lower priced shoe that fit so well I went on to run that 1/2, another one 6 months later and now run 40-50 miles a week just for fun... I return every 6 months or so & have recommended it to many friends for the service & attention they give. When I left the store I believed they were trying to insure I had the best running experience I could have no matter who I bought my shoes from! read more

SInce I moved down from SLC 3 years ago, I have purchased close to 20 pairs of shoes from the St. George Running Center over the past 2-3 years. This is the only place I would buy running shoes in Southern Utah. I only recently got to know the owner and he is a stud who truly cares about his customers. These guys know their stuff and do a great job fitting me each time I buy. I am an intense runner (marathons, tri's, ironman) so it is great to have a shop like this in St. George that knows their stuff! read more
