As I arrived early, I killed half an hour waiting for my room by drinking a pint of Stella which was priced at £3.60. The breakfast offering looks good. Unlimited hot food and drink for £7.95 or a continental breakfast for £5.75 (as at December 2015). However being right in the centre of Leeds you are spoiled for choice. Within a few minutes walk there are plenty of national chain and independent options for a coffee, breakfast or a meal later in the day. There is also a branch of Chaophraya within the same building.

For something like $50-60 a night, you get a clean, comfortable room with a private bathroom. Yes, the room is small. Yes, the stairs are narrow. Yes, the shower lacks some water pressure (although they seem to be working on it). But recognize that you are staying at a b&b and paying $50 a night. Not a luxury hotel at $150-200/night. The hosts were very friendly and hospitable. You can specify what breakfast food you like for the morning (eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, beans, etc) and a hot breakfast will be served to you between 8:30-9 am. I had no issues with checking in and the hosts were there to show me my room and make sure I was okay. Bed was comfortable. The toilet flushed after I violated it. All was well. 10/10 would recommend.

The rooms are a reasonable size and have en-suite bathrooms. The owners are friendly and welcoming and are very accommodating. Each day you get to decide what you would like for breakfast the following morning and put your order on a sheet left in the hall. They are very flexible and willing to swap out items. The first morning I opted for scrambled egg on toast and the second a full English with vegetarian sausage, they were both very tasty. There is also a good selection of yoghurts, fruit and cereals and they will bring you brown, white or a mixture of toast. Would definitely recommend

Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them, they always remember my mobility isn't too good so arrange a suitable room. The hotel is on the main Kings Road just a few yards past the Harrogate Conference centre. The rooms are spotless and well kitted out. Flat screen TV, free WiFi, shampoo and soap, tea coffee water and biccies all available in all rooms. There is a residents lounge with big screen TV and chilled honesty bar. The garden has a seating area for sunny days which was perfect on Friday for a couple of beers in the sun. They have a very nice breakfast room which over looks the coppice. Breakfast time can be requested rather than being set to strict times like most places. Breakfast itself is spectacular, wide range to choose from with all quality locally sourced ingredients. The rooms are quiet, air conditioned and of a good size with all the usual amenities from hot drinks tray to toiletries, comfortable bed, good pillows and free wireless of a good speed. If you upgrade (or are lucky enough to be upgraded) you can also expect bathrobes, coffee machine and a few more nice surprises! The rooms are tastefully and decorated with subtlety: no garish prints here. Breakfast is tremendous! From fruits and yoghurt, continental to cooked all tastes are catered for with this brilliant buffet! I hardly needed lunch after this tremendous morning feast! Consistently the staff were a credit to the chain: all really friendly and willing to bend over backwards for you as a guest! It's a nice touch but having reception staff that remember your name and take an interest is really special in this anonymous day and age! The bar is very pleasant and quiet. The evening meals are very average and a bit pricier than they deserve - a short walk into the town and you'll find some excellent restaurants that will cost you less. The thing that Novotel excels at is their service, comfortable rooms and the breakfast. Yes, the breakfast. The food on offer is great, freash and of a good standard. All in all, a pleasant and comfortable stay.
