My friend has been getting ketamine treatments for chronic pain at St. James Pain Center. Her last appointment was scheduled for November25. On the 24th she was notified the appointment was cancelled because the elevator was out of service. She is an otherwise healthy and active 28-year-old, perfectly capable of taking the stairs down to the clinic. She was not offered that option, and her reschedule is over 2 weeks farther away. Because the elevator wasn't working? That is just plain stupid and inexcusable. She, and all patients, deserve a much better level of concern and care. Part of the goal and efficacy of ketamine is dependent on a regular schedule to retrain the pain source. Now she will endure her pain for that additional time and lose part of the treatment advantage. How in good practice and patient concern did this happen? Someone forget their Hippocratic Oath? I have to exercise all my will power to refrain from becoming REALLY unprofessional with these comments! read more

I had my best friend in St. James ER just over a week ago and even though she was ambulanced there twice a Dr. Coch (I'm not sure in spelling it was pronounced Dr, Cook) he refused to admit her...the next Dr. to come on had her in the icu within an hour...she's now in icu in Seattle! No reason to admit her Dr. Coch? Your treatment or lack there of rather was negligent!!! Your lack of practice of the hippocratic oath, to do no harm was blatant!!! You did nothing but harm!!! And your bedside manner sucks!! You on top of being incompetent, are a jerk!!! read more

I brought my brother in to the ER last night at around 8pm for Atrial Fibrillation. He was tended to immediately with care and precision. I didn't get our admitting nurses name, she is terrific. Dr. Opher and Jordan (RN) were top-notch. They kept us abreast of exactly what was going on and what our options for treatment were. Once decided, they administered Promptly. My mother had brain cancer after working her entire life now she going back into not making sense when having a conversation with her and right now today there sending her back home by herself ive tried stressing this is dangerous for her and denied being put into assisted living she owns her house. What do they expect is going to happen after discharging her and they claim to be compassionate and to care but tgey absolutely Do Not its all about them on top of that my mom went to the hospital at night at 2:00 am they demanded that i need to wake up and answer some questions about my mom because they werent gonna wait until normal daytime hrs and i had to be to work at 8 oclock that morning felt so disrespectec that they even called at that time these werent direct medical related questions like about say being allergic to something like that no they were financial questions she on medicare they couldve waited for someone that worked there whole life there not willing to give any help im so frustrated and appalled by them so much i had to let others be aware of this total lack of care no other way to put it read more

I was in a car accident, not to far from Butte, Montana. I some how had hit my shoulder during the accident. I had tried to sleep on it and had a really hard time because it was hurting so much. I talked to the insurance lady the next day, and she said to go get it checked out. I went to St. James hospital emergency room. I checked in at the registration desk, and used the number that I had gotten for our accident claim. The staff and nurses were very kind and courteous. They performed an x-ray on my shoulder, and found out that it wasn't broken. Edward Amberg PA was my attending. He just said it was going to be sore for a while. I asked if I could possibly get an injection for the pain and so that I could get some sleep, since I hadn't been able to the night before, and because I have EOE, which causes pain pills to make me vomit. He said he didn't have anything that would do that. He instead gave me a pill called Flexeril. He said that it would take the pain away and that it would make me drowsy so that would be able to sleep. I took the pill and went back to our hotel. It did nothing to relive the pain, or to make me drowsy enough, so the I could sleep through the pain. He assumed since I wanted a pain shot, that I apparently was an addict. I am not. I just wanted to get one good night's sleep, so that I would have more intestinal fortitude to be able to endure the pain. For the record, the last pain shot I have had was two years ago, for a very nasty bladder infection. The Dr. volunteered it to me, so I took it. I would recommend the staff at St. James emergency room, but as for Mr. Amberg, I felt that he was a deceiver and dishonest. read more

I underwent a disk replacement surgery a couple of days ago, and was very impressed with the level of service and care that I received from all of the staff at St James! When we did see the physician I attempted to ask a question on several different occasions, was talked over and my question was ignored. St. James sucks I had same procedure in Anaconda it cost me a $1000 less due to there billing.Plus my wife missed one payment and they turned us in to collections which was not right and try to clear that up for your credit score! So from now on even if I'm bleeding to death I'll try and make the trip to Anaconda. read more

I was sick and went to the ER to find out why my eyes were red, and told the ER doctor that this has been going on for a year. I wasn`t feeling well. I think something internal was going on. This is why I went to the ER. I told him my left side hurt. and last night at work I had cold sweat. He told me that ER is for emergency use. Didn`t seem to care. Just wanted know if I wanted to do blood work. He left the room. I left the ER room and went home. That hospital don`t care if you live or die. I`m calling the Hospital director about this treatment I received. Not medical! read more

My husband received excellent care in the emergency room after an accident, and all of his follow-up visits have been very satisfactory. When he was first injured, he was admitted into the ER immediately, and the doctors on call kept us up-to-date on everything that was occurring. The only issue we had was that one doctor was initially somewhat rude, getting us rather confused and irritable regarding post-operative instructions, although when my husband complained, this doctor did come back and took more time with explaining the scenario, which I appreciated. I thought about knocking off a star due to my husband's agitation with this doctor, but everyone else was so helpful that I can't justify it. From scheduling him with a specialist out of town to taking care of what could be done locally, the team at St. James was wonderful at a very stressful time.
