Attended the dumplings class on pride Sunday. The class was full with 12 people attending. It was a…read morefun time. We were able to all meet and talk and cook together. We had a lot of fun. Janet was our teacher and she moved us through the stations and helped us make delicious dumplings from all over the world. The class took about 2 1/2 hours which included a small break in between where we could go and sit outside in the lovely backyard and then eating time this was a lovely way to spend our Pride Sunday. Really nice way to meet new people and talk food.

As always, it's always more fun to see a show when you know it so Six is my personal favorite, but they've all been impressive and on the level of some of the local high school productions (ex: New Trier) that I've seen. Whether it be ACT, SAT, math, science, reading, comprehension, the learning clinic will give you the necessary skills to make you a resourceful, proactive, and more confident individual. I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Jordi Kleiner, for two years and what we have been able to accomplish together is beyond what my parents and I could have ever imagined. I would also highly recommend Craig Elerkin for ACT and SAT (though he has been able to help me beyond preparing for these tests). The learning clinic grows with you. I have been able to use the clinic throughout high school and I am certain I will continue to use their services in college. Whether your child is 5 years old or 17 it is never too soon or too late to consider the learning clinic. Bring your kids here to allot them the tools to be independent learners and thinkers. All the teachers at Truman truly care about their students and they're passionate about what they do. I've not once seen a teacher come to work with a frown or with a bad attitude. The staff is extremely resourceful. The deans are also super cool and down to earth. Everyone here acts like they're part of a family. If you live in the suburbs, its worth it to pay out of district and make the trip up to the city to attend Truman. Its worth it. Not all community colleges are the same.

My rating is solely because I've been on a bunch of campuses for book signings, and it's ALWAYS super complicated to figure out how to get from Point A to Point B (including my own alma maters). I went to this location solely for a Red Cross blood donation drive. I love how their campus is set up. Not only did they have signs on the doors and a cone out front to figure out which building to get into, but as soon as I opened my mouth to ask a student where the building was, I turned and saw a clear map to find it on my own. (I was super close so she pointed me the rest of the way. Friendly young lady.) Since I can no longer find this location in upcoming blood drives, I'm assuming that Red Cross may not be there permanently. But the campus is clean. The front desk people (for the school) were professional. The two students (workers?) who were on the Red Cross side were organized and professional. And the attendees behind the tent were great too. I hope Loyola Rogers Park makes this a permanent thing. Although I walked, it's very convenient that it's accessible by the el. And it was nothing at all like all the complications I experienced at another facility trying to donate plasma. It took me longer to walk to the school than it did for the actual six-minute donation. Kudos to them for allowing Red Cross onto their campus.

My 2 older kids had tests this week and asked me to book sessions with the House so i called and they were able to set my daughter up with Silas and my son up with Emmy at the exact times I wanted. That alone is a win! We've used many of their tutors (Kyle and Young to name a few) at this point and they've said great things about all of them. Silas and Emmy were no exception and helped them review for their math tests. I also received notes from each of them a few days later recapping how the session went, which is super helpful for a parent. When my kids attend New Trier at the Winnetka campus I could see us resuming our membership, but in the meantime it's a great option for sporadic tutoring.
