Interior of church is beautiful and the stain glass walls and ceiling will have you looking up for a while . The congregation is on the small side, so we are never lost in a sea of people, or unable to make connections. I'm guessing there are generally between 70 and 140 people who come on any given Sunday. We are often away on the weekends, so cannot be at church every Sunday, and appreciate that we are welcomed warmly and never made to feel badly for not coming more regularly. If you wonder why I am posting this, I just happened upon yelp when I was searching the church online and saw that there is just one review. I thought back to how big a task it felt to find a church in the first place when we moved here. I searched online, knowing Baptist was a solid starting point, and found 3 in a radius around our home. One had no info on their website, and the other looked like it might have last been updated 10 years prior. Not really acceptable in this day and age. GBC had a good website at the time, so we gave it a try and were so pleased to find we were led to the right church on try one! If you are searching for a church, regardless of whether you are a strong believer who is firm in their faith, or one who just doesn't really know what they believe, I assure you, they will welcome you, but also release you. You'll have an opportunity to share your contact information on a card you drop in the offering plate. If you share it, but also note that you don't want to be contacted, they will honor your request. If you share it and ask for more information, they will absolutely follow up with you (but not hound you!). It is truly a Christ filled church. There are young families, singles, older families, elderly, multiples races represented in the congregation. You will fit right in :-)

The spirit of love in this church has deeply touched my family. GBC welcomes everyone. The members serving in the Children's Ministry are loving and sincere. I have twin babies in the nursery, a toddler, and a Kindergartner and I am thrilled with the classroom setting and age-level appropriate BIble teaching that my children receive every week from patient, caring, and loving volunteers. The worship service is from 9:30-10:30 and is followed by a 30 minute visiting/coffee/snack time (snacks are provided). Then from 11-12 children and adults can attend Bible classes - all of which are all wonderful. My husband and I look forward to the adult Bible class every week. It is one of the best we have attended. I cannot say enough about how much we love this church and look forward to Sunday mornings . This church is firmly rooted in Bible teaching and a genuine love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is extremely family friendly and the genuine spirit of the members speaks for itself. I graduated from St. Clare's as well as my entire family. We all made all our sacraments here…read more Unfortunately over the years, the mission and heart of this Parish diminished in a very negative and disturbing way. We have all since moved out of the bronx but still visit the Church on a weekly basis and donate cash in the baskets at Mass. I am Baptism a newborn and was told that because I do not have a envelope number I would not be able to be provided a Sponsor Letter. I was told that even mailing 50 cents a week would constitute me as a practicing Catholic. I signed up on line for weekly donations so my name would be attached to the money so the Church could prove my donations. The secretaries are rude and had the audacity to get loud on the phone and hung up on me multiple times. Shouldn't they be a little nicer and respectful to the general public?? The hostility from these people has me baffled. My 3yr old son can recite the Our Father, Hail Mary, and 10 Commandments word for word. That makes me a practicing Catholic. Sharing my faith and teaching the Good Word to my child. Sending money doesn't make me or anyone else a practicing Catholic. Where in the Bible does it say we need to give money to be loved and saved by the Lord Jesus Christ. Yelling and hanging up the phone on people should not be tolerated by anyone especially personnel from the Church. Money doesn't define a Catholic. Your faith, your words, your actions, and how you live out your faith everyday does. Anne, my God knows I practice my Faith everyday and have past it along to my husband and son. May God forgive you for defining someone's faith with a dollar sign and may he have mercy on your soul.
