As a former employee of Seaborn Day School Early Years in Beach Park, I believe some of my insight…read moremay be helpful when deciding who to trust with your child. As respectfully as I can, I urge you to choose another facility. Here are a few examples: We were instructed to always tell the parents that their child had a good day- even if they had a terrible day. We were told that "if it was bad enough to tell them, we would have called". I did not agree with that policy, nor did I follow it. I am glad to have had a comfortable relationship with the parents of my kids in my class, so I would always tell them the truth about their child's day. There have also been some licensing concerns that have gone ignored by the directors and owner. One specific instance was during our afternoon nap, we would combine a couple of rooms. We were always over-ratio, with more kids than allowed with the amount of adults we had. When licensing pointed that out, we asked our director about it later and suggested breaking our nap into a couple rooms instead of one. Our director then told us that we wouldn't do that, instead if licensing came again, we would just "pull a few kids into the common area" before they came back to check our room. That is a clear example of the director putting her own convenience in place of the safety of the children. I have personally witnessed the director lying to parents about what we do and don't do... We did not clean our toys daily or weekly like my director informed the parents. In fact, the only time I pulled out all of my toys and thoroughly washed them was after my class had a couple Covid cases. In addition to those things, we constantly had ants crawling everywhere. On the countertops, on the high chair trays, and on the floor. We brought it to our director's attention many times, but nothing was done. My director also lied about contacting parents when she said she had. We had a student who was out for a couple days, so we asked the director about him. (We LOVED those kids like our own and we were worried!) She then told us that she would contact his parents and ask for us. Another week went by, and the child finally returned. We asked mom where they had been, since our director told us she never got an answer after reaching out "multiple times". On the contrary, the student's mom told us that she never received a call or text from our director. While my coworkers and I were always loving and compassionate, I do not think that we were able to make up for the systematic downfalls of this school. I want the best for your children, ad in my opinion, Seaborn Beach Park will not be anywhere near the best.

School is an IB choice program school. Despite being historically old, this school is beautiful! The staff has always been friendly and in visiting for the IB overview a few weeks ago, teachers seem supportive. In my calls to the school recently pertaining to the program, staff has always been available or if I left a message I received a call back very promptly. My daughter applied for the IB program and got in for this school year which continues our family history of attending HHS. Drop off and pickup convenient off of Central Ave. Despite the school having a high attendance, traffic flows quite smoothly.

In conjunction with standard programs, Hillsborough has offered the International Baccalaureate program since 1994. If you graduate from this program, you receive some nice benefits (i.e. AP credits, Bright Future scholarship). Even if you attend standard classes, you'll still get a quality education. Positives: The teachers are pretty responsive and generally keep parents updated on progress. Drop off in front of the school is relatively easy, even with the crowded parkjng situation. Some drawbacks: AC units aren't always in the best shape (inconsistent heat, AC, and humidity through the building). The bathrooms aren't the best (missing doors, no TP). I'm not sure these are just issues at this school, could be a countywide issue. Overall, experiences here have been positive and I can strongly recommend the IB program. Go Big Red!

Before coming here, our child attended a great public school, but I could tell the gifted program there just wasn't enough for him. I trusted my instincts, and I was right. Since starting at Lee, I've seen a remarkable difference in his development, his curiosity, and his overall attitude toward learning. The environment at this school is incredibly supportive and tailored to gifted students. The small class sizes and individualized attention have made such a positive impact. My child is challenged in the best way, and I can see him thriving academically and socially. Finding Lee Academy feels like discovering a hidden treasure. I am so grateful we made the decision to join this school community.

The office staff for the most part are wonderful! There are a few you'd like to bop on the head. Mostly helpful and polite. There is usually a volunteer in the front office helping out as well. There is a full time nurse in site who takes care of everything medically related. The school is clean, like any place in Florida there are bugs but not from dirt. They repaint it the same ole boring colours of cream and turquoise. But the district only allows for a choice between two colours. There is a gym/cafeteria/auditorium. There is a huge back PE area. Field, court and playground. All is fenced in and locked up when school is in. The only way you can get in is through the front office with an ID in hand. There is a library, which is always in need of gently used books. There is a media center and a computer lab. There is no pre-school offered but there are special needs ISD classes. Limited parking in three lots. One of them is mainly teacher parking off to the side of the school. One of front and one in the back by the car circle. You can come have lunch with your kiddo which is pretty cool and they are always looking for volunteers for various things.

Well it's almost that time for my first born to start elementary school and man I'm not ready…read more My wife entered our daughter into the magent lottery for Roland Park and she was selected and were here today to go on a tour of the school. Beautiful school no special effects but just well maintained and man the programs they have here are intriguing. We were able to see most of the school but mainly Kindergarten classes while in session. Each class we entered a student would speak to us and i was amazed with the students well spoken and very knowledgeable about their topic. Everything seems great about this school from the outside looking in, once my daughter completes her first year I'll write an update review. Now the reason my wife choose this school was because she was told how diverse Roland park was and I'm here to tell you that's not true from what i witnessed. We visited maybe 7 different classes and not one black or latino teacher. Each class had one black student and yes i was looking. We saw teachers in the hallway walking their students from classes to classes and nope no diversity in sight. Definitely not surprising being that most folks see corporate America as diverse because they're a handful of black and brown folks in a office. Maybe they do have black and latino teachers but i didn't see not one and honestly i only saw one staffer that was black the entire 2hrs we was on the tour. Nevertheless the verdict is still out but looks to be a good school and i hope my daughter first experience in this school is a good one
