As a former employee of Seaborn Day School Early Years in Beach Park, I believe some of my insight…read moremay be helpful when deciding who to trust with your child. As respectfully as I can, I urge you to choose another facility. Here are a few examples: We were instructed to always tell the parents that their child had a good day- even if they had a terrible day. We were told that "if it was bad enough to tell them, we would have called". I did not agree with that policy, nor did I follow it. I am glad to have had a comfortable relationship with the parents of my kids in my class, so I would always tell them the truth about their child's day. There have also been some licensing concerns that have gone ignored by the directors and owner. One specific instance was during our afternoon nap, we would combine a couple of rooms. We were always over-ratio, with more kids than allowed with the amount of adults we had. When licensing pointed that out, we asked our director about it later and suggested breaking our nap into a couple rooms instead of one. Our director then told us that we wouldn't do that, instead if licensing came again, we would just "pull a few kids into the common area" before they came back to check our room. That is a clear example of the director putting her own convenience in place of the safety of the children. I have personally witnessed the director lying to parents about what we do and don't do... We did not clean our toys daily or weekly like my director informed the parents. In fact, the only time I pulled out all of my toys and thoroughly washed them was after my class had a couple Covid cases. In addition to those things, we constantly had ants crawling everywhere. On the countertops, on the high chair trays, and on the floor. We brought it to our director's attention many times, but nothing was done. My director also lied about contacting parents when she said she had. We had a student who was out for a couple days, so we asked the director about him. (We LOVED those kids like our own and we were worried!) She then told us that she would contact his parents and ask for us. Another week went by, and the child finally returned. We asked mom where they had been, since our director told us she never got an answer after reaching out "multiple times". On the contrary, the student's mom told us that she never received a call or text from our director. While my coworkers and I were always loving and compassionate, I do not think that we were able to make up for the systematic downfalls of this school. I want the best for your children, ad in my opinion, Seaborn Beach Park will not be anywhere near the best.

Our family has been part of the Goddard of South Tampa community since the school first opened…read moretheir doors in November 2020. My oldest graduated from the pre-k program two years ago and my youngest graduates this May. We have made so many wonderful memories at Goddard over the past five years and I have so many positive comments about this amazing school! The three-story building is absolutely stunning!!! Each floor has their own private outdoor playground and the second and third floor have indoor gyms that are used for recess, book fairs, and special events. I feel that it is so crucial to have an indoor play space for inclement weather and am grateful that the children are able to play and exercise every day. The clean and modern classrooms are stocked with the newest toys, books, and learning materials. Each preschool teacher is provided with flatscreen televisions so that they can utilize educational videos that relate to the weekly lessons. My son's class just finished learning the alphabet and now is working on sight words so he will be ready to succeed in kindergarten. We have had so many kind and caring teachers over the past five years including Ms. Jasmine, Ms. Lindsay, Ms. Shinese, Ms. Brenda, Ms. Liza and Ms. Trish. These teachers have made my sons into smart, sweet, and respectful little boys! While there has been some turnover in teachers, it has only been the teacher's assistants and not the main teachers of the classrooms. During the transition the school has done an amazing job of filling any open spots with the students' previous teachers and teacher assistants so that the children are always surrounded by a familiar face. We are going to miss so many teachers and staff members who we have gotten to know over the past five years. I will also miss so many of the Goddard's annual events, including: Parent's Night Out (because all parents deserve a date night or night off!), lunch with your littles, Family Food Truck Fridays, Trunk-or-Treat, splash Fridays during the summer, the annual Jack Hartmann concerts, and the annual Easter Egg Hunt.

I am attaching this email to show the seriousness of a short lived time for our daughter at this school. We were on a multi year wait list to get in and were excited to open a new chapter for our daughter. For them to say, "Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment." really doesn't sound accurate to me. If you want to respond to this review, you can keep your corporate 1-800 # because we have learned to not trust Goddard. Sometimes changing a policy isn't a bad thing. The administration falsely labeled the student as having "uncontrollable behavioral issues" yet never provided documentation, a behavioral improvement plan, or any effort to partner with the family. Instead of taking the time to support and guide, the school chose to push the student out by unenrolling without care or compassion. Charter schools are supposed to provide opportunity and individualized support. What happened here was the opposite. We got dishonesty, exclusion, and neglect. Seeing that I went to Lambkins as a child as well as my husband's kids, I figured Lambkins was a…read morenice, safe environment for my son; also since they are in a church I had higher expectations. First off reflecting upon customer service, the director Jamie and her assistant Sharon do not know how to make parents feel at ease. Their customer service is terrible and they don't care about how people feel, as long as they get cash. Jamie told all of her staff personal information about my husbands past and we had to hear it from others at that daycare. Super uncomfortable and unprofessional . After the word got around about my husband, we started receiving information about how our son gets treated based on the rumor created by THEIR DIRECTORS. My son had a morning teacher and afternoon one. They couldn't get along because the AM teacher would blame her for everything and call her names, stating that my child is unlovable because I complain too much and that I like her because she can fake it and be sugary sweet. I complained because my son's stuff constantly got "lost". Numerous packs of diapers were lost, formula was given to other children and they despised me for raising concern. They always called us to come get our son because he had apparent diarrhea, or rashes. Once we had to leave work to take him to the doctor per their request, in a couple more days they tell us he is sick again. Even though our doctor just wrote a note for him. It's a constant struggle to leave work multiple times a week to get our son because they think they can diagnose children. They told us our son had scabies and told other people he was contagious, turned out it was my son's sensitive skin. As parents we understand that babies get sick, but as a daycare you can not diagnose babies. They did not have a nurse there, and each time they called us to get him, he was fine. If I had to describe their work environment, it would be similar to a high school. Pretty drama surrounds all who enter. Not to mention this daycare is at a church. Such a poor reflection of ethics. The last straw for me was hearing that my son's head was held down in his crib. I am so glad I took him out and now have a good person to watch him. Sharon and Jamie are deceptive and stick together to bring others down. I received pictures of my sons left over food in the garbage, after I asked for the rest to be sent home. They have a rug in the infant room that is never vacuumed, bugs in the room and also did not shut down when one of their staffs babies exposed all of our kids to hand foot mouth. Disgusting place and the worst first experience for me as a first time mom. DCF will be ashamed to receive this review as well. Please don't let the church atmosphere fool you into believing this place is safe for your kids.
