Though they accept patients based on the appointment, there is still little wait time before they take you in. The staff in the hospital were professional. The technician was warm and efficient. Waiting area was well maintained. The facility was not crowded and everything went smooth.

I recently interviewed and accepted a position at St.Joe's Trinity Ann Arbor. I was amazed and cried saying, "They're finally listening." There are so many advances in this hospital and they aren't just fluff. They're real and being used every day. To start, there are more staff with beneficial variations to staff positions, more training, very nice accommodations for patients including no more than 2 to a room. Significant advances to the menus and various food options for patients, families, and staff. Did you know, They grow their own herbs and vegetables on the campus of the hospital. Management has become more active on the units and have no problem answering call lights or helping where they are needed. There are updates to the TV's, availability of all genres of music to listen to, and to be able to go outside. We have state of the art technologies to keep the staff safe. There are a whole lot of problems in health care. I can really see that the people here at St. Joe's Ann Arbor are really working to be better. It is my hope and prayer that we continue to make these tremendous strides to provide excellent care and comfort to all. I was not disputing the amount, just taking time closing accounts and transferring funds. Today, MARCH 6TH, I got a letter from a COLLECTION AGENCY. 15 days BEFORE the bill is due, I now have to deal with a collection agency. I have to keep copies, files, send a letter of validation of debt, maybe even hire an attorney to protect me against this shady collection agency. I'm not going down quietly. I sent letters to Trinity, my state senator and will also send one to the Attorney General's Consumer Complaint Division. Trinity's GREED is horrible. Supposedly, a Christian hospital. Truth in advertising, change your name to, It's All About The Money.

I was seen by multiple doctors on my first day and had an incredibly large (almost too large - it was impossible to remember names) care team. Not a single person was unpleasant or difficult to work with. Truly an excellent team all around. The facilities, on the other hand, were a bit lacking. Sure, I'm not expecting a 5 star hotel, but the bathroom in my room was a little grimy and they definitely could have made the common areas more enjoyable (eg more communal seating around a TV, some games or books out for entertainment, etc). There was truly nothing to do during down time besides lay in bed and stare at the ceiling. It's a shame because they even have a little free library downstairs in the main wing of the building where they could take/trade books if needed. Of the (unfortunately many) psychiatric wards I've been in, this was by far the worst in terms of opportunities to entertain yourself in between groups. The groups, however, I found were nicely varied. For example, we had pet therapy one day, an exercise group another, a relaxation group, and so forth. It definitely cut out some of the monotony I've experienced elsewhere when every group is some BS about coping skills or CBT/DTB. One major plus I found was that the food was good, exceptional by hospital standards, and you could order your own meals from a fairly expansive menu. Overall a pleasant enough experience, relatively speaking. They should be impressed with their employees in particular.

Per his treating physicians, he ended up dying as a result of a massive brain bleed due to a Heparin overdose sometime during the night. One of the doctors indicated that there could have been an issue with communication between the computer in his room and the pharmacy. When asked by the doctors, who were both very remorseful, what I wanted, I said I wanted to know what went wrong to assure this error doesn't happen to anyone else. They stated the matter would be reviewed and that the resulting information would be shared with me. To this day, no one has reached out to me. I have been in contact with both Patient Relations and Risk Management, both departments assuring me that someone will call me--but still no call. Here is the mission of Trinity Health: We serve together in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities. Among their Core Values are reverence, justice, and integrity. If someone would reach out, I would tell them that I am not interested in money, but by their lack of response, it seems that they have most certainly made it their priority.

There is absolutely no justification for this type of treatment or service. The care and the room upon getting to the room is very good but the wait time is horrific and unjustifiable though one of the nurses said it's been that way since Covid but I still don't understand how a "professional " healthcare system anywhere can operate in this manner. I couldn't be happier with the care I have received from her. She's pleasant, attentive, and solutions oriented. She helped me with referrals to specialists and follows up with test results. My only complaint is the front desk staff is not professional. They are always talking loudly about topics that are better for a break room or perhaps a bar. I could care less who is sleeping with who ladies! Once when I came in, I was quite nauseated so I told the nurse I would be in the corner in case I became sick. I didn't want to gross out the other patients. I sat with my head down. After what seemed like forever, I looked up and noticed I was the only one in the waiting room. My watch indicated I had been waiting 65 minutes! I went to the counter and the staff were scrambling. I heard one say "We forgot about her" I was not happy. They got me into a room quickly but because of their screw up the doctor was out of schedule. I told the Doctor and she said she would address it. I also have used the Physical Therapy Services and they are great. Sheila was wonderful!

Especially the Male Dr. That took the time to help us even though his discharge papers show the female doctor on duty should have seen him. She was no where to be found until we were being discharged. This was the first time that we actually had great service at Garden City Hospital. The wait was less than an hour. The Dr was very kind and patient. He talked us through everything going on and what we would need to do for follow up care. It was a great experience all things considered

The nurse could have been more helpful and should practice better beside manner. They didn't do anything worth the amount of the bill I've gotten. Crazy part is they bill the same price for everything, my son went months before me and our bill was the same. 2 different issues, that's no coincidence. I'll never go back if I can pay that I'd rather do to the real emergency and actually have test ran.
