Just wanted to clear something up regarding what Judy H. wrote about St. Joseph's. Nobody is forcing anyone to "sing and signal your hands" its called sign language. If you don't wish to participate, that's your prerogative. Personally, I find it fun, engaging, and a wonderful way to participate in the service. One of our parishioners is deaf, so incorporating sign language is a thoughtful way to help him feel included and welcomed as a valued member of our parish community. As for our pastor, he is amazing. He goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome, and that spirit of hospitality is one of the many things that makes St. Joseph's such a special parish. read more

I can't believe I am here writing a bad review on a Church, but here I am. I called for dates to have my son baptized and was given two available for March. After calling the restaurant for the brunch I was planning to check in on availability, I called the church back to schedule and spoke to a very rude lady who told me they wouldn't baptize my son unless I got a letter from my local church just a town away, giving them permission to baptize. This made no sense to me, my two other children and my husband were baptized here and I didn't have an issue before. It was also very important for me to have my last child baptized here but she couldn't give me a reason why she just said she would have the Priest call me. He calls me back and is probably one of the most rude and condescending people I've ever dealt with. The reason he gave me was because of staffing and he lets everyone in there won't be anyone to service all of these people he will be dead. I was speechless. I asked him how a letter from my local church would make any difference if the issue was due to staffing, because I don't have time to do this considering I just booked a restaurant based off of the date they gave me just earlier today. His reply was, well who has a manpower issue now? Again, I'm in shock as he continues to tell me I need to be quiet and listen to him. I reminded him that regular people in the world should not be communicating to each other the way he is right now, and he is a man of the church so this is even more shocking. And I asked him if he feels good about himself turning down my son to be baptized and he just said if you're trying to guilt me it's not working. Please consider other options to bring your children. read more

I adore this place. It's just so serene. This is a place I like to go to just clear my head and "connect". It is impeccably maintained and just one of those places you can sit in quiet, collect your thoughts and "In-joy" yourself and replenish the soul. I never thought I would YELP a church but I have been coming here for years (since I got my first car in high school..yup, early 90's) It has a wonderful community and is truly what a real church is all about. I have attended mass & weddings there for years and its always done very well. Very enjoyable and a nice "home" type feeling The stained glass is just magnificent. There are also places to give donated food, toys, clothing to help pay it forward for others. read more

Beautiful church Father Mike is amazing!! I must say all Priests are loving and caring, all the activities, the people is super nice!!!

This parish used to be nice, until Father Bala was assigned there. He yelled at and humiliated me in confession a few times over minor sins. It got so bad, I reported him to the pastor. The pastor spoke to him, but things didn't change much after that. He was still very nasty. He even implied that I would go to hell for just thinking about a woman. Thoughts, not actions. He didn't even care that I suffer from a serious illness. No compassion from him. It is all condemnation from this priest. I now dread going to confession at this parish when I see Father Bala is the only one there. Confession is about mercy and forgiveness, not to make people feel like garbage. Father Bala raised his voice a few times in the confessional and I wonder if the next person in line heard what was said, which if they did could constitute breaking the seal of the confessional. If all priests were as nasty as Father Bala, there would be hardly anyone going to church. This priest needs to be censured for his reprehensible conduct and I am most likely going to report him to the bishop. read more
