The Famous St. Laurent Brothers candy store
    Lisa V.

You can't go to Bay City without making a trip to the famous St. Laurent Brothers candy store. I have been going to this place since I was little and there are just some things that you can't get anywhere else. I picked up my favorite "flying saucers", which is a round wafer with tiny candy balls inside. I used to play "communion" with these little buggers way back in the day. Also picked up some of the wax bottles with flavored syrup in them. This place brings back good memories of days gone by and you just can't help wanting to go back in time to the good old days. They have a lot of homemade candy/chocolates, popcorn balls, mallo-cups (My favorite) penny candy (which is no longer a penny) and just candy that you just can't get at your local supermarket. Love going back here to reminisce.......

    So many delicious choices!

Adorable nostalgic candy store with so many choices. Old time candy, taffy, jelly beans, ice cream, house made roasted nuts and their delicious handmade famous chocolates. I was pleasantly surprised how delicious and of great quality were their chocolates. I felt for great quality delicious fresh tasting chocolates their prices were pretty reasonable. The candy store is in a cute area of bay city along the riverfront. It's a great place to meander with all the eye candy! And the staff is super friendly and helpful! Check this place out!

I've been going to St Laurent Brothers all my life and it is a staple of Bay City. This candy store has such a wide selection. They have chocolate dipped candies behind the counter to the popular packaged candy throughout there store. You definitely need to try the chocolate covered peanuts and sea foam. They also have ice cream available. The shop is very clean and organized. The staff is friendly and helpful. One benefit of St Laurent Brothers is it is next to a small sitting area near the Saginaw River, which is nice to eat your candy/ice cream and take in the view. I can't wait for my next trip to Bay City to stop at this home town candy store.

    Chocolate shark!

Can get a lot of old fashioned candies here. Place to go for holiday nuts and fruit cake ingredients. Shopped there for over 50 years.

LOVE The Nut House. Every time we visit, from Texas, we make sure to stop in for some treats.

We have introduced many friends to the Nut House experience and they too take a detour to include this stop in their trips up north.

Cute little store. Lots of grains and healthy food options, including a huge selection of teas. I…read morebought ear candles here and then found other goodies. They have healthy chips...Like ones with olive oil and rosemary and sweet potato. There is also quite a few gluten free options and mixes. Buy almond milk here and vitamins!

Only giving 1 star because I can't give zero…read more I suggest calling/looking around if you're thinking about buying anything here. It's been a while (4-5 months) since I purchased Roasted Chicory, but when I went in to pick up 1 lb of it that I ordered, the price on bag was $34 and some change. I mentioned to the clerk I thought that was REALLY expensive and he said "well it might be organic, and there is 1.25 lbs in the bag". Ok, let me break this down 1) Might be organic? You're not sure?! 2) I asked for 1 lb, not 1.25 lbs. 3) ANY OTHER TIME I've ordered this from any health food store it always comes in the Frontier Co-op foil packaging. I've never gone to pick up a bulk order of 1 lb, that I called about and pre-ordered, and had it repackaged (and incorrectly at that)! What is with this place? 4) When I placed this order, 2 MONTHS AGO, I also ordered 2 bottles of rosewater AND when the clerk called me to pick up the order he mentioned my order of "chicory and rosewater is in". 5) I had to reach out after 2 months to see if my order came in. When I called the clerk put me on hold for probably over 10 minutes, idk I set the phone down and went about my business bcz it was taking so long. Then I finally hung up. The clerk called me back 3 days later, to tell me my "full" order was in, which it wasn't. 6) When I called another nearby healthfood store, 1 lb of chicory was $14.09 (and if you order it by the 1lb you get 10% off), when I looked in Frontier Co-op's catalog it was $7.32 for non-organic and $10.60 for organic. So, they are charging 3 times what this costs to buy!! I probably have more to share but I think this is enough information for you to make a decision about this place. Bottom line: this place sucks!
