I had them install a clear bra over the hood. They were suppose to fill any rock chips with paint before installing the clear bra. They did not, so now I have a few dozen rock chips in my hood covered with a clear auto bra which means I have to pay someone else to remove the clear auto bra, fix the rock chips, then install another clear auto bra. THIS EXPERIENCE WAS A COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!! I called Matt Godi, owner of St.Louis Auto Detail, on his cell phone because I was referred to him by somebody I know. I asked him how much he would charge me for a full detail inside and out of the car of my clients that I was trying to help him sell. He quoted me $150, which was higher than I normally pay for a detail, but agreed to it based on the fact it was a convenient location for me. I dropped it off Wednesday and he said it would be ready the following day. I called on Thursday and he was almost finished with it and I asked him if He could also touch up the car. He said he would touch up the car for an extra $50. I agreed to have him do it. I said go ahead and keep it for another day to make sure the touch up turns out well. I even agreed to pay him before the work was completed, but needed to have my client authorize the extra cost for the touch-up. I called my client and told him the cost of his car being detailed would be $200. My client agreed to the price. I called Matt Godi back to pay him and HE QUOTED ME $275! I said you told me $150 plus another $50 for the touch-up of the car. He argued with me and denied quoting me that price. He said he never would charge that little for a detail. I told him over and over I heard him say "$150". Needless to say, we went round and round and he did not care about me at all as a customer that I was very unhappy. He showed absolutely no empathy. I felt like a helpless customer in which a business does not care about my happiness at all. I gave up after seeing he did not have a care in the world about me, so I wound up paying the $275 he demanded from me! I will never do business there again!!!! I never have left a review about this for any business in my life, but in this situation, I don't want this to happen to any other customer out there that would potentially deal with St.Louis Auto Detail in Chesterfield MO and business owner Matt Godi. I even went to the person that referred me and told him this whole horrible story and he said that Matt probably does not care how I feel because he has enough business. I was impressed start to finish. I came in for a Ceramic Pro (CP) maintenance touch-up, and left with not only a CP touch-up, but corrections to my clear bra install. I mentioned some discoloration I had noticed after my initial clear bra & CP install (on the West Coast), and Eric talked to his Manager, and they decided to clean up the sloppy work of the other shop, free of charge. After the corrections, my clear bra looked better than it did after the initial installation! Also, they completely cleaned my car mats and windows, which was completely unexpected. Like, I said, I left feeling some impressed by their commitment to quality work attached to their name, and making me feel like a valued customer. I can't thank the St. Louis Auto Detail team enough. We have a Toyota Corolla that is used by my kids. When my 18-year-old got his own car and wasn't using the Corolla any longer, the car was absolutely filthy. He had been in a automotive technical program for the past two years and frequently got in the car with dirty hands, dirty clothes, and car parts. I'm an absolute neat freak and couldn't even stand to be in the car. We took it to St. Louis Auto Detail and could not be happier with the results. The car looks like it did when we bought it. There were no signs of its former grease-monkey hauling life. My wife was given an estimate over the phone, but she was told that was just an estimate pending on the actual condition of the car. I recently purchased a 2005 BMW 325Ci in Jet Black. The paint was in great shape, as the car was always garaged by the previous owner, but it had lots of swirls on the hood & trunk from 13 years of washes, along with quite a few light scratches.
